Summary:
In the final days, difficult and perilous times will come. People will be driven by self-love, greed, and arrogance. They will be boastful, abusive toward others, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, and unholy. Lacking natural affection and forgiving spirit, they will spread malicious gossip, act without self-control, display brutal behavior, and hold a hatred for what is good.
Driven by treacherous and reckless impulses, they will become conceited and prioritize physical pleasures over the love of God. While they maintain an outward appearance of godliness, they completely reject its true power. Believers are instructed to turn away from such people.
Among them are those who subtly slip into households and gain control over vulnerable, guilt-ridden women who are weighed down by various sinful desires. These individuals are perpetually trying to learn, yet they remain forever incapable of arriving at a true knowledge of the truth.
Teaching:
Not just anyone accepts this Word, but only those who are saved accept it. Those who possess the power of godliness are the ones who love the knowledge of the truth.
The essence of the church lies in the Word, and the work of the church is teaching and learning the Word. Furthermore, church leaders are zealous in teaching and learning the Word, living by the power of godliness apart from the contents of verses 2, 3, and 4 in today’s passage.
