천성경 (증) - 415. 두익사상

9 두익사상은 뭐냐? 하나님주의를 찾아가는 것입니다. 하나님주의를 찾아서는 무엇을 하느냐? 평화주의로 다시 출발하는 것입니다. 하나님주의는 하나님과 만나 사랑을 중심삼고 하나되어 평화주의로 재차 출발하는 것입니다. 그 세계에서 본연적 지상천국의 출발 기지가 생겨납니다. 거기에서 일생 동안 산 사람은 틀림없이 영원한 세계에 수속도 밟지 않고 그냥 들어갑니다.

10 복귀의 길이 쉬운 것이 아닙니다. 좌우의 종말시대입니다. 좌우를 놓고 죽어 가던 예수님은 부모의 한을 남기고 갔습니다. 그러니 부모의 사상을 가지고 두익사상과 하나님을 중심삼고 좌익의 참소권을 벗어나 통일권을 논의하여 반대로 뒤로 돌아가서 무한히 전진할 수 있는 환경을 만들지 않고는 천국이 생겨나지 않습니다. 그런 때입니다. 그런 의미에서 선생님이 하나님주의, 두익사상을 들고 나와 형제주의를 무마시키는 일을 하는 것입니다.

11 통일교회에서 말하는 두익사상이 무엇입니까? 좌익 우익이 싸우는데, 머리가 없으니 싸우는 것이 아닙니까? 두익사상·좌익사상·우익사상, 세 사상이 합해서 연합사상이 나올 수 있습니다. 그 연합사상의 주체가 누구냐? 아무리 생각해 봐도 머리 꼭대기가 모든 신경계통, 중추신경의 뿌리니까 머리를 거치지 않고는 나오지 못합니다. 그러면 그 뿌리 중의 뿌리는 무엇이냐? 뿌리 중의 뿌리는 하나님입니다. 하나님으로부터 나오는 것이 두익사상입니다. 그렇기 때문에 우리의 정상적인 본연의 마음이 흡족한 것입니다.

12 통일교회는 사상적 통일을 중심삼고 두익운동을 합니다. 좌익 우익은 날개를 말합니다. 그런데 두익, 머리는 날개가 아닙니다. 좌라 하면 왼쪽을 의미하듯이 두익 하면 머리 편, 머리 쪽으로 생각하면 됩니다. 예수님이 이 땅 위에서 새로운 세계적인 분립역사를 어디에서 했느냐 하면 십자가상에서 했습니다. 예수님을 중심삼고 좌우로 오른편 강도와 왼편 강도, 바라바권, 이렇게 3세계권으로 분립된 것입니다. 끝날에 가서는 좌우가 있고 예수님과 같이 머리가 나오고 바라바가 있습니다. 바라바는 공산세계도 아니고 민주세계도 아닌 세계로 아랍 진영의 세계입니다.

13 세계주의 사상이 필요합니다. 민족주의 사상, 국가주의가 나왔는데, 지금까지 공산주의는 국가를 위주로 하고 자기들의 인종적 한계를 중심삼고 주장해 나왔습니다. 그것을 다 넘었습니다. 그렇기 때문에 초종교·초국가입니다. 지금까지 국가의 사상을 넘어가야 합니다. 이것은 세계주의가 아니라 천주주의입니다. 초국가·초세계입니다. 초세계의 국가, 초세계의 종교라는 것입니다. 지금까지 그런 사상이 없었기 때문에 하나님을 중심한 주의 사상이 나와야 되는데, 여기에 하나님주의, 두익사상이 대두하게 된 것입니다.

14 선생님은 초종교·초국가·초유엔의 이상을 가지고 모든 것을 결속시킵니다. 현실세계에서는 ‘초(超)’가 없습니다. 종교권과 국가권에도 ‘초’는 없습니다. ‘초’라고 하면 하나님한테로 돌아가는 절정권을 말합니다. 거기에 서 있는 인간으로서의 재림주이고 참부모인데, 그 참부모는 두익사상을 가지고 좌우를 수습합니다. 두익사상은 하나님을 절대 중심으로 세계의 모든 것을 수습하는 것입니다. 그러니까 종교권이나 국가권은 상대가 안 됩니다. 그것을 넘어가는 주의가 필요합니다. 그것을 넘어가는 것은 하나님 앞에 완성되어서 연결되는 심정의 문화권인 아담 통일문화세계입니다. 그것은 하나님과 일체권을 이루는 심정권의 출발 기지입니다. 군대의 기지와 마찬가지입니다.

15 하나님주의는 뭐냐? 초국가·초종교·초엔지오(WANGO·세계비정부기구연합)를 위한 통일주의입니다. 그 통일을 무엇으로 하느냐? 생각만 가지고 통일이 안 됩니다. 사랑이 필요합니다. 여기에서 종교나 사회의 모든 전통적 사상의 주류가 나오는데, 그것이 희생봉사입니다. 희생하는 데에는 새로운 싹이 나올 수 있습니다.

16 지금부터는 하나님을 중심한 생각과 관념으로 시작하지, 인간을 중심한 생각과 관념으로 시작하는 것이 아닙니다. 인간 중심한 거기에는 길이 없습니다. 유일하게 희망적인 길은 그 하나님이 이상 실현을 위한 종착역을 향해 출발할 수 있었다는 것입니다. 선생님은 그런 개념을 선언하고 있는 것입니다. 두익을 중심삼고 좌익 우익이 180도 전환하여 하나가 되어 하나님의 세계로 돌아가야 되는 것입니다. 하나님의 사랑으로 하나의 세계를 만들 수 있고 세계평화를 이룰 수 있습니다.

17 역사를 보면, 기독교를 중심삼고 물본주의와 신본주의로 갈라졌습니다. 물본주의도 무너지고 신본주의인 기독교 문화권도 무너져서 세속적인 인본주의로 떨어졌습니다. 그래서 하나님을 중심삼은 주의가 없습니다. 유물론자와 인본주의자들로는 세계가 수습되지 않습니다. 주인은 하나님이기 때문에 그 주인의 입장에서 봐야 수습이 되는 것입니다. 어떤 사상을 가진 권위자가 있다 하더라도 그가 세계를 끌고 갈 수 없습니다. 양쪽, 우익도 좌익도 안 됩니다. 그래서 생겨나야 하는 것이 두익사상입니다. 두익사상은 심정주의입니다. 무슨 심정주의냐? 참자녀의 심정, 참부부의 심정입니다. 하나님을 부모로 모시고 그 하나님과 혈통적 인연을 맺는 가정환경이 아니면 안 됩니다.

18 가정적인 천국 기반을 마련하기 위해 통일적 주인의 자세와 가정적 자세를 갖출 수 있는 터전을 완성하자는 것이 두익사상의 목적입니다. 가정은 천국 기반의 단위입니다. 금형(金型) 기능을 하는 모델입니다. 대량생산을 하는 것입니다. 천국을 이룰 수 있는 가정 모델이 어디 있습니까? 천상세계의 왕국과 그 왕권 세계에 대응될 수 있는 지상에서의 천국 단위의 가정이 어디에 있느냐는 말입니다. 그것은 선생님이 가르쳐 준 것 외에는 없습니다. 우리가 두익사상을 주장하는 것은 아담 해와의 상충적인 요인들을 통일적 기반 위에서 해결하고 본연적인 가정 기틀을 마련하자는 것입니다. 그것이 두익사상의 기반이 됩니다.

19 동양과 서양을 누가 갖다 붙이느냐? 선생님밖에 없습니다. 기독교 문명권과 동양사상 문명권을 중심삼고 불교·유교·이슬람교를 연합시킨 배경, 그 큰 배경을 소화할 수 있는 세계평화를 위한 종교연합을 만들어 놓았습니다. 그다음 정치풍토에서는 세계평화연합을 만들어서 서구사회와 기독교사회가 동양에서 합할 수 있는 준비를 해 놓고 기다리고 있습니다. 정치적으로는 두익사상과 하나님주의를 중심삼고 초국가적 이념으로 세계 정치풍토를 하나 만들어서 평화세계로 가는 것입니다.

20 지금은 완충지대에 놓여 있습니다. 이데올로기, 즉 가치관의 몰락으로 말미암아 세계가 수습될 수 없게끔 됐습니다. 현재의 그 무엇도 완충지대에 들어온 어려운 이 혼란시대에 주체성을 지닌 가치관의 내용을 갖고 있지 않다는 것입니다. 그것을 가질 수 있고 그것을 이룰 수 있는 것은 우리가 말하는 두익사상과 하나님주의밖에 없습니다. 이것이 마지막 가치관을 대표할 수 있는 시대로 들어간다는 것입니다. 이 하나님주의는 절대적인 가치입니다. 지금까지 모두 인간적인 생각으로 떠들어댔지만, 지금부터 인간 중심에서 하나님 중심으로 넘어갑니다. 하나님은 절대자입니다. 절대자에게는 절대적인 생각이 있습니다. 지금까지 아무도 이런 내용을 몰랐습니다. 수많은 종교들이 문화적인 배경이 되어 있어도 하나님주의를 몰랐던 것입니다. ‘하나님주의’라고 할 때 주의라는 것은 생활방식을 말합니다. 개인적인 생활방식, 가정적인 생활방식, 사회적인 생활방식, 국가적인 생활방식, 세계적인 생활방식, 천주적인 생활방식 등과 같은 체계적 방식에 있어서 이상적인 종교의 내용은 없었습니다. 그러나 통일교회가 이 땅 위에 출현함으로써 두익사상을 선포하고 하나님주의를 선포하게 된 것입니다.

21 미국은 소련 공산당을 이길 수 있는 사상이 없습니다. 선생님의 두익사상을 중심삼고 하나님주의로 무장하게 된다면, 황금만능 발판과 더불어 안팎이 하나돼서 선생님의 지도를 받아 하나님의 수직 방향, 직선 방향으로 가게 됩니다. 수직은 직선과 통합니다. 직선 방향을 따라서 본연적 창조이상 기준에 가서 세계가 하나의 가정을 연결시킨 형제적 판도를 성사함으로써 세계평화권이 됩니다. 정치와 종교를 결합시키기 위해 종교권은 마음적 세계를 대표한 것이기 때문에 세계평화종교연합을 만들고, 세계 정치권을 중심삼고는 세계평화연합을 만들어서 이것을 하나 만드는 것입니다.

22 지금까지의 수많은 주의들이 불변의 방향을 취하지 못했습니다. 미국은 미국만을 중심삼고, 소련은 소련만을 중심삼고, 민주주의는 민주주의만을 중심삼고, 공산주의는 공산주의만을 중심삼고 나왔습니다. 종교도 그와 마찬가지였습니다. 그것은 하나님이 바라시는 방향이 아닙니다. 어느 한때도 같은 방향을 취하지 못하고 모두 동서남북으로 제각각 달랐던 것입니다. 지금까지는 어떤 조직, 어떤 책임자, 어떤 국가도 하나님이 바라시는 방향을 잡지 못했습니다. 그러니까 지금부터는 개인·가정·사회·국가·세계·천주 등 모든 것은 영원불변의 방향성이 잡혀야 됩니다. 그런 것을 대표한 것이 두익사상, 하나님주의입니다.

23 한국 땅에서부터 세계적인 지도자들을 배출하여 통일의 세계, 평화의 세계인 지상낙원을 성취해야 됩니다. 우리 조국의 통일은 물론 동서의 문화적 차이와 남북의 빈부 격차를 하나님주의, 두익사상으로 해소하며 사랑을 중심한 인류 대가족사회인 평화의 세계를 건설해 나가야 할 것입니다.

24 민주세계는 우익을 대표하고, 공산세계는 좌익을 대표합니다. 이것들이 지금 무너지고 있습니다. 미국도 마찬가지입니다. 양 세계에 모두 중심이 없습니다. 중심이 무엇입니까? 지금부터 필요한 것은 두익사상, 하나님주의라고 선생님이 선포했습니다. 어떤 휴머니즘도 하나님 앞에 나설 수 없습니다. 하나님주의밖에 있을 수 없습니다. 하나님만이 절대적이고 영원한 중심입니다. 두익사상만이 전 인류의 중심이 될 수 있습니다. 진정한 영계와 육계의 중심이 되는 것은 참부모주의입니다.

25 이 세상에는 종교 문화권과 역사적 문화권, 민족 문화권이 남아 있습니다. 종교 문화권은 신의 생활에서부터 출발한 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 신주의를 실현할 수 있는 것이 종교 문화권입니다. 동서남북의 문화배경을 수습하기 위한 것입니다. 그다음에는 좌·우익이 싸우고 있으니 이것을 수습하자는 것이 두익사상입니다. 하나님주의 가지고는 종교를 통일할 것이고, 인간세계의 철학사조와 신음하는 이 세계를 수습하자는 것이 두익사상입니다.

9　「頭翼思想」とは何でしょうか。「神主義」を求めていくものです。「神主義」を求めて何をするのでしょうか。平和主義として再度出発するのです。「神 主義」とは、神様と出会い、愛を中心として一つになり、平和主義として再度出発するものです。その世界において、本然の地上天国の出発基地ができるので す。そこで一生涯生きた人は、手続きもせずに永遠の世界にそのまま間違いなく入っていくのです。


10　復帰の道は簡単ではありません。今は左右の終末時代です。左右を中心として死んでいったイエス様は、父母の恨を残して逝きました。ですから、父母の 思想をもって「頭翼思想」と神様を中心として、左翼の讒訴圏を離れた立場で統一圏を論議し、これまでとは反対に回れ右をして無限に進んでいける環境をつく らなければ、天国ができません。そのような時です。そのような意味で、先生が「神主義」、「頭翼思想」を掲げて現れ、兄弟主義をなくしていくのです。


11　統一教会で言う「頭翼思想」とは何ですか。頭がないので左翼と右翼が闘うのです。「頭翼思想」、左翼思想、右翼思想、この三つの思想が合わさって連 合思想が現れるのです。その連合思想の主体とは誰でしょうか。どんなに考えてみても、頭がすべての神経系統、中枢神経の根なので、頭を通過しなければ現れ ないのです。それでは、その根の中の根とは何でしょうか。根の中の根は神様です。神様から出てくるものが「頭翼思想」なのです。ですから、私たちの正常な 本然の心が満たされるのです。


12　統一教会は、思想的統一を中心として頭翼運動をします。左翼と右翼とは羽のことです。しかし、頭翼の頭は、羽ではありません。左と言えば左側を意味 するように、「頭翼」と言えば頭のほう、頭側と考えればよいのです。イエス様が、どこから新しい世界的な分立歴史をなしたのかといえば、十字架上からで す。イエス様を中心として、右側の強盗と左側の強盗、そしてバラバ圏、このように三つの世界圏に分立されたのです。終わりの日に至っては、右翼と左翼があ り、イエス様のように頭が現れ、バラバがいるのです。バラバは、共産世界でもなく民主世界でもない世界で、アラブ陣営の世界なのです。


13　世界主義思想が必要です。民族主義思想、国家主義が現れましたが、今まで共産主義は国家を第一として、自分たちの主張には人種的限界があったので す。私たちは、それをすべて越えました。ですから、超宗教、超国家です。今までの国家の思想を乗り越えなければなりません。これは、世界主義ではなく「天 宙主義」です。超国家、超世界です。超世界の国家、超世界の宗教だというのです。今までそのような思想はなかったのです。神様を中心とした主義、思想が現 れなければなりませんが、ここに「神主義」、「頭翼思想」が台頭するようになったのです。


14　先生は、超宗教、超国家、超国連の理想をもって、すべてのものを結束させます。現実世界では「超」がありません。宗教圏と国家圏にも「超」はありま せん。「超」といえば、神様のところに帰る頂点圏を意味します。そこに立っている人間としての再臨主であり、真の父母なのですが、その真の父母は「頭翼思 想」をもって左右を収拾します。
 「頭翼思想」とは、神様を絶対中心として、世界のあらゆるものを収拾するものです。ですから、宗教圏や国家圏は相手になりません。それを乗り越える主義が 必要なのです。それを乗り越えるのは、神様のみ前に完成されて連結される心情の文化圏である、アダム統一文化世界です。それは、神様と一体圏を成し遂げる 心情圏の出発基地です。


15　「神主義」とは何でしょうか。超国家、超宗教、超NGO。(WANGO:世界非政府機構連合)のための統一主義です。その統一を何でするのでしょう か。考えだけでは統一できません。愛が必要です。ここにおいて、宗教や社会のあらゆる伝統的思想の主流が出てきますが、それが犠牲と奉仕です。犠牲になる ところには、新しい芽が出てくるのです。


16　今からは、神様を中心とした考えと観念で始まるのであって、人間を中心とした考えと観念で始まるのではありません。人間を中心としたところには道が ありません。唯一、希望的な道は、神様が理想実現のための終着駅に向かって出発できたということです。先生は、そのような概念を宣言しているのです。頭翼 を中心として、左翼と右翼が一八〇度転換して一つになり、神様の世界に帰らなければならないのです。神様の愛で一つの世界をつくることができ、世界平和を 成し遂げることができるのです。


17　歴史を見れば、キリスト教を中心として物本主義と神本主義に分かれました。物本主義も崩れ、神本主義であるキリスト教文化圏も崩れて、世俗的な人本 主義に降下しました。ですから、神様を中心とした主義がありません。唯物論者と人本主義者たちでは、世界が収拾されません。主人は神様なので、その主人の 立場から見てこそ、収拾ができるのです。ある思想をもった権威者がいるとしても、彼が世界を導いていくことはできません。右翼も左翼もできません。それ で、生まれてこなければならないのが「頭翼思想」なのです。「頭翼思想」は心情主義です。何の心情主義でしょうか。真の子女の心情、真の夫婦の心情です。 神様を父母として侍り、その神様と血統的関係を結ぶ家庭環境でなければならないのです。


18　家庭的な天国基盤を準備するために、統一的主人の姿勢と家庭的姿勢を備えることができる基盤を完成しようというのが「頭翼思想」の目的です。家庭 は、天国基盤の単位です。金型の機能をするモデルです。大量生産をするのです。天国をつくれる家庭のモデルが、どこにありますか。天上世界の王国と、その 王権世界に対応できる地上での天国単位の家庭が、どこにあるのかという話です。それは、先生が教えたもの以外にはありません。私たちが「頭翼思想」を主張 するのは、アダムとエバが衝突する要因を統一的基盤の上で解決し、本然的な家庭の基礎を準備しようということです。それが「頭翼思想」の基盤になるので す。


19　東洋と西洋を誰が一つにするのでしょうか。先生しかいません。キリスト教文明圏と東洋思想文明圏を中心として、仏教、儒教、イスラームを連合させた 背景、その大きな背景を消化できる、世界平和のための宗教連合をつくっておきました。その次に、政治風土では「世界平和連合」をつくり、西欧社会とキリス ト教社会が東洋と出会う準備をしているのです。政治的には「頭翼思想」と「神主義」を中心として、超国家的理念で世界の政治風土を一つにして、平和世界に 向かうのです。


20　今は緩衝地帯に置かれています。イデオロギー、すなわち価値観の没落によって、世界が収拾できない状態になりました。緩衝地帯に入った難しいこの混 乱時代に、主体牲をもった価値観が一つもないというのです。それをもつことができ、それを成し遂げることができるのは、私たちが主張する「頭翼思想」と 「神主義」しかありません。これが最後の価値観を代表できる時代に入るというのです。
 「神主義」は、絶対的な価値です。今まで、人間的な幸えで騒ぎ立てましたが、今からは人間中心から神様中心に移っていきます。神様は絶対者です。絶対者に は絶対的な考えがあります。今まで誰も、このような内容を知りませんでした。数多くの宗教が文化的な背景になっていても、「神主義」を知らなかったので す。
 「神主義」というとき、主義というものは生活様式を意味します。個人的な生活様式、家庭的な生活様式、社会的な生活様式、国家的な生活様式、世界的な生活 様式、天宙的な生活様式など、体系的様式において、理想的な宗教的内容はありませんでした。しかし、統一教会がこの地上に出現することによって、「頭翼思 想」を宣布し、「神主義」を宣布するようになったのです。


21　アメリカには、ソ連の共産党に勝つことができる思想がありません。先生の「頭翼思想」を中心として「神主義」で武装するようになれば、経済基盤とと もに内外が一つになり、先生の指導を受けて神様の垂直方向、直線方向に行くようになります。垂直は直線と通じます。直線方向に従って、本然的創造理想の基 準に向かって、世界が一つの家庭を連結させた兄弟的版図を成就することによって、世界平和圏ができます。政治と宗教を結合させるために、宗教圏は心的世界 を代表したものなので、「世界平和宗教連合」をつくり、世界の政治圏を中心としては「世界平和連合」をつくって、これを一つにするのです。


22　今までの数多くの主義は、不変の方向を取ることができませんでした。アメリカはアメリカだけを中心として、ソ連はソ連だけを中心として、民主主義は 民主主義だけを中心として、共産主義は共産主義だけを中心として進んできたのです。宗教もそれと同じでした。それは、神様が願われる方向ではありません。 一時も同じ方向を取ることができず、すべて東西南北にそれぞれ分かれたのです。今までは、どんな組織、どんな責任者、どんな国家も神様が願われる方向をつ かむことができませんでした。ですから、これからは、個人、家庭、社会、国家、世界、天宙など、すべてのものは、永遠不変の方向性をつかまなければなりま せん。そのようなものを代表したものが「頭翼思想」であり、「神主義」なのです。


23　韓国の地から世界的な指導者たちを輩出して、統一の世界、平和の世界である地上楽園を成就しなければなりません。祖国の統一はもちろん、東西の文化 的差異と南北の貧富の格差を「神主義」と「頭翼思想」で解消し、愛を中心とした人類大家族社会である、平和の世界を建設していかなければならないのです。


24　民主世界は右翼を代表し、共産世界は左翼を代表します。これらが今、崩れつつあります。両世界とも中心がありません。中心とは何ですか。これから必 要なものは、「統一思想」であり、「神主義」だと、先生が宣布しました。いかなるヒューマニズムも、神様のみ前に出ることはできません。「神主義」しかあ りません。神様だけが絶対的であり、永遠の中心です。「頭翼思想」だけが全人類の中心になることができます。真の霊界と肉界の中心となるのは、「真の父母 主義」なのです。


25　この世の中には、宗教文化圏と歴史的文化圏、民族文化圏が残っています。宗教文化圏は神様の生活から出発したものです。ですから、「神主義」を実現 できるのが宗教文化圏です。これは、東西南北の文化背景を収拾するためのものです。その次には、左翼と右翼が闘っているので、これを収拾しようというのが 「頭翼思想」です。「神主義」では宗教を統一するのであり、人間世界の哲学思潮と苦しみうめくこの世界を収拾しようというのが「頭翼思想」です。

9 What is head-wing thought? It is to guide us to Godism. Why do we seek Godism? We do so to start anew with the ideology of peace. Godism means that we meet God and become one with Him in love. We then start anew through the peace-centered way of thinking. That is how the basis for the establishment of the kingdom of heaven on earth, as it was meant to be, will emerge. Those who live their entire lives in that kingdom will certainly enter the eternal world without any formalities. (206-133, 1990.10.03)


10 The path of restoration is not easy. This is the era marking the end of left- wing and right-wing divisions. As Jesus breathed his last, situated between thieves on his left and right, he left lasting parental grief behind on earth. Therefore it is through parental thought and head-wing thought that we make God our center and free ourselves from the realm of accusation from both the left and the right. We then debate over the realm of unity, turn around and return to create an environment in which we can march forward without limit. If we fail to do that, God’s kingdom will not emerge. This is that time. This is why I have come forward with Godism and head-wing ideology and am building peace between the ideologies of the two brothers. (169-214, 1987.10.31)


11 What is the “head-wing” ideology that we talk about in the Unification Church? The left and right wings fight if there is no head, don’t they? A combined ideology can appear if we join the head-wing, left-wing and right-wing ideologies. What would be the subject partner of such a combined ideology? Think about it all you want, but the head contains the root of the nervous system. The subject partner cannot appear except in the head. Then what, or who, is this root of all roots? This is something you do not know. The root of all roots is God. head-wing thought comes from God. That is why the original mind, which takes the highest position within us, finds satisfaction in it. 12 The Unification Church has a headwing movement dedicated to the unification of thought. Left and right refer to wings. But the head is not a wing. Just as the word “left” refers to one side, you should think of “head-wing” as meaning the direction the head is facing. Jesus carried out a new work of global separation on the cross. With Jesus at the center, three global realms separated. There were the realms on the right and left, namely, the thief on his right and the thief on his left, and the realm of Barabbas. In the Last Days, there are the right, the left, a representative of Jesus and a representative of Barabbas. 13 We need a world-level way of thinking. We have nationalistic thoughts and ideas and, until now, communism has maintained racial limitations and national borders. We have overcome all that; we are supra-religious and supranational. We have gone beyond national- level thought to world-level thought and then to cosmic-level thought. What I am talking about goes beyond this world; it is about a nation and religion that transcend this world’s borders. The world needs such a way of thinking, so an ideology with God at the center had to appear. This is why Godism and head-wing thought have emerged. (334-055, 2000.09.28)


14 I am connecting all things through a supra-religious, supranational ideal that transcends the United Nations. The contemporary world lacks a transcendent ideal. There is nothing that can cross the barriers in the religious realm or national realm. To talk of transcendence is to talk about the peak realm where we return to God. I am the person standing there, as the Lord of the Second Advent and the True Parent. I use the head-wing ideology to take on both the left and the right. Head-wing thought deals with the world by placing God at the absolute center. Neither the religious realm nor the national realm offers any match for it. We need a way of thinking that goes beyond the barriers. Adam’s world, which possesses a unified culture, goes beyond the barriers. It is the realm of the culture of heart, and its connection requires perfection in front of God. That forms the base. Think of it as a staging area from which emerges a realm of heart that realizes oneness with God. It is like an army base. (341-190, 2001.01.01)


15 What is Godism? It is an ideology based on the idea of unity, used for our interreligious work and work among non-governmental organizations. How does it build unity? It does not do so by thought alone; love is needed. This calls for sacrifice and service, which are at the heart of all mainstream religions and traditional societies. 16 From now on, we begin with a God-centered concept. We do not begin with human-centered thoughts and concepts. When we have people at the center, there is no way forward. The only path of hope is the one where God sets out toward the final destination for the realization of His ideal. I am declaring that concept. With head-wing thought at the center, the left and right wings need to make a 180-degree reversal, become one and return to God’s world. Through God’s love we can create one world and realize world peace. (215-205, 1991.02.17)


17 If we look at history, Christianity drew a line between materialistic ideologies and a God-centered ideology. The ideologies emphasizing material things collapsed, but the Christian cultural realm, with God at the center, is also declining. Many Christians have bought into the secular humanist worldview. As a result, there is currently no compelling ideology that places God at the center. Materialists and humanists cannot run the world. God is the ruler of the world, so we can rule it only if we look at it from God’s viewpoint. No figure in authority, no matter how impressive his or her thought may be, can control the entire world. Neither the right wing nor the left wing can do so. This has set the stage for head-wing thought, which is the ideology of heart. What is the “heart” it builds from? It is the heart of a true child and the heart of a true spouse. You need to attend God as your Parent and maintain a family environment that builds blood ties with God. (198-217, 1990.02.03)


18 head-wing thought will inspire people to have the attitude of owners of unity and of righteous families. This will allow them to prepare a family foundation for the kingdom of heaven. The family is the building block for the kingdom of heaven. The family is a model from which we can expand to a larger scale. Where can we find the family model necessary to realize the kingdom of heaven? What I am asking is, where is the family prototype for the kingdom of heaven on earth? In that family unit, you have the kingdom of the heavenly world, which is able to become the counterpart to that royal authority in the world. It is found only in my teachings. We are advocating headwing thought to serve as a unified foundation on which to address the dynamics that brought about conflict between Adam and Eve. This will prepare the groundwork for a family built on the original model. That is the basis for head-wing thought. (226-134, 1992.02.02)


19 Who can bind East and West together? I alone can do that. I have created the Inter-Religious Federation for World Peace, which can assimilate and integrate the Christian and Islamic civilizations, and also the Eastern civilizations based on Buddhism and Confucianism. Next, in the political sphere, I created the Federation for World Peace. I have made preparations for Western, Christian society to connect with the East, and am now waiting for this to come to fruition. Politically, I will harmonize the global political climate through a supranational worldview centered on head-wing thought and Godism. Thus, we will move toward a peaceful world. 20 Due to the decline of ideologies and value systems, the world is out of control and we find ourselves in limbo. It is a difficult age, characterized by chaos. The only value system that can take the leading position is that of head-wing thought, or Godism, that we are discussing. The age we are entering will present the ultimate value system, the absolute values of Godism. Until today, prominent voices have been clamoring based on humanistic thinking, but now we are transitioning from a human- centered to a God-centered focus. God is an absolute being. An absolute being has absolute thinking. No one has understood this. We have numerous religions with their cultural backgrounds, but they did not know Godism. The “- ism” in Godism means “way of living.” Among all the ways of living, whether individualist, familial, societal, national, global or cosmic, whatever systems you like, there has been no ideal religious substance. But with the advent of the Unification Church on earth, headwing thought and Godism have been introduced. (203-026, 1990.06.14)


21 America has no ideology that can defeat the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. If America is armed with Godism, rooted in head-wing thought, Godism and free-market capitalism will become like inner and outer halves. Then, through my guidance, America can progress in a perpendicular line straight toward God. If America follows a straight line to the original standard of God’s ideal of creation, the world can achieve a dominion of brotherhood in which all people are connected as one family, and a realm of peace. To unite politics with religion, as body and mind, I created the Inter-Religious Federation for World Peace, representing the religious world, and the Federation for World Peace, representing the political realm. 22 Many ideologies have appeared until now, but none has maintained an unchanging direction. The United States and the Soviet Union, advocating democracy and communism, have focused on their own interests to this very day. The same has been true of religions. Religions have failed to achieve harmony among themselves in keeping with God’s desire. Instead, they have pursued directions as divergent as east, west, south and north. To this day, not one organization, leader or nation has been able to find the direction God desires. From now on, everything from the individual to the family, society, nation, world and cosmos should set its compass on one eternal and unchanging direction. Head-wing thought, Godism, represents that direction. (203-028, 1990.06.14)


23 Starting here in the land of Korea, we need to produce many world leaders who will work to build paradise on earth, a world of unity and peace. They need not only to unify our homeland, but also to dissolve the cultural differences between East and West and the economic gap between North and South. Through Godism, through the head-wing ideology, they need to build a world of peace, a society of one human family based on love. (195-052, 1989.11.03)


24 The democratic world represents the right wing and the communist world represents the left wing. Both are now collapsing. This is definitely true of the United States. Neither left nor right has a center. What is the center? What is needed from now is the head-wing ideology, Godism. That is what I have introduced. No form of humanism can advance in front of God. Since God alone is the absolute and eternal center, only Godism, head-wing thought, can provide a center for humanity. True Parents’ ideology is the true center for the spiritual and physical worlds. 25 The world is still divided into various cultural spheres based on religious, historical and ethnic differences. Since the religious cultural spheres began from God, we can more readily substantiate God’s ideology in those areas. They are needed to guide the cultures of the East, West, South and North. Likewise, the head-wing thought is needed to resolve the fighting between left-wing and right-wing thought. Godism can unite religions and head-wing thought can dominate humanistic philosophical trends, to alleviate the difficulties faced by this suffering world. (204-081, 1990.07.01)
