WASHINGTON—President Trump raised more than $210 million for his re-election bid in August, bringing in more than he did during the previous month, but still significantly less than Democratic rival Joe Biden during the same time period.

The figure announced by the campaign Wednesday includes combined fundraising with the Republican National Committee and affiliated committees. The campaign didn’t detail how much cash they still have on hand for the final eight weeks of the race.

Mr. Biden and the Democratic National Committee raised $364.5 million in August, breaking previous records for a Democratic campaign. The massive Democratic fundraising number underscores how Mr. Biden has cut into Mr. Trump’s cash advantage.

In a statement, Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien said: “The Trump campaign will have all the resources we need to spread the message of President Trump’s incredible record of achievement, on the ground and on the air, and define Joe Biden as a tool of the radical left.”

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel stressed the campaign’s investments in “field, digital and data,” saying they “have built the most sophisticated ground game in history.”

Mr. Trump’s campaign raised more than $165 million in July in combined fundraising with the RNC and affiliated committees.
