Summary:
Women likewise must be dignified, not malicious gossips, but temperate and faithful in all things. Deacons must be faithful to their wives and manage their children and households well. Those who serve well as deacons gain honorable standing and greater confidence in their faith in Christ Jesus.
Teaching:
This passage concerns women who serve in the church. Even if they are not overseers or deacons, women who participate in the work of the church should demonstrate certain qualities. They should be dignified, respectable, and godly in both faith and conduct. They should not slander others or create division, but should be restrained in speech and faithful in all things.
Those who serve well as deacons, managing their households well and faithfully caring for the church, grow to a higher level of spiritual maturity and gain fearless confidence in their faith.
