襲犯(습범)은 아버지의 악을 이어 받는 것이다.

  Inherited Offense(襲犯,습범) means inheriting the evil of one′s father.

앞집에 불이 일어나고 뒷집도 불이 일어나면 멸망하지 않는 사람이 없을 것이다.

  If a fire breaks out in the house in front and a fire also breaks out in the house behind,

  no will espcape destruction.

이미 아버지가 악을 저지르고 자식이 악을 물려받으면 꺽어서 부러뜨릴수도 없고 멈출 수도 없으니
가히 그 아버지와 차례로 재앙을 받게 된다.

  When a father has already committer evil and the child inherits that evil,

  it can neither be snapped/ broken nor stopped; thus,[the child] will surely suffer calamity

  in succession alongside the father.

襲犯者는 承父惡也라 (습범자는 승부악야라)

  An"inherited offense"(襲犯,습범) means receiving / inheriting the evil of one′s father.  

前家火起하고 後家又火면 不滅者 未有하며  (전가화기하고 후가우화면 불멸자 미유하며)

  If a fire breaks out in the front house and a fire breaks out again in the rear house,

  there is no one who will avoid destruction.

父已犯惡하고 子又襲惡이면 (부이범악하고 자우습악이면)

  If the father has already committed evil and the child inherits that evil in turn,

不折不止니 可領次禍니라. (부절부지니 가령차화니라.)

 It can neither be broken off nor stopped, so[the child] will surely receive calamity in succession.
