John 16 Commentary (2)
The joy of a mother giving birth is something you will only know when you embrace a new life.
In the past, women gave birth to several children and then became mothers without even realizing it.
However, many women now have a mind to not have children at all.
This is not just a problem of family or country, but also a rebellion against the will of God the Creator.
Childbirth is the most basic blessing of God between the spirit and the flesh, and if you reject it, you will be afraid of the divine punishment that will come upon you.
What kind of divine punishment could there be? Unlike the past age of law, in the age of grace, your personality will become worse.
In the Old Testament, if you disobeyed God’s word, you would be punished with war, famine, and disease, but after the Holy Spirit comes, if the Holy Spirit is not in you, you will lose your fear of God.
Then, since you do not want to keep God in your heart, God give you over to a depraved heart. (Romans 1:28)
The difference between an orphan and a child with parents is that an orphan seems to be freer at first, but if you grow up without the intervention of your parents, problems will arise later on, and just as if there is no intervention of the Holy Spirit, you will end up in trouble in the end.
Without the Holy Spirit, there is no fear of God, so the message of the cross of Christ cannot be pleasing to them.
Therefore, they think they are wise and sit in the place of sin and death, living in evil that defies God, so their character becomes bad, they often clash with people, and eventually they become sick.
When a person has a bad character, it is only a matter of time before they perish.
Therefore, the Proverb says, “Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.” (Prov. 3:7-8)
A person who has the Spirit of truth dwelling in him cannot act independently.
The Holy Spirit teaches and reminds us of the grace of Christ’s redemption on the cross, so that we receive his death and resurrection with a reverent heart and return to our place, that is, into Christ.
Every time, the life of Christ spreads through our body like an IV set, and our blood circulation changes dramatically.
Therefore, if someone is suffering from geriatric diseases, we must be looking at someone who does not know the truth.
After the Spirit of truth comes within us, after we have gone through the pain of childbirth, denying myself and carrying my cross, it is easy to pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
When you become one with Christ through the Spirit of truth and receive His life and dwell in the Trinity, you will have boldness and strong confidence before God without any hesitation.
You will be bold in longing for the Lord's appearance or in following the truth to approach the throne of grace.
Because forgiveness of sins, eternal life, righteousness, holiness, and glory are all in his name you have received.
Therefore, “In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Truly, truly, I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask, and you receive, and your joy will be complete.” (John 16:23-24)
When the salvation in the book of Romans is accomplished, you establish your qualification to approach the throne of God’s grace through the book of Hebrews and, like David, appeal to the name of the Lord and receive salvation in the present.
From the moment you realize that this is the prayer that calls on His name in the name of the Lord, you will understand what faith is and how your existence changes and even your life changes.
Then, in John 16:25, He says that He will no longer speak in parables.
“These things have I spoken unto you in parables; but the time comes, when I shall no more speak unto you in parables, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.”
The Holy Spirit, the Comforter, makes us touch what treasure is within us and reveals what glory shines in our hearts.
It is so important that the new covenant (Jeremiah 31:33, Hebrews 8:10) that He said He would put his laws in our minds and write them on our hearts is fulfilled by the Spirit of truth.
Unfortunately, the words about the new covenant and the gospel of the kingdom of heaven are dim now.
Only when the Holy Spirit comes in us, works in us, is filled, and has power and guidance, can the kingdom of God be fulfilled, and the glory and attributes of the kingdom of God are embodied and the body’s actions of faith are performed.
Therefore, the Word became flesh and came as Jesus, and saved us who were under sin, death, and the curse of the law in Adam through the death on the cross and resurrection, and transferred us into Christ, and we receive forgiveness of sins through repentance and baptism in the name of Christ, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and become one bread, one body, one spirit with Christ. Study the new covenant.
As the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of the glorious kingdom, dwells in me through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, I become one with Christ and boldly go to the throne of grace, following the guidance of the Spirit of truth.
This is a great blessing of salvation.
Otherwise, you would only know the Holy Spirit who appears outwardly.
Like the church in Corinth, the movement of the Holy Spirit, which does not know that Christ is present in them and only pursues signs, wonders, and gifts, which are manifestations of the Holy Spirit, is becoming biased towards peripheral ideas rather than the central idea of the gospel, and Christianity is becoming a charcoal fire all over the world.
