용접 용어에서 비드(bead)는 용접선을 따라 용접을 했을 때 모재 위에 응고된 용착금속을 뜻합니다. 끈 모양으로 생겼기 때문에 끈 가공이라고도 불립니다.

용접 비드의 특징

아크 용접이나 레이저 용접 등의 용접 방법으로 모재를 접합했을 때 접합 부분에 형성됩니다

용접 비드의 표면에 물결 모양이 생기면 리플(ripple)이라고 합니다

용접 비드 위에 금속산화물이 쌓이면 슬래그(slag)라고 합니다

용접 비드의 종류

용접사가 이음부를 따라서 짧은 또는 측면에서 측면으로 이동(진폭:oscillation)이 없다면, 용접 비드 결과를 직선(stringer) bead 라 부릅니다

용접이 이음부를 따라서 용적되어짐으로 용접사가 용접봉을 옆으로, 또는 좌우로 조작한 결과를 Weave Bead라고 합니다


뒷면에 완전용입으로 형성된 비드를 백 비드라고 부릅니다


용접할 때 모재와 용가재가 융합 응고된 부분을 용착금속이라 하고, 이로 만들어진 것을 비드(bead)라고 하며, 표면에 생긴 물결 모양을 리플이라 부른다.
