Summary:
Godliness accompanied by contentment is a source of great gain. People bring nothing into the world and can take nothing out of it, so they should be content when they have food and covering. Those who desire to become rich fall into temptation, a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires that lead them into ruin and destruction. The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and some who have longed for it have wandered away from the faith and brought many griefs upon themselves.
Teaching:
A person who is content with what he possesses may be described as godly.
We brought nothing into this world, and we will take nothing with us when we leave. We will leave everything behind. This is a truth about life that God has given to everyone.
A person who loves money aligns himself with money and resonates with it. The desire to become rich is ultimately a matter of one’s wants and desires.
Those who seek to become rich are led into sin because, in accumulating wealth, they become unable to spend money where it ought to be spent. They lose much of the time in which they could have been happy because they are pursuing riches. They have no thought for the kingdom of God. They lose sight of heaven and fall into ruin and destruction. But when money is spent where it ought to be spent, God makes it beautiful and gives us beautiful wisdom for living.
All kinds of evil are connected with money. Instead, use money with faith to win people and enter heaven. Invest in faith.
