The Humane Educational Society receives more than 1,000 cats and dogs each month and many of those dogs have a difficult time finding a home. The main reason is their color and appearance. Of the 700 animals call the Humane Educational Society home,  some don't get a second glance.

5. 타타 자동차 외에도 르노 및 니산과 기술 협력을 맺고 있는 바자지(Bajaj)와 현대 같은 굴지의 자동차 제조사들이 개발한 값싼 차들이 조만간 시판될 예정이다. 이렇게 되면 자동차 시장의 판도를 바꾸게 될 수 있으며 특히 중고차 시장이 큰 영향을 받게 될 수 있다. 

Apart from Tata Motors, cheap cars from other auto majors such as Bajaj (in collaboration with Renault and Nissan) and Hyundai are going to hit the road sooner or later. All this could change the dynamics of the car market and particularly the used car segment.

General Motors may be so short of cash that bankruptcy is among its dwindling options, but the company is still in the business of creating dreams. Its latest dream, the P.U.M.A. mobility pod, was unveiled in April, 2009.

STORY 1. INTO THE FUTURE

(OC) You see a lot of unusual things on the streets of New York, and most don't get a second glance.  But today, people stopped in their tracks to get a glimpse of a Puma.  Not the cat, but Puma, a tiny vehicle costing about $6,000 that comes from General Motors?  Sharyn Alfonsi went for a spin.

(VO) It looks more like a tricked-out wheelchair than the car of the future.  It's called the Puma.

It's got a lot of potential.

(VO) It's self-balancing, like a Segway, a two-wheeled scooter with room for two, but not much more.

(OC) I feel like we're going on a roller coaster ride.

(VO) Its power source?  Lithium ion batteries.  It's faster than a golf cart...

Pick up a little bit of speed there.

(VO) Hitting 35 miles per hour, but hardly highway worthy.  The Puma, its creators imagine, will one day look more like a pod, prowling through cities.  It's the love child of Segway and GM.  Yep, the people who brought you the Hummer, the ultimate SUV, now want to be in the business of creating USVs - ultra small vehicles.  How small?

(OC) There's nowhere for a bag, a purse, a cup of coffee.

Well it's, that's exactly what I thought.  The next prototype there'll be rooms for bags, luggage, there'll be cup holders.  All the conveniences that we all look forward to.

(VO) It turns quickly.

(OC) You need Dramamine for this.

(VO) And they say turns heads.

(OC) Now, it's kind of goofy looking at this point.  Can you pick up girls with this car?

Well, you're here.

(VO) It could be four years before a Puma ever hits the road.  But it's two-wheeled proof that struggling automakers are still in the business of creating dreams.  Sharyn Alfonsi, ABC News, New York.

STORY 2. OVERSEAS TRIP

(OC) And George Stephanopoulos, the host of "This Week" is joining us now.  George, the President has now had his first week as president on the international stage.  So, let's do a little summing up.  Overall, the pluses from this trip?

(OC) Well, it's a real test for the President, Charlie, and I think he passed it pretty easily.  He was confident.  He had a sense of command in his personal and his public diplomacy. He forged strong relationships with his European counterparts.  He signaled to the European public that there was going to be a fresh start in relations with the United States, and especially to the Muslim world, that they have a friend in the White House, in some ways, one of their own.  And as Jake just showed, he capped it off with this critical visit to the troops.  When you've got American troops fighting on two fronts, you have to end that visit with a strong visit with the troops, and he did.

(OC) How about the minuses from the week?

(OC) Well, what we've see - saw this week is that good feelings with your allies don't guarantee agreement.  On the G-20, the European nations did not go along with the kind of stimulus the President would have hoped for.  And even that trillion dollars they came up for the developing world may not materialize.  On Afghanistan, NATO endorsed the President's policies, but it's pretty clear the United States is going to be carrying the bulk, overwhelming bulk of the military load.  And even though the President had good word - good meetings with both the Chinese and the Russian leaders, we saw, after that North Korean missile test that they are not eager to go along with what the United States would want when it comes to the UN resolutions to sanction North Korea.

(OC) So, some pluses, some minuses.  Overall, White House aides happy?

(OC) They, they feel this trip went exactly as they planned.  They couldn’t be happier.  And now they're going to come back home and focus again on the economy.

(OC) All right, George Stephanopoulos, thanks very much.

STORY 3. BABY'S HEART

(OC) A delicate and profoundly sad medical drama is unfolding tonight with two babies' lives in the balance.  At a hospital in Toronto, Canada, one tiny girl is dying, and there's no way to save her.  Nearby, another very young baby needs her heart, and with a mix of grief, hope and gratitude, two sets of parents have been drawn together.  Here's ABC's Dan Harris.

(VO) On the third floor of Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children, the parents of 2 month old Kaylee Wallace have been preparing to let her die.  A floor below, 1 month old Lillian O'Connor, in need of a new heart.  Kaylee's parents have been hoping their child can save Lillian's life.

And the extreme comfort will be that another child will survive, hopefully, from this.

I think today is going to be a really hard day.

(VO) Kaylee has a brain condition that prevents her from breathing without a respirator.  Her parents are mentally preparing for the end.

We have to take her to a Pacu unit downstairs beside the operating theater in another room and say our good-byes and then remove the machine and keep our hands off of her for that period of time.  That will be the difficult part, to watch that.

(VO) Tonight, doctors are still trying to decide whether this extraordinary transplant will take place.  There are real risks.  When Kaylee is taken off of life support, she must be allowed to die before her heart can be removed.  And during that period of time, her heart can be damaged.

That is more risky for the recipient, because they will be receiving a heart that has undergone some stress.

(VO) Kaylee's parents are aware of, and scared of, this risk.

We don't want to see that happen.  So it scares us right now.  Losing our daughter is okay, we understand that, but we don't want to lose two.  And it's scary risk.  We're afraid to, we're afraid, we're really afraid.

(VO) Kaylee's parents say they badly want this to work.  There's nothing more they can do for their child.  They just hope their dreams for her life can live on in someone else's child.  Dan Harris, ABC News.
