    2. 약초의 비유

         (1) 차별이 있는 비유

    22.

       迦葉當知      譬如大雲      起於世間      徧覆一切

       慧雲含潤      電光晃曜      雷聲遠震      令衆悅豫

       日光掩蔽      地上淸凉      靉靆垂布      如可承攬

    가섭이여, 마땅히 알라.

    비유하면 큰 구름이 이 세간에 일어나서

    모든 세계를 두루 덮어서 지혜의 구름이 비를 머금고

    번갯불은 번쩍이며 우레 소리는 멀리까지 진동하여

    여러 사람들을 기쁘게 하느니라.

    햇빛을 가리어서 땅은 서늘하여지고

    뭉게구름은 드리워서 두 손으로 잡을 듯하니라.

    Kashyapa, you should understand

    that it is like a great cloud

    that rises up in the world

    and covers it all over.

    This beneficient cloud is laden with moisture,

    the lighting gleams and flashes,

    and the sound of thunder reverberates afar,

    causing the multitude to rejoice.

    The sun's rays are veiled and hidden,

    a clear coolness comes over the land;

    masses of darkness descend and spread-

    you can almost touch them.

          you should understand; 마땅히 알라

          it is like; 비유하면

          a great cloud; 큰 구름이

          in the world; 이 세간에

          that rises up; 일어나서

          covers it all over; 모든 세계를 두루 덮어서

          This beneficient cloud; 지혜의 구름이

          is laden with moisture; 비를 머금고

          the lighting; 번갯불은

          gleams and flashes; 번쩍이며

          the sound of thunder; 우레 소리는

          reverberates afar; 멀리까지 진동하여

          causing the multitude to rejoice; 여러 사람들을 기쁘게 하느니라

          The sun's rays; 햇빛을

          are veiled and hidden; 가리어서

          the land; 땅은

          a clear coolness comes over; 서늘하여지고

          masses of darkness; 뭉게구름은

          descend and spread; 드리워서

          you can almost touch them; 잡을 듯하느니라
