[밀부르가]

성전을 정화하다

3  히즈키야는 임금이 되던 첫해 첫째달에, 주님의 집 문들을 열고 보수하였다.

  In the first month of the first year of his reign, he opened the doors of the LORD's house and repaired them.

4  그는 사제들과 레위인들을 오라고 하여 동쪽 광장에 모은 다음,

  He summoned the priests and Levites, gathering them in the open space to the east,

5  그들에게 말하였다. "레위인들은 내 말을 들으시오. 그대들은 이제 자신들을 먼저 거룩하게 하고, 그대들 조상들의 하느님이신 주님의 집을 거룩하게 하시오. 그리고 성소에서 부정한 것을 끌어내시오.

   and said to them: "Listen to me, you Levites! Sanctify yourselves now and sanctify the house of the LORD, the God of    your ancestors, and clean out the filth from the sanctuary. 

6  우리 선조들은 배신하여, 주 우리 하느님의 눈에 거슬리는 악한 짓을 저지르고 그분을 저버렸으며, 주님의 거처에서 자기들의 얼굴을 돌리고 등을 돌렸소.
    Our ancestors acted treacherously and did what was evil in the eyes of the LORD, our God. They abandoned him,           turned away their faces from the LORD's dwelling, and turned their backs on him.

7  그들은 또 주님의 집 현관문들을 잠가 버리고 등불을 꺼버렸으며, 성소에서 이스라엘의 하느님께 향도 피우지 않고 번제물도 바치지 않았소.

  They also closed the doors of the vestibule, extinguished the lamps, and failed to burn incense and sacrifice burnt         offerings in the sactuary to the God of Israel.

8  그래서 주님의 진노가 유다와 예루살렘에 내린 것이오. 그대들이 눈으로 보았듯이 그분께서는 유다와 예루살렘 주민들을 두려움과 놀람과 비웃음 거리가 되게 하셨소.

   Therefore the anger of the LORD has come upon Judah and Jerusalem; he has made them an object of terror, horror, and hissing, as you see with your own eyes.

9  우리 조상들이 칼에 맞아 쓰러지고, 우리 아들 딸들과 아내들이 잡혀간 것은 바로 그 때문이오.

    For our ancestors fell by the sword, and our sons, our daughters, andour wives have been taken captive because of this. 

10  이제 나는 주 이스라엘의 하느님께서 당신의 타오르는 분노를 우리에게서 거두시기를 바라며 그분과 계약을 맺기로 결심하였소.

    Now, I intend to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, that his burning anger may turn away from us. 

11  이제 내 아들들이여, 게으름을 피우지 마시오. 그대들이 당신 앞에 서서시중들도록, 이렇게 당신의 시종이 되어 당신께 향을 피우도록 주님께서 그대들을 선택하셨기 때문이오."

    My sons, do not be negligent any longer, for it is you whom the LORD has chosen to stand before him, to minister to him, to be his ministers and to offer incense."    

12  그러자 레위인들이 나섰는데, 크핫의 자손에서는 아마사이의 아들 마핫과 아자르야의 아들 요엘이, 므라리의 자손에서는 압디의 아들 키스와 여할렐엘의 아들 아자르야가, 게르손인들 가운데에서는 짐마의 아들 요아와 요아의 아들 에덴이,

    Then the Levites arose: Mahath, son of Amasai, and Joel, son of Azariah, of the Kohathites; of the descendants of Merari; Kish, son of Abdi, and Azariah, son of Jehallel; of the Gershonites; Joah, son of Zimmah, and Eden, son of Joah; 

13  엘리차판의 자손에서는 시므리와 여이엘이, 아삽의 자손에서는 즈카르야와 마탄야가,

   of the sons of Elizaphan; Shimri an Jeuel; of the sons of Asaph; Zechariah and Mattaniah; 

14  헤만의 자손에서는 여히엘과 시므이가, 그리고 야두툰의 자손에서는 스마야와 우찌엘이 나셨다.

   of the sons of Heman; Jehuel ans Shimei; of the sons of Jeduthun; Shemiah and Uzziel.

15  그들은 형제들을 모아 자신들을 거룩하게 한 다음, 임금의 명령에 따라 주님의 집에 들어가, 주님의 말씀대로 그곳을 정화하였다.

     They gathered their kinfolk together and sanctified themselves; then they came as the king had ordered, in keeping with the words of the LORD, to cleanse the LORD's house.
