Those Who Abandoned the Word

Summary: Anyone who teaches a different doctrine and refuses to agree with the sound words of the Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that leads to godliness is conceited and lacks understanding. Such a person has an unhealthy desire for controversies and disputes about words, which produce envy, strife, abusive language, and evil suspicions. This results in constant conflict among people whose minds are corrupt, who have been deprived of the truth, and who regard godliness as a means of financial gain. Teaching: There are two types of problematic members in the church: those who teach a different doctrine and those who do not follow the words of Jesus and the teaching given by the church. Those who attend church regularly yet speak differently from its teaching, and those who listen to sermons but refuse to follow them, are difficult members of the church. What makes them difficult is their deliberate opposition to the Word and the church. They have been deceived by the devil. This concerns the values of our hearts, particularly how we determine what is more important and what is less important. Some people value other things more highly than the Word. Others know that something is God’s Word but deliberately refuse to follow it. Let us all speak sound words. Let us speak healthy and beneficial words that strengthen faith. These include the words of Scripture, sermons preached in the church, and words of exhortation. In the church, we are taught and exhorted through the Word, and we learn how to live as members of the church. Excerpt from the sermon by Pastor Lee, Sep 15, 2026 1 Timothy 6:3-5 p.s. “When I say to the wicked, ‘You wicked person, you will certainly die,’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked about his way, that wicked person shall die for his wrongdoing, but I will require his blood from your hand. But if you on your part warn a wicked person to turn from his way and he does not turn from his way, he will die for his wrongdoing, but you have saved your life (Ezekiel 33:8-9).” Our pastor warns us plenty. So let’s listen to his warning so that we do not die and lie in the pit with those who are uncircumcised.
