Bible Reading - 2 Timothy 2:19~26

2:19 Nevertheless(그럼에도 불구하고),  God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: 그럼에도 불구하고 하나님의 견고한 기초는 굳건히 서 있으며, 다음과 같은 비문으로 봉인되어 있다.

"The Lord knows those who are his," 주께서 자신에게 속한 자들을 아시며

and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."

주님의 이름을 고백하는 모든 자들은 사악함으로부터 돌이켜야만 한다.

2:20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; 

큰 집에는 금이나 은으로 만든 물건뿐만 아니라 나무나 진흙으로 만든 물건도 있다.

some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble.

몇몇은 귀한 목적을 위해 그리고 몇몇은 천한 목적을 위해 있다.

2:21 If a man cleanses himself from the latter, 만일 어떤 사람이 후자로부터 그 자신을 깨끗하게 한다면

he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. 그는 고귀한 목적을 위해 주인에게 거룩하고 유용하게 만들어져서 어떤 선한 일을 하도록 준비된 도구가 될 것이다.

2:22 Flee the evil desires of youth, 젊은 이의 악한 욕망으로부터 도망쳐라 

and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 순수한 마음으로 주님께 부르심을 받은 자들과 함께 의와 믿음과 사랑과 평안을 쫓으라(추격하라).

2:23 Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments,

어리석고 멍청한 논쟁을 하려고 어떤 상관을 하지마라.

because you know they produce quarrels. 너는 그들이 다툼을 일으킨다는 것을 알고 있기 때문이다. 

2:24 And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; 그리고 주의 종은 다투지 말아야 하며 

instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful(분개하다).

대신에 그는 모든 사람들에게 친절해야 하며 가르칠 수 있어야 하며, 분내지 말아야 한다.

2:25 Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, 그를 반대하는 자들에게 부드럽게 가르쳐야 하며

in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,

하나님께서 그들에게 회개를 주시고 진리의 지식에 이르게 하시기를 바램으로 

2:26 and that they will come to their senses 그러면 그들이 제 정신으로 돌아올 것이며

and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

그리고 그들을 사로잡아 그의 뜻을 행하게 한 마귀의 함정에서 벗어나게 될 것이다.
