[밀부르가]

다리우스 임금의 명령

6  "이제 유프라테스 서부 지방관 타트나이와 스타르 보즈나이와 그 동료들, 그리고 유프라테스 서부 지방의 관리들은 그곳 일을 방해하지 마라.

    "Now, therefore, Tattenai, governor of West-of-Euphrates, and Shethar-bozenai, and you, their fellow officials in West-of-Euphrates, stay away from there. 

7  그 하느님의 집 공사가 계속되게 하여라. 유다인들의 지방관과 유다인들의 원로들이 그 하느님의 집을 제자리에 다시 짓게 하여라. 

    Let the governor and the elders of the Jews continue the work on that house of God; they are to rebuild it on its former site.

8  이제 그 하느님의 집을 다시 짓도록 그대들이 유다인들의 원로들을 도와서 해야 할 일에 관하여, 내가 이렇게 명령을 내린다. 왕실 재산 곧 유프라테스 서부 지방에서 받는 조공에서, 지체하지 말고 그 사람들에게 어김없이 비용을 내어 주어라.

   I also issue this decree concerning your dealing with these elders of theJews in the rebuildinf of that house of God: Let these men be repaid for their expenses, in full and without delay from the royal revenue, deriving from the taxes of West-of-Euphrates, so that the work not be interrupted.

9  하늘의 하느님께 바치는 번제에 필요한 황소와 숫양과 어린 양, 그리고 밀과 소금과 포도주와 기름 등 예루살렘 사제들이 말하는 것은 무엇이든 날마다 틀림없이 대어 주어라.

    Whatever else is required - young bulls, rams, and lambs for burnt offerings to the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the requirements of the priests who are in Jerusalem - let that be delivered to them day by day without fail,

10  그래서 그들이 하늘의 하느님께 향기로운 제물울 바치면서, 임금과 왕자들이 잘 살도록 기도하게 하여라.

    that they may continue to offer sacrifices of pleasing odor to the God of heaven and pray for the life of the king and his sons.

11  나는 또한 이렇게 명령을 내린다. 누구든지 이 칙령을 어기면, 그 집에서 들보를 빼내어 세우고 그자를 그 위에 못 박아 매달아라. 그 죄에 대한 벌로 그 집은 쓰레기더미로 만들어라.

     I also issue this decree: if any man alters this edict, a beam is to be taken from his house, and he is to be lifted up and impaled on it; and his house is to be reduced to rubble for this offense.

12  어떤 임금이든 민족이든 손을 대어 이 칙령을 어기거나, 예루살렘에 있는 그 하느님의 집을 허물면, 당신의 이름을 그곳에 머무르게 하신 하느님께서 그들을 거꾸러뜨리실 것이다. 나 다리우스가 명령을 내리니 어김없이 시행하여라."

     And may the God who causes his name to dwell there overthrow every king or people who may undertake to alter this decree or to destroy this house of God in Jerusalem. I, Darius, have issrued this decree; let it be diligently executed."

성전 준공과 봉헌

The Task Finally Completed.

13  그래서 유프라테스 서부 지방관 타트나이와 스타르 보즈나이와 그 동료들은 다리우스가 내려 보낸 지시대로 어김없이 시행하였다.

     Then Tattenai, the governor of West-of-Euphrates, and Shethar-bozenai, and their fellow officials carried out with all diligence the instructions King Darius had sent them.

14  유다의 원로들은 하까이 예언자와 이또의 아들 즈카르야가 선포하는 예언에 힘입어 건축 공사를 순조롭게 진행하였다. 그들은 이스라엘의 하느님의 명령과 페르시아 임금 키루스와 다리우스와 아르타크세르크세스의 명령에 따라 건축 공사를 마칠 수 있었다.

     The elders of the Jews continued to make progress in the building, supproted by the message of the prophets, Haggai, and Zechariah, son of Iddo. They  finished the building according to the command of the God of Israel and the decrees of Cyrus and Darius, and of Artaxerxes, king of Persia. 

15  그리하여 이 집이 완공된 것은 다리우스 임금의 통치 제육년 아다르달 초사흗날이었다.

     They completed this house on the third day of the month Adar, in the sixth year of the reign of King Darius.

16  이스라엘 자손들, 곧 사제들과 레위인들과 돌아온 나머지 유배자들은 기뻐하며 하느님의 집 봉헌식을 올렸다.

     The Israelites - priests, Levites, and the other returned exiles - celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy. 

17  이 하느님의 집 봉헌식에는 황소 백 마리와 숫양 이백 마리와 어린 양 사백 마리를 바치고, 온 이스라엘을 위한 속죄 제물로 이스라엘의 지파 수에 따라 숫염소 열두 마리를 바쳤다.

     For the dedication of this house of God, they offered one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, and four hundred lambs, together with twelve he-goats as a sin offering for all Israel, in keeping with the number of the tribes of Israel.

18  그런 다음 모세의 책에 쓰인 대로, 사제들을 저마다 번별로 세우고 레위인들을 저마다 조별로 세워 예루살렘에서 하느님을 섬기도록 하였다.

     Finally, they set up the priests in their classes and the Levites in their divisions for the service of God in Jerusalem, as is prescribed in the book of Moses. 

파스카 축제를 지내다

The Passover.

19  돌아온 유배자들은 첫째 달 열나흗날에 파스카 축제를 지냈다.

     The returned exiles kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month. 

20  사제들과 레위인들은 일제히 자신을 정결하게 하였다. 그래서 그들은 모두 정결하게 되었다. 그런 다음 그들은, 돌아온 모든 유배자와 동료 사제들과 자기들이 먹을 파스카 제물을 잡았다.

     The Levites, every one of whom had purified himself tor the occasion, sacrificed the Passover for all the exiles, for their colleagues the priests, and for themselves. 

21  그러자 유배에서 돌아온 이스라엘 자손들은, 주 이스라엘의 하느님을 공경하기 위하여 그 지방 민족들의 부정을 떨쳐버린 모든 이와 함께 그것을 먹었다.

     The Israelites who had returned from the exile and all those who had separated themselves from the uncleanness of Gentiles in the land shared in it, seeking the LORD, the God of Israel.

22  그리고 이레 동안 무교절을 즐겁게 지냈다. 주님께서 그들을 즐겁 하시고, 아시리아 임금의 마음을 돌리시어 주 이스라엘의 하느님 집을 짓도록 그들을 도와주게 하셨기 때문이다.

     They joyfully kept the feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days, for the LORD had filled them with joy by making the king of Assyria favorable to them, so that he gave them help in their work on the house of God, the God of Israel.
