(사27:1-13)
1 In that day, the LORD will punish with his sword, his fierce, great and powerful sword, Leviathan the gliding serpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he will slay the monster of the sea.  2 In that day--"Sing about a fruitful vineyard:  3 I, the LORD, watch over it; I water it continually. I guard it day and night so that no one may harm it.  4 I am not angry. If only there were briers and thorns confronting me! I would march against them in battle; I would set them all on fire.  5 Or else let them come to me for refuge; let them make peace with me, yes, let them make peace with me."  6 In days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit.  7 Has the LORD struck her as he struck down those who struck her? Has she been killed as those were killed who killed her?  8 By warfare and exile you contend with her--with his fierce blast he drives her out, as on a day the east wind blows.  9 By this, then, will Jacob's guilt be atoned for, and this will be the full fruitage of the removal of his sin: When he makes all the altar stones to be like chalk stones crushed to pieces, no Asherah poles or incense altars will be left standing.  10 The fortified city stands desolate, an abandoned settlement, forsaken like the desert; there the calves graze, there they lie down; they strip its branches bare.  11 When its twigs are dry, they are broken off and women come and make fires with them. For this is a people without understanding; so their Maker has no compassion on them, and their Creator shows them no favor.  12 In that day the LORD will thresh from the flowing Euphrates to the Wadi of Egypt, and you, O Israelites, will be gathered up one by one.  13 And in that day a great trumpet will sound. Those who were perishing in Assyria and those who were exiled in Egypt will come and worship the LORD on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.

고대 근동 신화에서는 혼돈과 파괴의 상징인 바다 괴물을 가리키지만, 
성경에서는 하나님의 창조물로, 
통치와 주권을 드러내실 때 사용되는 존재로 묘사 된다는 설명

그런데 오늘따라 나는 
그것을 문화적(文化的) 보다는 문명적(文明的)으로 해석(解釋)하고 싶다
오늘날 바다의 거대 괴물로 여길만한 것은 무엇이 있을까?
그것은 아마 항공모함이 아닐까... 하는 생각

지금 바다의 패권을 쥐고 있는 것은 분명 미국
그러나 중국의 야망은 뒤질세라 열심히 뒤쫓아가고 있는 실정
핵무기를 장착한 그러한 군사무기들은 
언젠가 사용될 것이고 ... 하나님께서 그렇게 되도록 섭리하실 것이라는 말씀이 오늘의 말씀이 아닐까...하는 생각을 하게 된다

그런데 2절에 보면 하나님께서 포도원을 가꿀 것이고
그 어떠한 사람 상황도 해하지를 못하게 하시겠고 마침내 열매를 거두게 될 것이라는 말씀
그것은 참혹잔인(慘酷殘忍)한 살육상황(殺戮狀況)에도 불구(不拘) 남은자(remnant)가 있도록
특별히 하나님을 섬기는 경건한 자들을 남겨 두시겠다는 뜻으로 읽힌다

11절
‘...For this is a people without understanding; 
so their Maker has no compassion on them, 
and their Creator shows them no favor.’

‘understanding’
HNR은 이를 ‘지각(知覺)’으로 번역했음을 보는데...
적절한 번역이라고 본다
말씀을 읽어도 뜻을 모르니
아주 좋은 네비게이션이 있어도 사용할 줄 모르는 상황과 일반

오늘도 더 없이
성경독청묵기적왕제중양(聖經讀聽黙祈適往弟重養)
언지신행일치(言知信行一致)의 사역(使役)
솔선수범(率先垂範)의 필요를 느끼며
부디 작은 불꽃이 되도록 이 흐름이 우리 교회를 넘어 세계로 뻗어 나가게 되었음 좋겠다

주여!
행1:8의 은혜은총(恩惠恩寵)
제게도 허락해 주셔서
나를 아는... 나와 관련된 모든 분들이 성경의 기독인이 되게 하소서
주님!
