Commentary on John 15 (6)
John 15 is a story about love and hate.
Chapter 13 of 1 Corinthians says that without this love (agape), we are nothing.
Why does the world hate the light, hate the truth, and hate the people of God?
What is it that is missing? It is because there is no love.
If we receive and keep blessings, what can we give to others? Blessings.
Since all you have is blessings, the only thing you can do is bless.
Since God is blessings itself, He can give us nothing but blessings.
However, if we do not receive those blessings, we will perish ourselves, and God does not have a curse.
People who curse or condemn others because that's all they have.
If I have love, I will naturally love others.
When we fight with others, we fight because we have the temperament to fight.
We do not fight because we have to fight, but because we have the temperament to fight with others, so we fight when we have the opportunity to fight.
There is everything in the world, but Jesus Christ is not in it.
This is where the Spirit of truth deviated.
If we do not become one body and one spirit with Christ through the Spirit of truth, what is missing?
There is everything, but there is no love.
That is why all we do is hate others.
In the last days, lawlessness that deviates from the truth is increasing, so love is cooling off in the church community.
People think that lies, deception, and lawlessness are outside when they do not receive the Spirit of truth in them.
The church in Corinth is a church that is biased toward the world, and because it does not have love, it condemns others.
From chapter 1 to chapter 15, it is very important to know that there is a deep truth in this word, but we must also open our eyes to see the Gospel of John ourselves.
In fact, when I preached this Gospel of John, I only shouted, but if the standard of faith becomes clear in our hearts and the knowledge of Jesus Christ remains, then that is God’s success.
Let me say it again: the Gospel of John is a word to glorify our fleshed human beings.
When Adam sinned by eating the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, God said, “For dust you are, and to dust you will return” (Gen. 3:19), and thus determined Adam’s fate.
Therefore, all humans are born from the earth and return to the earth.
This is the fate of fleshed human beings.
In this state, all religions try to ascend to heaven on their own, but Bible assert that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Rom. 3:23)
But the Word that said, “In the beginning was the Word” (John 1:1) came in the flesh in human form, and is present in us as the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit of the Counselor, and speaks to us through the Bible.
That is why the last words given to the seven churches in Revelation 2 and 3 are, “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
However, the problem is that many people only hear the Bible as a book of legal texts and do not know that the Holy Spirit speaks through the Bible.
Jesus Christ speaks as a speaker, but the main body is God the Father.
Jesus Christ was a sent apostle and a spokesperson.
Since the audio device has the body and speaker attached together, you may not know it from the outside, but in reality, the amplifier and speaker are separate, and the main body and speaker are clearly separate.
The main body is God, and Jesus Christ is the glory of the main body, and just as He spoke in the image of God, the Holy Spirit still teaches us and reminds us of the words about God the Father and Christ, who are the main body.
It teaches and reminds us through the Bible.
That is why the Holy Spirit is the Living Word because it teaches and reminds us of the words of Christ, and the Bible is the Written Word.
So, 2 Timothy says that all Scripture is given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Tim. 3:16).
This means that the living words were breathed “huh” as if breathing into the Bible.
That is why we must listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit through the Bible in order to have ears that can hear the Word of God.
That is how the Bible is seen.
Of course, even that is done by the Lord.
This truth seems difficult because it is not easy for an fleshed human to change into a spiritual human.
That is why our way of thinking does not change, our concepts do not change, and therefore our actions do not change.
If you are ignorant of the words of the Gospel of John, you will not know what it means to be in the Holy Spirit, to move through the Holy Spirit, to receive life in the Holy Spirit, to have your prayers answered in the Holy Spirit, to intercede for others in the Holy Spirit, to be thankful in the Holy Spirit, and to preach the gospel in the Holy Spirit.
You can only speak the words of the Bible according to your own will and memory.
You cannot be a witness because the Holy Spirit does not guarantee what you said.
If you look at the Old Testament law, there are two witnesses.
In the Old Testament, there must be two people to be a witness.
The Old Testament was like Mormonism, where witnesses were paired off, but if the Holy Spirit confirms the words I testify within us, I alone become two witnesses.
Since the Holy Spirit and I become two, we become two witnesses.
Jesus speaks from outside, but the Father speaks within him, so Jesus was two witnesses.
That is why his words are always effective, and when the Holy Spirit confirms the words of the Bible that I testify, I become effective as two witnesses, so the devil's accusations are removed, and the preaching is accepted by people.
That is why those who died are raised to life through the gospel of Christ, the Son.
No matter how many people quote the Bible, it does not appear as a decisive power to that person, and the reason they are unable to be born again or repent is because they diligently spread the biblical knowledge they know, but they do it alone, so the Holy Spirit does not listen to the words they preach. Holy Spirit are not acknowledging it.
That is why people who say they have received grace usually say, ‘You should go to a prayer center and pray earnestly to receive the Holy Spirit.’
In a trial, if a lawyer diligently defends the defendant by saying that the defendant is not in violation of the law and silences the prosecutor, the defendant is innocent.
The prosecutor continues to accuse.
He makes accusations.
However, sinners are not qualified to defend themselves.
However, when the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ, comes into us, He not only died for sinners, but also prays at the right hand of God's throne, so He can defend sinners.
Therefore, His Spirit is in me, and when I argue with Him through the words of the Bible, the mouth of the devil, the prosecutor, is silenced.
When God, the judge, asks, "Do you have anything to say?" and the devil says, "I have nothing to say," freedom is declared, saying, "Then you are innocent!"
There, the work of salvation takes place and the work of gratitude to God takes place.
It took me a long time to understand this.
Before I was ordained as a pastor, church members had already gathered in groups of one hundred, one hundred and twenty.
However, I was worried when I saw so many people coming on Sunday.
It felt as if a mother was feeding her baby an empty breast.
But these people said, “You are so gracious. Your words are so good.”
I wanted to crawl into a hole.
How frustrating it was to spend Sunday sitting alone in the office.
Why? My concern at that time was why biblical blessings did not occur to our church members.
‘Why do these church members not have biblical emotion, biblical joy, biblical gratitude, repentance, and a broken heart?’ This was my concern at the time.
‘Lord, why do you not give me such blessings?
I am annoyed by the fact that the church members come in groups of one hundred or one hundred and twenty on Sundays, give gifts, book fees, and pastoral activity fees.
I prayed, ‘I hope that the blessings promised in the Bible will come true for these people.’
So I fasted for 40 days.
I read unconditionally and prayed about books about Christ, the cross, the Holy Spirit, the new covenant, blood, and the words about Jesus Christ, the words about salvation, and the words about resurrection.
From then on, no matter what I did, I started praying, “Lord, please free me from the tension of trying to win on my own.”
Then, the Holy Spirit was with me, so when I preached, people there experienced the thrill of salvation and cried, “Oh, is this really how God’s love is?” and being deeply moved by God's love began to happen.
A missionary couple in Japan came to see that and asked, “How can we make such a thing happen? I should make such a thing happen to the Japanese people too. Please teach me too.”
So I spent 3 nights and 4 days with them and talked to them. It’s just everyday life now, but at the time, it was a huge event.
