천성경 (증) - 427. 남북통일은 참사랑으로

20 21세기에 바랄 수 있는 비전이 무엇이겠느냐? 그것은 평화의 세계, 통일의 세계, 하나의 세계입니다. 세계도 하나의 새로운 평화의 세계, 통일의 세계를 바라고 있고, 우리 민족도 남북통일을 바라고 있습니다. 더 나아가서 나 자신은 어떠냐? 세계에 평화가 아무리 찾아왔다 하더라도 우리나라가 분단되어 위험수위를 넘는 입장에 있다면 우리나라는 세계평화에 대해서 상관할 수 없습니다. 남북통일을 가져왔다고 하더라도 우리 개인에 있어서 몸과 마음이 갈등하는 자리에 있다면, 남북이 통일된 평화의 대한민국이 나 자신에게 이상의 국가가 될 수 없습니다. 그러므로 세계의 평화가 있기 전에 나라의 평화를 준비해야 되고, 나라의 평화가 오기 전에 개인의 평화를 준비해야 됩니다.

21 통일교회는 나라보다도 먼저 백성을 위해서 싸워야 됩니다. 민족을 위해서 싸워야 됩니다. 그런데 민족을 볼 때 남북으로 갈라져 있습니다. 민족이 나뉘어 있으면 주권이 있다고 하더라도 일방적인 주권밖에 안 됩니다. 무엇보다도 중요한 것은 남북한을 능가하는 민족적 정신 기준을 어떻게 일원화하느냐 하는 것입니다. 이것이 금후의 통일교회가 힘써 나가야 할 과제입니다.

22 하나님이 원하시는 나라가 찾아지면 세계복귀는 순식간에 됩니다. 한 나라에서 세 나라만 넘게 될 때에는 네 나라가 됩니다. 그러면 세계에 사위기대 국가의 형태가 갖추어지기 때문에 사탄이 침범할 수 없는 사방의 방어성이 쌓아지게 됩니다. 그때에 비로소 평화의 세계, 천국의 옥토가 형성됩니다. 그것이 통일교회가 찾아 나가는 본향입니다. 그것을 위해서 우리의 정열을 바치고, 우리의 젊은 생을 투입하기 위해서 모인 무리가 통일의 무리입니다. 생의 노정을 가로막고 있는 악의 세력이 드세더라도 그것을 분쇄하고 해부해서, 샅샅이 뿌리를 뽑아서 한때에 처단하기 위한 결의를 다짐해야 할 사람들이 통일의 무리입니다.

23 지도하는 지도자는 강력히 내몰아서 현실 생활에 있어서 보다 이상적인 구조의 실적의 가치를 드높여야 됩니다. 통일교회는 모르지만, 통일교회의 실적을 보아서 국가나 혹은 세계가 공인할 수 있는 기준을 만들어야 합니다. 이것을 만들지 못하면 하나님의 뜻이고 무엇이고 이룰 수 없습니다. 그런 의미에서 한국을 찾아오는 인연과 국운, 모든 것을 대해 우리가 국가를 구하겠다는 새로운 신념과 절대적인 신앙을 가지고 세계를 구하기 전에는 죽을 수 없다고 해야 됩니다. 그런 신념의 결합운동이 통일교회를 중심삼은 주체사상이 되어 남한 땅을 움직이고 북한 땅을 움직인다면, 나라는 망하더라도 세계를 구할 수 있는 길은 남아집니다. 그래서 선생님이 다년간 주장해 온 것은 공산당이 나라를 위해 애국·애족하는 사상을 갖고 나온 통일교회를 보고 자기들보다 낫다고 증거할 수 있는 재료가 필요하다고 하는 것입니다.

24 피어린 역사적인 길을 개척해 나온 그 생활이 슬프고 비참하였지만, 그것이 자기 일신의 행복을 위한 것이 아니라 민족의 해방과 세계의 평화를 위한 하늘의 사자로서 그런 일을 했다면 이는 길이길이 역사에 남을 것입니다. 그 실적이 드높이 빛나게 될 때에 이 터전을 통하여 남북한의 해방은 물론이요, 아시아의 새로운 해방의 종소리가 울려 퍼질 것이고, 세계 해방의 기운이 여기서부터 솟구쳐 오를 것입니다.

25 선생님은 북한 땅에 들어가서 많은 고생을 했습니다. 그러나 선생님이 원수에게 몰려 흥남감옥에서 영어의 몸이 되어 처참한 고문을 받고, 비료 공장에 가서 죽을 고비를 넘기는 중노동도 했지만, ‘나는 망하지 않는다. 나의 명령에 따라 나의 불붙은 이 심정을 인계받은 모든 젊은이들이 불타는 가슴으로 폭탄을 안고 북한 땅을 향하여 총진군하는 한때가 올 것이다.’라는 이런 마음을 가지고 지냈습니다.

26 선생님이 삼팔선을 넘어오면서 하나님 앞에 기도한 것이 있습니다. ‘아버지여, 이 삼팔선을 다시 넘을 때에는 대한민국이 넘어와야 되겠습니다.’라고 눈물을 흘리며 기도했습니다. 선생님은 언제나 그때에 결의했던 내용을 잊지 않고 있습니다. 그래서 고향 땅을 그리면서 삼팔선을 넘어갔지만 평양에까지 가서도 고향에는 안 갔습니다. 갈 수 없었습니다. 선생님 자신이 다짐했던 사명을 완수하지 못하면 죽더라도 고향에 갈 수 없는 것이 선생님의 운명입니다. 그래서 감옥에서부터 혹은 비참한 운명길에서 배반당하고 민족이 원수시하는 길을 거쳐서 오늘날 이만한 기반을 닦은 것입니다.

27 우리의 최후의 결승점, 결승선이 어디냐? 그것은 삼팔선입니다. 이것을 넘어가야 합니다. 이것이 통일교회가 부딪쳐 넘어가야 할 최후의 결승선입니다. 그것을 넘기 위해서는 누구에게도 져서는 안 됩니다. 우리는 공산당 이상 돼야 합니다. 그 어떤 종교도 따를 수 없는 그런 실적을 갖추어 놓아야 됩니다. 선생님이 삼팔선을 넘으면서 하늘 앞에 결의하면서 기도하던 기준이 그런 것이었습니다. 내 고향의 부모 형제를 보지 못하고 남한 땅에 왔습니다. 감옥의 철창문을 열고 나오는 그날 ‘어머니!’ 하고 부르며 달려가고 싶었고, 나를 위하여 희생한 형님을 찾아가서 만나고 싶었고, 희생한 형제들을 만나고 싶었습니다. 그 마음은 인간으로서, 동물이 아닌 이상 그 누구에게나 있을 수 있는 마음이지만 그 길을 돌아설 수밖에 없었습니다. 이틀 이내에 갈 수 있는 거리였지만, 옛날에 인연되었던 사람들을 수습해서 북한을 등지고 남한 땅을 향하여 나온 것입니다.

28 선생님이 삼팔선을 넘을 때 남북통일을 내 손으로 이루겠다는 결의를 했듯이, 여러분도 가정에 들어가서 일족을 중심삼고 결의해야 됩니다. 아버지 어머니가 축복가정이면 더더욱 좋습니다. 3대를 중심삼고 아들딸까지 품어서 우리 가정이 아무리 어려운 수욕의 길을 가더라도 남북통일과 아시아의 통일은 내 손으로 이루겠다는 결의를 다짐하지 않으면 안 될 때가 된 것을 알아야 합니다.

29 우리의 과제는 조국통일입니다. 이는 우리의 숙명이요, 우리가 생애를 바쳐 이룩하여야 할 필생의 성업입니다. 선생님은 지금까지 하나님의 뜻을 따라 통일의 성업을 이루기 위한 일념으로 살아왔고, 나머지 일생도 오직 하나님의 뜻을 이루기 위한 일념으로 살아갈 것입니다. 통일을 염원하는 남북한 7천만 겨레 모두는 이제부터 갈등과 투쟁을 종식시키고, 화해와 사랑으로 민족의 동질성을 회복하는 일에 거족적으로 나서 주기를 바라는 바입니다. 총칼을 녹여 쟁기와 보습을 만들 때가 지금이고, 이제 통일조국의 밝은 신세기를 맞이할 준비를 서둘러야 되겠습니다.

30 세계는 민주세계와 공산세계로 갈라져 있는데 민주세계는 유심사관이며 마음 쪽이고, 공산세계는 유물사관이며 몸 쪽입니다. 이렇게 가르지 않을 수 없습니다. 이 두 세계가 지금 큰 파문을 일으키고 있는데 이 파문이 어디에서부터 시작됐느냐 하면 여러분 자신에서부터 시작되었습니다. 여러분 자신이 그 파문의 씨입니다. 이것이 문제입니다. 그러니 여러분은 세계의 어떤 정치가로 말미암아 이 세계가 통일된다고 생각하지 말라는 것입니다. 통일 방안은 어디에 있느냐? 그것은 외부에 있는 것이 아니라 내부에 있습니다. 통일 방안은 내 몸과 마음의 싸움을 평정시켜서 마음이 앞서게 해야 됩니다. 그렇게 해서 마음이 가자고 하는 대로 나 자체가 가야 되고, 가정이 가야 되고, 사회가 가야 되고, 나라가 가야 되고, 세계가 가야 됩니다. 이렇게 되면 통일은 자동적으로 되는 것입니다.

31 남북통일은 비단 지금의 국가문제를 걸고 말할 수 있는 것만도 아닙니다. 이것은 크게 하면 세계적인 문제요, 작게 하면 개인의 문제에도 연결됩니다. 세계의 통일이 있기 전에 국가의 통일이 있어야 됩니다. 국가의 통일이 있기 전에 가정의 통일이 있어야 합니다. 부부가 아무리 행복을 바라더라도 하나되지 못할 때는 그 가정이 행복할 수 없습니다. 또 그 가정이 행복하길 바라더라도 내 개인이 행복하지 않으면 그 가정의 행복도 불가능한 것입니다. 옛말에 ‘가화만사성’이란 말이 있습니다. 제일 중요한 것은 부부가 하나되어 평화의 가정을 이루는 것입니다. 이것이 모든 해결의 기점이 됩니다.

32 통일의 방안이 어디에 있느냐? 위해 주는 데에 있습니다. 사랑이 깃든 것은 무엇이든지 받고 싶은 좋은 것이기 때문에, 그 좋을 수 있는 입장에서 영원히 줄 수 있는 자리에 서게 되면 북한도 통일됩니다. 현재 북한 백성들이 사는 이상의 입장에서 영원히 줄 수 있는 기반만 잡게 되면 공산당의 선전 따위는 먹히지 않습니다. 그들이 사는 만큼도 못살면서 주겠다고 하면 안 됩니다. 그들이 받지 않는다고 하는 것입니다. 더 좋은 입장에서 주어야 됩니다. 대한민국이 살 수 있는 길은 간단합니다. 대한민국이 경제 분야, 생활 분야, 지식수준 등의 모든 분야에서 월등해서 영원히 줄 수 있는 입장에 서게 되면 완전히 하나됩니다. 하나되지 말라고 해도 하나되는 것입니다.

33 하나님이 선생님을 세운 것도 천륜의 갈 길 때문입니다. 생애를 통해서 그 길을 걸어가게 한 것입니다. 공산당을 때려 부수기 위한 것이 아닙니다. 공산당까지 구원하자는 것입니다. 선생님이 미국 워싱턴 대회가 끝난 후에 모스크바 대회 개최를 선언했을 때에 총칼을 가지고 선언한 것이 아닙니다. ‘나를 끌어내려서 너희들 발밑에 세워라. 나는 올라간다.’라고 했습니다. 올라갈 것입니다. 남북의 통일도 총칼을 가지고는 안 됩니다. 하나님을 위하는 심정적 터전을 따라서 가는 것입니다. 본질적인 평화의 노정을 벗어나서는 불가능합니다. 천운이 화합해 주지 않습니다.

34 하나님의 대신 자리에서 북한 김일성을 찾아갔습니다. 그래서 ‘하나님에게 복종해야 된다.’라고 해서 밑바닥부터 흔들어 놓아야 합니다. 딴 방법이 없습니다. ‘여러분은 두익사상, 하나님주의를 따라야지, 딴 길은 없다!’라며 깨끗하게 결론을 내린 것입니다. 결국은 선생님 책임을 다했습니다. 죽고 사는 것은 하늘 앞에 맡기는 것입니다. 지금도 창조의 능력을 발휘할 수 있는 하나님이라는 것입니다. 하나님은 신비한 방법으로 역사하십니다.

35 개인에서부터 가정·종족·민족·국가·세계, 모든 사상계로부터 반대를 받으면서 이 길을 나왔지만 이제는 다 극복했습니다. 김일성까지도 극복했습니다. 김일성의 그 담벼락을 허는 것은 인간의 힘으로는 안 됩니다. 하늘의 사랑만이 뚫을 수 있다고 보는 것입니다. 이번에 선생님이 알고 나오던 이 길이 참이었다는 것을 여실히 깨달았습니다. 여기에서만 완전한 승리가 있지, 그 외에는 완전한 승리가 없다는 결론을 내릴 수 있었습니다. 그래서 선생님이 갔던 북한에서는 재창조 역사의 기적이 벌어진 것입니다.

36 지금 남북으로 갈라진 것도 개인이 하나님의 사랑을 통해서 사랑을 중심삼고 하나되어야 하는데 하나 못 되었기 때문입니다. 부부끼리도 갈라졌습니다. 이렇게 갈라진 것을 참사랑으로 통일하자는 것입니다. 부자간도 갈라지고 형제간도 갈라졌습니다. 민족과 민족, 동족끼리 피를 흘리는 것은 참사랑이 없기 때문에 그런 것입니다. 그렇지만 세계적 정세를 업고 나타난 그 기반이 대한민국과 북한 이상의 기준을 중심삼고 나타나게 될 때는 대한민국과 북한은 흡수되어 들어가야 됩니다. 국가 기준이 아니라 세계적 운세권 내에서 남북통일권이 벌어지게 됩니다.

37 여러분 가정이 종족을 중심삼고 완전히 하나가 될 때는 남북통일은 문제가 되지 않습니다. 정당, 자기 파당을 중심한 정당정치 또한 성립이 안 됩니다. 조직이 힘입니다. 누가 나라를 사랑하고, 누가 아시아를 생각하고, 누가 하늘땅을 사랑하느냐? 우리 이상 할 자가 없다고 생각합니다. 대한민국을 어디로 끌고 가야 됩니까? 사랑의 동산으로 끌고 가야 됩니다. 권력의 동산이 아닙니다. 술책의 동산이 아닙니다. 진정한 사랑의 동산으로 남북을 끌고 갈 때 남북은 여기에서 치리되는 것입니다. 부모를 중심삼은 형제의 인연을 갖고 소화하지 않으면 평화의 세계는 안 나옵니다.

38 조국광복은 남한만이 아닙니다. 남북한을 중심삼고 4대 강국권 내에 있는 각 국토를 사랑의 힘으로 소화해야 됩니다. 그것은 참다운 사랑의 힘으로만 소화할 수 있습니다. 이것은 영원불변입니다. 억천만년 전부터 우리 조상들이 원하던 사랑입니다. 이 시대에 수십억 인류가 찾고 있는 사랑입니다. 앞으로 영원히 후대들이 이 사랑을 중심삼고 전부 하나될 수 있는 공통분모가 국가의 차원을 넘어 세계적으로 이루어질 때, 하나님의 사랑을 중심삼고 통치하는 세계를 지상천국이라고 합니다. 그 세계를 만들자는 것입니다.

39 삼천리반도에 선생님의 정신이 어리지 않은 곳이 없습니다. 통일교회 신자를 통해서 전부 투입했습니다. 투입을 하다 보니 결실을 맺는 것입니다. 이제는 명실공히 이 역사시대에 드러날 수 있는 때가 되었습니다. 우리의 주체사상은 김일성 주체사상이나 민주주의, 공산주의 주체사상이 아니라 하나님을 중심한 사랑의 주체사상입니다.

40 새로운 주체사상, 중심이 모호한 개인의 몰락을 방지하고, 사회의 몰락을 방지하고, 중심이 없는 국가를 방지하고, 중심이 없는 세계를 방지하고, 중심이 없는 하나님의 섭리관을 방지할 수 있는 단 하나의 공식 궤도는 ‘위해 존재하는 원칙’입니다. 이것은 출발과 더불어 종착점까지, 하나님의 창조의 세계로부터 종착점까지 영원히 남아지는 진리요 원칙인 것을 기억해야 됩니다.

天聖経 (增) - 427. 南北統一は真の愛で

20　二十一世紀に期待するビジョンとは何でしょうか。それは、平和の世界、統一の世界、一つの世界です。世界も、一つの新しい平和の世界、統一の世界を 望んでいて、私たちの民族も南北統一を望んでいます。
さらには、「私」自身はどうでしょうか。いくら世界に平和が訪れたとしても、私たちの国が分断されて危険水位を越える立場にあるならば、私たちの国は世界 平和とは関わりがないのです。また、南北統一がもたらされたとしても、私自身において心と体が葛藤する立場にいるとすれば、南北が統一された平和の大韓民 国も、私には理想の国家となることはできません。ですから、世界の平和の前に国の平和を準備しなければならず、国の平和の前に個人の平和を準備しなければ ならないのです。

21　統一教会は、国よりも先に、民のために闘わなければなりません。民族のために闘わなければなりません。ところが民族を見るとき、南北に分かれていま す。民族が分かれていれば、主権があるといっても、一方的な主権にしかならないのです。何よりも重要なことは、韓国と北朝鮮を凌駕する民族的精神基準を、 どのように一元化させるのかということです。これが、今後の統一教会が力を入れるべき課題なのです。

22　神様が願われる国が取り戻されれば、世界復帰は一瞬のうちにできるのです。一つの国から三つの国を越える時には、四つの国になります。そうすれば、 世界に四位基台国家の形態が整えられるので、サタンが侵犯できない四方の防御城が築かれるようになります。その時に、初めて平和の世界、天国の沃上が形成 されるのです。それが統一教会の求めていく本郷です。そのために、私たちの情熱を捧げ、私たちの若い生を投入するために集まった群れが統一の群れです。生 の路程を塞いでいる悪の勢力が手ごわくても、それを粉砕し、解体して、くまなく根を抜いてしまい、一時に遮断することを決意し、誓う人々が統一の群れなの です。

23　指導者は、食口たちを強力に追い立てて、現実生活において、より理想的な構造をもつ実績を築き、その価値を高めなければなりません。統一教会は実績 を通して国家や世界が公認できる基準をつくらなければなりません。これをつくることができなければ、神様のみ旨も何も、成し遂げることはできません。
そのような意味で、韓国を訪れる縁と国運、あらゆるものと向き合い、私たちが国家を救おうという新しい信念と絶対的な信仰をもちながら、「世界を救うまで は死ぬことができない」と考えなければなりません。そのような信念が結合した運動をすることによって、統一教会を中心とする主体的な思想が韓国の地を動か し、北朝鮮の地を動かすならば、国は滅びても世界を救うことができる道は残ります。ですから、先生は、国のために愛国、愛族の思想をもって歩む統一教会を 共産党が見て、自分たちよりも優れていると認証できる材料が必要だと長年にわたって主張しているのです。

24　血のにじむ歴史的な道を開拓してきたその生活は、悲しく悲惨でしたが、それが自分の一身の幸福のためではなく、民族の解放と世界の平和のために天の 使者としてそのようなことをしたとすれば、これは永遠に歴史に残るでしょう。その実績が高らかに光り輝く時に、この基盤を通して韓半島の解放はもちろん、 アジアの新しい解放の鐘の音が鳴り響くのであり、世界解放の気運がここから湧き上がってくるのです。

25　先生は、北朝鮮の地に入って、たくさんの苦労をしました。しかし、先生は怨讐に追われ、興南収容所でとらわれの身になって凄惨な拷問を受け、肥料工 場に行って死の峠を越える重労働もしましたが、「私は滅びない。私の命令に従って、私の燃えるこの心情を受け継いだ世界のすべての若者たちが、爆発するよ うな燃える心を抱いて北朝鮮の地に向かって総進軍する一時が来るだろう」という、このような思いをもって過ごしたのです。

26　先生が三十八度線を越えながら、神様のみ前に祈ったことがあります。「お父様、この三十八度線を再び越える時には、大韓民国が越えてこなければなり ません」と涙を流しながら祈りました。先生はいつも、その時に決意した内容を忘れずにいます。それで、故郷の地を恋い慕いながら三十八度線を越えました が、平壌にまで行っても故郷には行きませんでした。行くことができませんでした。先生自身が誓った使命を果たすことができなければ、死んでも故郷に行くこ とができないのが先生の運命です。それで、監獄から、あるいは悲惨な運命の道で裏切られ、民族が怨讐視する道を経て、今日、これほどの基盤を築いたので す。

27　私たちの最後の決勝点、決勝線はどこでしょうか。それは三十八度線です。これを越えなければなりません。これが、統一教会がぶつかって越えるべき最 後の決勝線です。それを越えるためには、誰にも負けてはいけません。私たちは、共産党以上にならなければなりません。そのいかなる宗教もついていくことの できない、そのような実績を備えておかなければなりません。私が三十八度線を越えながら天のみ前に決意して祈った基準が、そのようなことでした。
 私の故郷の父母、兄弟に会うことができずに、韓国の地に来ました。監獄の鉄格子の扉を開けて出てくるその日、「お母さん！」と叫んで走っていきたいと思 い、私のために犠牲になった兄を訪ねて会いたいと思い、犠牲にした兄弟たちに会いたいと思ったのです。その思いは人間として、動物ではない以上、誰にでも あるものですが、その道に背を向けるしかありませんでした。二日以内に行くことができる距離でしたが、それまでに縁をもった人々を収拾して、北朝鮮に背を 向けて韓国の地に向かってきたのです。

28　先生が三十八度線を越える時、南北統一を自分の手で成し遂げようと決意したように、皆さんも家庭に入って、一族を中心として決意しなければなりませ ん。父と母が祝福家庭なら、さらに良いのです。三代を中心として、息子、娘まで抱いて、私たちの家庭がいくら困難な恥辱の道を行っても、南北統一とアジア の統一は自分の手で成し遂げよう、と誓う時になったことを知らなければなりません。

29　私たちの課題は祖国統一です。これは、私たちの宿命であり、私たちが生涯を捧げて成し遂げるべき終生の聖業です。先生は今まで、神様のみ旨に従って 統一の聖業を成し遂げようという一念で生き、残りの人生も、ただ神様のみ旨を成し遂げる一念で生きていくでしょう。
 統一を念願する韓半島の七千万の同胞は、今から葛藤と闘争を終息させ、和解と愛で民族の同質性を回復することに民族を挙げて立ち上がることを願う次第で す。銃刀を溶かして鎌とすきをつくる時が今であり、今、統一祖国の明るい新世紀を迎える準備を急がなければなりません。

30　世界は、民主世界と共産世界に分かれていますが、民主世界は唯心史観なので心の側であり、共産世界は唯物史観なので体の側です。このように分けざる を得ません。この二つの世界が今、大きな波紋を起こしていますが、この波紋がどこから始まったのかといえば、皆さん自身から始まりました。皆さん自身がそ の波紋の種です。これが問題です。ですから、皆さんは、世界のどこかの政治家によってこの世界が統一されると考えてはいけません。
 統一の方案は、どこにあるのでしょうか。それは、外部にあるのではなく、内部にあります。統一の方案は、「私」の心と体の争いを平定させて、心が先に立つ ようにしなければなりません。そのようにして、心が「行こう」と言うとおりに、私の体が行かなければならず、家庭が行かなければならず、社会が行かなけれ ばならず、国が行かなければならず、世界が行かなければなりません。このようになれば、統一は自動的に成し遂げられるのです。

31　南北統一は、単に今の国家だけの問題ではありません。これは、大きくいえば世界的な問題であり、小さくいえば個人の問題にも連結されます。世界の統 一の前に、国家の統一がなければなりません。国家の統一の前に、家庭の統一がなければなりません。いくら夫婦が幸福を願っても、一つになれないときは、そ の家庭が幸福になれません。また、その家庭が幸福であることを願っても、「私」個人が幸福でなければ、その家庭の幸福も不可能なのです。昔の言葉で、「家 和万事成(いえわしてばんじなる)」という言葉があります。最も重要なことは、夫婦が一つになって平和の家庭を築くことです。これがすべての解決の基点に なるのです。

32　統一の方案は、どこにあるのでしょうか。他のために与えるところにあります。愛が宿ったものは、何でも喜んでもらいたいものなので、その良いものを 永遠に与えることができる立場に立つようになれば、北朝鮮も統一されます。現在の北朝鮮の国民たちの生活よりも豊かな立場で、永遠に与えることができる基 盤さえつかむようになれば、共産党の宣伝などは受け入れられないのです。彼らの生活水準より貧しいのに、与えると言ってはいけません。彼らが「受け入れな い」と言うのです。より豊かな立場で与えなければなりません。
 大韓民国が生きることのできる道は簡単です。大韓民国が経済分野、生活分野、知識水準などのあらゆる分野で群を抜き、永遠に与えることができる立場に立つ ようになれば、完全に一つになります。一つになってはいけない」と言っても、一つになるのです。

33　神様が先生を立てたのは、天倫の行くべき道のためです。生涯を通してその道を歩んでいくようにしたのです。共産党を滅ぼすためではありません。共産 党まで救援しようというのです。先生は、アメリカのワシントン大会が終わったあとに、モスクワ大会の開催を宣言した時、銃や剣をもって宣言したのではあり ません。「私を引き下ろして、あなたたちの足もとに立てなさい。私は上がっていく」と言いました。上がっていくでしょう。南北の統一も、銃や剣を用いては できません。神様のために生きる心情的基盤に従っていくのです。本質的な平和の路程を外れては不可能です。天運が和合してくれません。

34　神様の代身の立場で、北朝鮮の金日成主席を訪ねていきました。それで「神様に服従しなければならない」と言って、根底から揺さぶらなければなりませ ん。別の方法はありません。「皆さんは『頭翼思想』と『神主義」に従わなければならないのであって、別の道はない！」と言いながら、はっきりと結論を下し たのです。結局は、先生の責任を果たしました。生死の問題は天に任せるのです。今でも創造の能力を発揮できる神様です。神様は、神秘的な方法で役事される のです。

35　個人から家庭、氏族、民族、国家、世界、あらゆる思想界から反対を受けながらこの道を進んできましたが、今はみな克服しました。金日成主席までも克 服しました。金日成主席のその壁を崩すのは、人間の力ではできません。天の愛だけが突き抜けることができるのです。今回、先生が知って歩んできたこの道 が、真実であったことをはっきりと悟りました。ここでのみ完全な勝利があるのであって、そのほかには完全な勝利はないという結論を下すことができました。 ですから、先生が行った北朝鮮においては、再創造の役事の奇跡が起こったのです。

36　今、南北に分かれているのは、個人が神様の愛を通して、愛を中心として一つにならなければならないのに、一つになれなかったからです。夫婦同士も分 かれています。このように分かれたものを、真の愛で統一しようというのです。父子の間も分かれ、兄弟の間も分かれました。民族と民族、同族同士血を流すの は、真の愛がないからです。しかし、世界的情勢を背負って現れたその基盤が、大韓民国と北朝鮮以上の基準を中心として現れる時は、大韓民国と北朝鮮は吸収 されていかなければなりません。国家基準ではなく、世界的運勢圏内で南北統一圏が広がるようになるのです。

37　皆さんの家庭が氏族を中心として完全に一つになる時は、南北統一は問題になりません。政党、自分の派閥を中心とした政党政冶もまた、成り立ちませ ん。組織が力です。誰が国を愛し、誰がアジアを考え、誰が天地を愛するのでしょうか。私たち以上にする人はいないと思います。大韓民国をどこに引っ張って いかなければなりませんか。愛の国に引っ張っていかなければなりません。権力の園ではありません。術策の園ではありません。真の愛の園に南北を引っ張って いく時、南北はここで統治されるのです。父母を中心とした兄弟の関係をもって消化しなければ、平和の世界は現れません。

38　祖国光復は韓国だけでありません。韓半島を中心として四大強国圏内にある各国家を愛の力で消化しなければなりません。それは、真の愛の力によっての み消化することができます。これは永遠不変です。数千万年前から、私たちの先祖が願っていた愛です。この時代に数十億の人類が求めている愛です。今後、永 遠に後代たちが、この愛を中心としてすべて一つになる共通分母が、国家の次元を越えて世界的につくられた時、神様の愛を中心として統治する世界を地上天国 といいます。その世界をつくろうというのです。

39　三千里半島(韓半島)で、先生の精神が宿らない所はありません。統一教会の信者を通して、すべて投入しました。投入してみると、結実するのです。今 は、名実共にこの歴史時代に現れる時になりました。私たちの主体思想は、金日成主席の主体思想や民主主義、共産主義の主体思想ではなく、神様を中心とした 愛の主体思想なのです。

40　中心が曖昧な個人の没落を防止し、社会の没落を防止し、中心がない国家を防止し、中心がない世界を防止し、中心がない神様の摂理観を防止することの できるただ一つの公式軌道は、ために生きる原則です。これは、出発とともに終着点まで、神様の創造の世界から終着点まで、永遠に残る真理であり、原則であ ることを皆さんは覚えておかなければなりません。

20 What is our vision as we look toward the twenty-first century? It is a vision of world peace and unity, a vision of one unified world. The world’s people are seeking a new, unified and peaceful world. The Korean people are seeking the unification of North and South Korea. What about each of you? Suppose the world were peaceful and flourishing, but our nation remained divided and under threat of danger. In that case, our nation would have nothing to do with the world’s peace. Likewise, suppose North and South Korea were peaceful, but our minds and bodies remained in conflict. In that case, the unified Korea would not be our ideal nation. That is why we have to attain peace on the national level before we talk about world peace; likewise we have to attain peace on the individual level before we talk about it with regard to our nation. 21 The Unification Church needs to fight for the people even before the nation does. We have to fight for our people. However, look at the Korean people, divided between the South and the North. When a people is divided, each side upholds only a one-sided sovereignty. The most important issue is how to generate one unified spirit that transcends the political division of North and South Korea. From now on, the Unification Church should strive to accomplish this task. (49-095, 1971.10.09)

22 Once we recover the nation that God is seeking, the restoration of the world will take place rapidly. After restoring one nation we can restore three more nations; this adds up to four nations, which will form a four-position foundation. It will be a wall of global defense facing all four directions, which Satan cannot penetrate. Only then can a world of peace be built, a world with the fertile soil for heaven to finally flourish. Such is the original homeland that the Unification Church is striving to recover. We Unificationists are gathered to invest our passion and youth for this cause. Although the evil forces that are attempting to block us are strong, we will shatter them, dismantle them, and uproot them completely. Let us resolve to do so, and eradicate them once and for all. (056-290, 1972.05.18)

23 Sometimes a leader has to push his people to challenge their limitations so that they can achieve their best results and display the highest of values in daily life. We in the Unification Church need to create a standard of achievement that the nation and the world will publicly recognize. Unless we attain this standard, we will not have accomplished anything, let alone God’s Will. Accordingly, we must be ready to deal with any situation that befalls Korea, including whatever affects its national fortune and international relationships. Let us resolve anew with absolute faith not to die before we save the nation and world. If we can create a movement of solidarity with such a conviction based on our own Ju-che (subject-partner) thought in the Unification Church, we can move North Korea and South Korea. Then, even if Korea declines, a path to save the world will remain. This is why I have been emphasizing that we need to bring substantial results and supporting materials that can convince the Communist Party that the Unification teaching, which emphasizes love for the nation and love for its people, is superior to their way. They have to acknowledge this. (59-153, 1972.07.16)

24 The path of history is stained with blood. Your life as a pioneer on that path may have been sorrowful and miserable. However, if you walk that path not for your own sake but as Heaven’s emissary, seeking to liberate people and build peace in the world, you will be remembered for eons. Your achievements will shine brightly as the foundation upon which North-South unification will naturally take place. Then a new sound of freedom will ring out across Asia. From that point will spring a new energy that will bring liberation to the world. (59-153, 1972.07.16)

25 I suffered bitterly when I went to North Korea. Enemies pummeled me, tortured me mercilessly and incarcerated me in Hungnam prison. I endured death-dealing hard labor at that chemical fertilizer factory. But I thought, “I shall not perish. The time will come when the young people of the world will inherit my burning heart, and at my word they will advance toward North Korea with explosive love that casts out fear.” I nurtured this determination in my heart during those times of tribulation. (22-157, 1969.02.02)

26 When I crossed the thirty-eighth parallel to go to North Korea, I offered a prayer to God: “Heavenly Father, the next time I cross this thirty-eighth parallel, South Korea will have to come with me.” I offered that prayer with tears, and I have not forgotten the vow I made that day. After crossing the border, even though I longed in my heart for my hometown, I stopped at Pyongyang, but was unable to go home. Unless I fulfilled the mission I had vowed to accomplish, I could not return home, even if on the verge of death. That was my destiny. That is why, although my path began in prison, and although my walk on this miserable path led my own people to brand me a public enemy, I have been able to establish this foundation today. 27 Where is our finish line? It is at the thirty-eighth parallel. We have to cross this finish line. It is the ultimate finish line that the Unification Church must fight to cross. To cross it, we have to outshine everyone. We have to surpass the Communist Party and exceed the achievements of all religions. This was my heart when I prayed to God while crossing the thirty-eighth parallel. I came back to South Korea without having seen my parents, or my brothers and sisters. When I was released from prison I was consumed with the desire to shout, “Mother!” and run into her arms. I wanted to see my older brother, who had sacrificed himself for me, as well as my other brothers and sisters, who also had sacrificed themselves for me in various ways. I am a human being, not a dumb animal, and these feelings surged in my heart. Nonetheless, I had to deny this surge of emotions. I could have visited them all, since they were only two days’ walk away. Yet instead I spent my time looking for the people I had met through my ministry. Then, turning my back on North Korea, I headed for the South. (62-136, 1972.09.17)

28 When I crossed the thirty-eighth parallel, I resolved to unite North and South Korea with my own hands. Together with your family, you need to make a similar resolution on behalf of your tribe. Ideally your father and mother should be a blessed couple. Now is the time to resolve that with three generations of your family, including your children, you will unite North and South Korea and all of Asia. Resolve that no matter how arduous and difficult the path to unity may be, you will accomplish it with your own hands. You need to understand this well. (242-216, 1993.01.01)

29 Our task is to unify the homeland. It is our destiny and the great task for which we must devote our entire life. I have dedicated myself to this great task, according to God’s Will. For the remainder of my life as well, I shall devote myself entirely and exclusively to accomplishing God’s Will. I appeal to you, the seventy million people of North and . South Korea who wish for unification, to stop the discord and fighting, and from this time forth to devote yourselves to recovering your identity as one people through harmony and love. Now is the time to melt your guns and swords and turn them into hoes and plowshares, and hasten preparations to welcome the bright new era of the unified homeland. (224-255, 1991.12.07)

30 The world is currently divided into the communist and the democratic blocs. The democratic world, on the side of the mind, advocates idealism, while the communist world, on the side of the body, advocates materialism. In this way the world is divided into two camps, whose conflict is causing great unrest. Where does this commotion begin? It begins within each person. Each of us is the seed of this problem. This is why we should never think that a politician can unite the world. Where is the solution that leads to unification? It lies not with external institutions, but within you. The way to unity lies in establishing peace between your mind and body and having the mind take the lead. As an individual, you have to follow the mind’s lead. It is the same for the family, the society, the nation and the world. When that happens, unity comes naturally. (39-267, 1971.01.15)

31 The unification of North and South Korea cannot be discussed simply as a national issue. If you look at it from the broadest perspective, it is linked to the entire globe; viewed from the most fundamental perspective, it is linked to the problem of the individual. Before we can unite the world the nation must be united, and before we can unite the nation the family must be united. No matter how much a couple desires happiness, unless they are united, neither they nor their family can be happy. No matter how much a family wishes to be happy, unless each person is happy, that family’s happiness will be nothing but a dream. We have an old saying, “When all is well in the family, everything else goes well.” The most important thing is for couples to become one and establish families of peace. That is the starting point of all solutions. (143-260, 1986.03.20)

32 How do we achieve unity? It is by living for the sake of others. Wherever love dwells, that place is good and desirable. Hence, if we stand in a place of goodness and give continuously, we will make the North and South one. But to discredit communist propaganda, the South must be able to give to the people of the North and improve their current living standards. If our living standards are below theirs, the people in the North will refuse our gifts. We have to improve our situation and then give. The way for Korea to sustain its life is very simple. If South Korea excels in all fields, in its economy, living standards and education, and then continually gives to North Korea, the North Koreans will unite with the South without hesitation. (36-076, 1970.11.15)

33 God placed me in the position to walk a path that is bound to Heaven. God has led me to walk this path my entire life. He did not intend for me to destroy the Communist Party, but rather to save its members. After concluding the Washington Monument rally, I called for a rally in Moscow. I did not make my proclamation holding a sword or a gun. I said, “You may drag me down and trample on me, but I will stand up again.” And that is what I did. In the same way, the reunification of North and South Korea cannot be accomplished with swords and guns. It can be achieved only through a heart that beats for the sake of God. Peace has an original path. We cannot achieve peace if we deviate from that essential path. If we do so, heavenly fortune will not accompany us. (144-165, 1986.04.12)

34 On behalf of God, I went to visit Kim II Sung in North Korea. There I stirred up the mud at the bottom of the pond by announcing, “You must obey God!” I concluded with a crystal-clear message: “All of you must follow Godism, which is head-wing thought! There is no other way!” I fulfilled all my responsibility, placing my life in the hands of Heaven. Even now, God has the ability to exercise His power of creation. He works in mysterious ways. (225-058, 1992.01.02)

35 As I walked this path, both ideological blocs, the democratic and the communist, opposed me. I faced opposition at every level: individual, family, tribe, people, nation and world. Nevertheless I overcame all those obstacles, and now I have even won over Kim II Sung. I knew that it was impossible to bring down Kim II Sung’s fortress by human effort alone, and that only Heaven’s love could penetrate his stronghold. With this victory, I could clearly recognize that the path I have been taking is the true one. It reaffirms my conclusion that only true love brings total victory; no other way is possible. That is why the miracle of re-creation took place during my visit to North Korea. (224-266, 1991.12.15)

36 The ultimate reason that Korea is divided into North and South is because one man and one woman failed to become one in love centered on the love of God. Consequently, couples are divided, parents and children are divided, and brothers and sisters are divided. It is the absence of true love that leads to bloodshed between peoples and even within a people. Hence it is with true love that we are now trying to unite what is divided. Once our foundation emerges, the world’s political climate, beyond North and South Korea, will push the two nations to integrate. That is, North and South Korea will unify not through national processes, but by those occured by global fortune spread. (162-227, 1987.04.12)

37 When each of you with your family brings total oneness in your tribe, the unification of North and South Korea will not be a problem. Party or factional politics will not work. Our strength will j | be based on an organizational system.  Who loves not only this nation, but also cares about Asia and loves heaven and earth? There is no one other than us. Where should we lead this nation of Korea? We should lead it to the garden of love, not to the garden of power and scheming. When we lead the North and the South to the garden of true love, the issues between them will be resolved. This cannot be achieved without approaching them as siblings born of the same parents. This is the only way to realize a world of peace. (168-224, 1987.09.20)

38 South Koreans cannot achieve the independence of their homeland on their own. The four great powers that are involved with the unification of North and South Korea need to cooperate to resolve this issue, based on the power of love. This is possible only through the power of true love, which is eternal and unchanging. For hundreds of thousands of years our ancestors yearned for true love. Billions of people today seek true love, and so will future generations. Humanity’s common denominator is true love, which surpasses the national level and reaches the world. True love will make us one for eternity. The world governed by God’s love is called the kingdom of heaven on earth. That is the world we are striving to build together. (141-118, 1986.02.19)

39 There is not a single spot on the Korean peninsula where my spirit is not embedded. I have invested everything for it through the Unification Church members. The results of this investment are coming to fruition. The time has come for our investments to be brought forward and be recognized in this era of history. Our Juche thought is not the same as that of Kim II Sung. It is neither communism nor democracy. It is a truth that teaches us to become a subject partner of love centered on God. 40 Ours is a new Juche thought. It provides clear direction to individuals, societies, nations and the world, preventing them from going to ruin. It safeguards those whose views are in accord with the providence but are not centered on God. There is only one correct formula: the principle of living for the sake of others. Remember this truth. It is the principle that was present at the beginning, when God created the world, and will remain to the end. (77-339, 1975.04.30)
