as 의 쓰임

1) 때: ~할 때

So I got up as the Sun rises, and I go to sleep as the Sun sets.

He was not at home as I got there.

The play started as I got there.

2) 시간의 경과: ~함에 따라서

As I went up higher, it became colder and colder.

As time went on, the situation got worse.

He became wiser as he grew older.

3) 이유: ~ 때문에

The meeting was put off as I was late.

As I was tired, I soon fell asleep.

4) 자격: ~로서

I took part in that meeting as a chairperson.

He worked as a nurse.

5) 양보 의 as: ~에도 불구하고

Young as he is, he is very wise.

6) 같은 방식을 나타내는 접속사 as: ~하는 대로, ~하듯이

Do things as you are told.

Do as you like.

7) 동등비교 부사의 as: ~만큼

I had my lunch as much as you.

8) ~처럼, ~같이 의 전치사 as : ~처럼, ~같이

The girls were dressed as swans.

가르치는 애들 기말고사 시험범위라 정리해 놓은 것중 하나고요, 몇가지 정도가 빠져 있긴 합니다. 저거 구분하는 법이 몇가지 용법 같은 경우엔 있긴 있지만, 그냥 해석해보고 나온다 하는게 아무래도 맞겠죠 ^^;
