  Level 14 : Yurin(有隣,유린)... Being together with neighbors... Item No. 301.

 
有隣(유린)은 착함을 이웃과 같이 하는 것이다.

  Yurin(有隣,유린) means ssharing goodness together with neighbors.

양은 개와 함께 무리를 이루지 않고, 기러기는 제비와 함께 모일 수 없음은 이치인 것이다.

  It is principle of nature that ssheep do not form flocks wwith dogs,

  and wild geese cannot gather together with swallows.

착함은 이웃을 착하게 하니 이웃이 착하지 않으면 이웃을 버리는 것은
착함과 德(덕)이 손상될 것을 두려워 함이니 가히 그 福(복)을 받을 수 있게 된다.

  Goodness inspires neighbors to become good as well.

  Therefore, if a neighbor remains unrighteous, turning away from them stems from them stems

   from the fear that one′s own goodness and virtue(德,덕) might be compromised,

   thereby making one worthy of receiving blessings(福,복) .

有隣者는 同隣于善也라 (유린자는 동린우선야라)

  Yurin(Being Together with Neighbors) refers to joining together with neighbors in goodness.

羊不群犬하며 鴻不集燕은 理也니 (양불군견하며 홍부집연은 리야니)

  That sheep do not flock with dogs and wild geese do not gather with swallows is a natural principle.

善者 隣善하여 隣不善則去之하여 恐損善德이라 (선자 인선하여 인불선즉거지하여 공손선덕이라)

  The good person encourages goodness in neighbors ; if a neighbor is unrighteous,

   they of compromising their own good virtue.

可領其福이니라. (가령기복이니라.)

  Thus, one becomes worthy of receiving blessings.

 [Explanation, 풀이]

참된 사람이  참된 사람끼리 모이는 것은 의도적으로 그리하지 않아도 자연히 그리 된다.

  It happens naturally that true(righteous) people gather whit other true people,

   even without any deliberate inttention.

악한 사람이 악한 사람끼리 모이는 것도 자연히 그리 된다.

   Likewise, evil people gathering with other evil people also happens naturally.
