천성경 (증) - 401. 평화와 사랑

9 하나님도 혼자 있으면 불행합니다. 우리와 마찬가지로 혼자서는 외롭습니다. 그래서 하나님도 절대적인 참사랑을 좋아한다고 하면 이론에 맞습니다. 하나님보다 높은 사랑, 절대적인 존재보다 높은 사랑을 원한다는 것입니다. 하나님이 제일 필요로 하는 보다 절대적이고 높은 사랑을 원한다면, 거기에 대해서 하나님도 절대적으로 복종해야 됩니다. 우주 존재의 근원은 무엇이냐? 절대적인 존재가 아니라 절대적인 존재를 묶을 수 있는 절대적인 사랑이 우주 존재의 근원이요 기원이 됐으면, 이 천지는 평화의 세계를 조성할 수 있다는 결론을 지을 수 있습니다. 그런 사랑 때문에 모든 것이 우주에 존속하기 시작했다는 결론을 지으면, 사랑 때문에 평화와 이상도 현현한다는 논리가 자동적으로 나옵니다.

10 생명의 원천이 되시는 하나님은 어떤 기반 위에서 살기를 원하느냐? 평화의 기반 위에서 살기를 원할 것입니다. 평화의 기반은 생명이 설정하는 것이 아닙니다. 주체와 대상이 높고 낮음을 초월하고 공통적 가치를 인정할 수 있는 질서적 단계를 초월한 그 무엇입니다. 그것이 참된 사랑입니다. 하나님은 참된 사랑의 바탕 위에서 생명을 지니고 있고, 참된 사랑의 바탕 위에서 전지전능해야 됩니다. 그래야 하나님은 역사를 초월한 입장에 선 이상적 주체가 될 수 있는 것이지, 생명의 힘만 가지고 주체적 입장에 선다면 모든 만물이 하나 안 되려고 합니다. 미물인 동물이나 식물들도 전부 사랑의 주인이 자기를 가꿔 주기를 바라고 사랑의 손길이 오는 것을 좋아한다는 것입니다.

11 오늘날까지 인간은 눈부신 과학의 발전을 이뤄 놓음으로써 창조적 생활면에서는 신을 닮았다고 할 수 있으나, 사랑의 생활에 있어서는 아직 전혀 신을 닮지 못하고 있습니다. 그것 때문에 슬픔과 고통과 불행이 계속되고 있습니다. 사랑은 조화이기 때문에 사랑이 없는 곳에 조화가 있을 수 없으며, 조화가 없는 곳에 평화나 행복이 또한 있을 수 없습니다. 여기서 가지가지의 비참상이 벌어지게 됩니다. 이리하여 신도 인간도, 신을 닮은 이상적인 생활, 이상적인 세계를 원하고 있는 것입니다. 신이 원하고 인간의 본심이 원하는 이상적인 인간은 창조적이면서도 신을 중심한 사랑을 실천하는 선한 인간입니다. 또 신과 인간이 바라는 이상적인 세계는 환경을 개선하는 창조적 활동이 계속되면서 개인과 개인, 국가와 국가 사이에 사랑이 차고 넘치는 대조화의 통일세계입니다. 이 같은 새로운 타입의 인간이 새로운 통일세계에서 생활할 수 있게 될 때, 오랫동안 인간을 괴롭혀 오던 일체의 슬픔, 고통, 싸움은 비로소 영원히 자취를 감추게 된다는 것입니다.

12 무엇을 중심삼고 세계를 수습하느냐? 오늘날 여기에 대해 역사가들도 말하고 현재 지성인들도 말하지만, 우선 세계를 지도할 수 있는 사람이 필요합니다. 그러면 무엇을 지도할 것이냐? 경제력을 중심삼고 지도할 수 있는 능력 있는 사람은 얼마든지 있습니다. 정치적인 입장을 중심삼고 지도할 수 있는 능력 있는 사람도 얼마든지 있습니다. 돈이 없어서 안 되는 것이 아니고, 정치체제가 없어서 안 되는 것이 아닙니다. 하나님과 하나님의 이상에 통할 수 있는 사랑의 질서가 없습니다. 본연의 사랑의 질서가 세계적 기반 위에서 성장할 수 있는 진리를 모색할 수 있다면 거기서 비로소 평화의 기원이, 인간 본심이 안식할 수 있는 출발이 벌어지는 것입니다.

13 평등은 하나를 중심삼고 하는 말이 아닙니다. 좌우라는 관념에서 둘이 하나의 수평을 이루어야 평등이 됩니다. 평화라는 말 자체가 반드시 상대적 관계를 두고 하는 말입니다. 동서를 중심삼고 평화를 말합니다. 동쪽만을 중심삼은 평화는 일방적 평화이지 전체 평화를 대신할 수 없습니다. ‘평(平)’ 자가 들어간 ‘평준(平準)’ ‘평형(平衡)’이라는 말은 모두 상대적 개념입니다. 둘 이상을 중심삼고 연결되는 데에서 성립되는 말입니다. 평화의 경지도 남자와 여자가 하나되는 데서 이루어집니다. 남자와 여자가 하나된다는 것은 키가 같아서가 아닙니다. 키를 중심삼고 보면 남자는 크고 여자는 작습니다. 힘으로 봐도 남자는 강하고 여자는 약합니다. 외적인 면을 가지고는 수평을 취할 수 없습니다. 그러면 상대적 수평권을 무엇을 중심삼고 이루느냐? 그것은 어떠한 힘도 아니고 지식도 아닙니다. 지식은 아무리 해박하다 하더라도 높고 낮음이 있습니다. 평등의 자리를 이룰 수 있는 단 하나의 것이 있다면 그것은 사랑밖에 없습니다.

14 ‘평’이라는 기준은 어디서 찾을 것이냐? 사랑을 중심삼은 기준에서만 가능합니다. 사랑은 남성이나 여성이나 우리의 모든 세포들이 요구하는 절대적인 이상봉입니다. 그 이상봉을 중심삼고 하나될 수 있는 기준, 전체를 대표한 기준으로 서기 때문에 평균이나 평등이라는 말은 힘이나 모양을 중심삼은 것이 아닙니다. 사랑을 중심삼고 하는 말입니다.

15 우리는 어디로 가고 있느냐? 이상세계를 향해 갑니다. 또 평화세계, 통일세계를 향해 갑니다. 이상이니 통일이니 평화니 하는 것은 하나의 세계입니다. 그 하나의 세계의 중심이 뭐냐? 이 모든 것에 사랑이 중심이 안 돼 있으면 안 됩니다. 공산세계가 평화의 세계입니까? 민주세계가 평화의 세계입니까? 아무리 조직이 통일됐다고 하더라도 사랑이 없으면 그것은 통일세계가 못 됩니다. 사랑이 있어야 됩니다.

16 천년만년 불변하는 본질이 있다면 그 본질을 중심삼고 평화가 이루어져야 영원한 평화가 벌어질 것이고, 행복도 그런 본질을 중심삼고 벌어져야 영원한 행복이 이루어는 것입니다. 그러한 것이 참사랑에서부터 시작됩니다. 참다운 사랑을 중심으로 해서 주장하는 자유는 영원한 자유요, 그 참사랑을 중심삼고 시작되는 평화는 영원한 평화요, 그러한 행복은 영원한 행복이요, 그것을 중심삼고 전체가 통일되면 그것이 영원한 통일이 된다는 결론이 나옵니다. 그러면 영원한 평화가 영원한 사회, 세계까지 연결되는 것입니다.

9　神様も、独りでいれば不幸です。私たちと同様に、独りでは寂しいのです。ですから、神様も絶対的な真の愛を好むといえば、理論に合います。神様より高 い愛、絶対的な存在より高い愛を望むというのです。神様が一番必要なものとして、より絶対的で高い愛を願うとすれば、そこに神様も絶対的に服従しなければ なりません。
 宇宙の存在の根源とは何でしょうか。絶対的な存在ではなく、絶対的な存在を一つにすることができる絶対的な愛が宇宙の存在の根源となり、起源になれば、こ の天地は平和の世界を造成できる、という結論を禺すことができるのです。そのような愛ゆえに、すべてのものが宇宙に存続し始めたという結論を出せば、愛ゆ えに平和と理想も顕現するという論理が、自動的に出てくるのです。

10　生命の源泉であられる神様は、どのような基盤の上で生きることを願うのでしょうか。平和の基盤の上で生きることを願うでしょう。平和の基盤は、生命 が設定するものではありません。主体と対象が高低を超越し、共通的価値を認定できる秩序的段階を超越した、その何かです。それが真の愛です。
 神様は、真の愛の土台の上で生命をもち、真の愛の土台の上で全知全能でなければなりません。それでこそ、神様は歴史を超越した立場に立った理想的な主体に なることができるのであって、生命の力だけで主体的立場に立つならば、すべての万物が一つになることはできません。小さな動物や植物も、すべて愛の主人が 自分を育てることを願って、愛の手を差し伸べてくれるのを喜ぶというのです。

11　今日まで人間は、輝かしい科学の発展を遂げることによって、創造的な生活面においては神様に似るようになったということができますが、愛の生活にお いては、全く神様に似ることができていません。ですから、悲しみと苦痛と不幸が継続しているのです。愛は調和なので、愛がないところに調和はあり得ず、調 和がないところに平和や幸福もまたあり得ません。ここから数々の悲惨な光景が展開するようになるのです。
 神様も人間も、神様に似た理想的な生活、理想的な世界を願っています。神様が願い、人間の本心が願う理想的な人間は、創造的であると同時に、神様を中心と した愛を実践する善の人間です。また、神様と人間が望む理想的な世界は、環境を改善する創造的活動がなされながら、個人と個人、国家と国家の間に愛が満ち あふれる、大調和の統一世界です。このような新しいタイプの人間が、新しい統一世界で生活できるようになる時、永らく人間を困らせてきた一切の悲しみ、苦 痛、争いは、初めて永遠に跡形もなく消えるようになるのです。

12　何を中心としてこの世界を収拾するのでしょうか。今日、これについて、歴史家たちも主張し、現在の知性人たちも主張していますが、まず世界を指導で きる人が必要です。それでは、何を指導するのでしょうか。経済力を中心として指導できる能力のある人は、いくらでもいます。政治的な立場を中心として指導 できる能力のある人も、いくらでもいます。お金がなくて、それができないのではなく、政治体制がなくて、それができないのでもありません。神様と神様の理 想に通じる、愛の秩序がないのです。本然の愛の秩序が世界的基盤の上で成長する真理を模索できるならば、そこで初めて平和の起源ができ、人間の本心が安息 し始めるのです。

13　「平等」は、一つのものを中心として語る言葉ではありません。左右という観念で、二つが一つの水平を形成してこそ平等になります。「平和」という言 葉自体が、必ず相対的関係をおいて語る言葉です。東西を中心として平和を語るのです。東側だけを中心とした平和は一方的な平和であって、全体の平和を身代 わりすることはできません。「平」の字が入った「平準」「平衡」という言葉は、すべて相対的概念です。二つ以上のものを中心として、連結されるところで成 立する言葉です。
 平和の境地も、男性と女性が一つになるところで成り立ちます。男性と女性が一つになるというのは、背丈が同じだからではありません。背丈を中心として見れ ば、男性は大きくて女性は小さいのです。力を見ても、男性は強くて女性は弱いのです。外的な面では、水平になることはできません。それでは、何を中心とし て相対的水平圏を成し遂げるのでしょうか。それは、何かの力でもなく、知識でもありません。知識は、いくら学識が広いといっても、高低の違いがあります。 平等の立場を成し遂げ得るただ一つのものがあるとすれば、それは愛しかないのです。

14　「平」という基準は、どこで求めることができるのでしょうか。愛を中心とした基準でのみ可能です。愛は、男性でも女性でも、私たちのあらゆる細胞が 要求する、絶対的な理想の頂点です。その理想の頂点を中心として一つになる基準、全体を代表した基準として立つので、「平均」や平等という言葉は、力や形 を中心としたものではありません。愛を中心として語る言葉なのです。

15　私たちは、どこに向かっているのでしょうか。理想世界に向かっているのです。また、平和世界、統一世界に向かっています。理想や統一や平和というも のは、一つになった世界なのです。その一つの世界の中心とは何でしょうか。このすべてのものは、愛が中心となっていなければならないのです。共産世界が平 和の世界ですか。民主世界が平和の世界ですか。いくら組織が統一されたとしても、愛がなければ、それは統一世界になりません。愛がなければならないので す。

16　千年、万年、不変な本質があるとすれば、その本質を中心として平和が成り立ってこそ永遠の平和が広がるのであり、幸福も、そのような本質を中心とし て広がってこそ永遠の幸福が成就するのです。そのようなことが真の愛から始まります。真の愛を中心として主張する自由は、永遠の自由であり、その真の愛を 中心として始まる平和は、永遠の平和であり、そのような幸福は、永遠の幸福であり、それを中心として全体が統一されれば、それが永遠の統一になるという結 論が出てきます。そうなれば、永遠の平和が永遠の社会、世界まで連結されるのです。

9 If He is alone, God feels lonely, just as we do. So it is theoretically correct to say that even God likes absolute, true love. He wants a love greater than Himself, an absolute love greater than an absolute being. If what God needs is a greater and more absolute love, then even God must be absolutely obedient to it. What is the root of the universe’s existence? Since the root and the origin of the universe is not an absolute being, but rather is absolute love, which itself can bind an absolute being, we can conclude that heaven and earth can indeed form a world of peace. When we realize that everything in the universe came into existence because of love, then we will automatically deduce that it was love that brought forth peace and ideals. (215-229, 1991.02.18)

10 Given that God is the source of life, on what foundation would He desire to live and continue to exist? He would want to exist on the foundation of peace. The foundation of peace is not something established by life. What can establish it? It is something by which subject and object partners acknowledge their common value, transcending high and low and the orderly stages of their development. It is true love alone. God maintains life on the foundation of true love. His omniscience and omnipotence are based on true love. Only in this way can He stand as the ideal subject partner who has transcended history. If He seeks to assume the position of the subject partner with only the power of life, then creation will not want to unite with Him. Even microscopic organisms, animals and plants wish for a master of love to care for and tend to them. (173-085, 1988.02.07)

11 We can say that people resemble God in their creativity based on their remarkable scientific achievements. However, in the area of love, they do not resemble God at all, so sadness, suffering and misfortune continue. Since love is found together with harmony, there can be no love in the absence of harmony, and neither can there be peace or happiness without harmony. In the realm of disharmony, all sorts of miserable things develop. So both God and human beings desire that people establish an ideal lifestyle and world that takes after God. The ideal person desired by God and by our original mind is both creative and good. He or she is a person who practices love that revolves around God. Also, the ideal world desired by both God and humanity is a united world of great harmony, where creative activities to improve the environment are abundant and where the love between individuals and nations is full to overflowing. When the time comes for a new type of person such as this to finally live in a new, unified world, all sadness, ordeals and fighting that the human race has been enduring for so many ages will finally disappear. 12 Centering on what should we be managing this world? This is a subject of discussion among today’s historians and intellectuals, but I tell you, the first necessity is to have a person with the capability to guide the world. What kind of guidance would such a person offer? There are plenty of people who have the ability to guide based on their power over the economy. There is no shortage of people capable of leading based on politics. But it is neither a lack of money nor a poor political system that keeps us from succeeding. The problem is that there is no system of love enabling people to connect to God and to God’s ideal. When we struggle through to find the truth that sustains a proper system of original love, and grow it to a global scale, then peace— the starting point where our original mind can rest—will arise. 13 The word “equality” cannot be used in reference to a single entity. Equality arises when two entities make a single, horizontal line encompassing the concept of right and left. The word “peace” is always used in reference to mutual relationships. We speak of peace between East and West. But a peace centered only on the East would be a one-sided peace, and that cannot be total peace. The words pyeongjoon (level, pyeonghyeong (balance, Hr) and pyeonghwa (peace, ^pfn), each of which includes the character pyeong (T% are related concepts. These are concepts that can only exist when a connection is made between two or more beings. A state of peace is realized when a man and woman are united. When they become one, it does not mean they’re the same height, for example. Looking at men and women in terms of their height, men are generally taller. Also, when we look at them in terms of strength, men are generally stronger. Thus we cannot find equilibrium based on only external aspects. Then what is the center when a relational realm of equilibrium is formed? It is not any kind of force or knowledge. No matter how advanced two people may be in the world of knowledge, one will always know more. If there is one single thing that exists that can form a place of equality, it has to be love. 14 Where will we find the standard for evenness (pyeong, qt)? The standard for evenness revolves around love. Love is the absolute, the ideal and the ultimate. It is demanded by each one of our cells, whether we are men or women. Love is the standard that unites us in that ultimate ideal, the standard that represents the whole, which means that concepts such as the average (pyeong- gyuti) or equality (pyeongdeung) are not related to an entity’s strength or form. These words represent realities that are based on love. (166-039, 1987.05.28)

15 Where are we going? We are going toward the ideal world. Also we are going toward a peaceful and unified world. When we say “ideal,” “unified” or “peaceful,” what we really mean is a world of oneness. What is the center of the world of oneness? Love must be the center. Is the communist world a world of peace? Is the democratic world? Regardless of how united a sovereign state may be, it cannot bring forth a world of true oneness without love. There has to be love. (124-025, 1983.01.16)
