Article 311. 大(대)는 한번의 행위로 큰 惡(악)을 만드는 것이다.  Dae(大,대) means committing a great evil through a single act. 적은 惡(악)을 만드는 사람은 어리석은 것이니 분별함이 같지 않아 혹은 스스로 깨닫기 어렵다.  A person who commits minor evil is foolish; because their discernment is lacking,  it is difficult for them to realize it on their own. 큰 惡(악)을 만드는 자는 지혜가 있음이니 일시에 일을 행함으로 죄가 신과 인간을 관통하니 가히 그 재앙을 받게 된다.  However, one who commits great evil possesses intellect; by executing their deed all at once,  their guilt pierces through both the divine and humanity―thereby surely inviting disaster   upon themselves.  [Original Text, 원문] 大는 一爲而做大惡也라 (대는 일위이주대악야라)  Greatness(大,대) means committing a great evil through a single action. 做小惡者는 愚也니 處否似하여 酷難自覺하며 (주소악자는 우야니 처부사하여 혹난자각하며)  One who commits minor evil is foolish; because their discernment between right and wrong is blurry,  it is exceedingly difficult for them to realize it on their own. 做大惡者는 知也니 一時行事에 罪貫神人이라 可領其禍니라. (주대악자는 지야니 일시행사에 죄관신인이라 가령기화니라.)  One who commits great evil possesses cleverness; in executing their act all at once,   their sin pierces through both the divine and humanity―thereby surelybringing   calamity upon themselves.  [Explanation, 풀이] 어리석은 자가 惡(악)을 저지르는 것은 그것이 惡(악)인지도 모르고 저지를 수도 있다.  When a foolish person commits evil, they may do so without even realizing that it is evil. 그러나 현명한 자는 그것이 惡(악) 인줄 알면서도 계획적으로 한번에 거창하게 저지르니 그것을 惡(악)이라고 사람들이 말할 수조차 없게 위장하는 재주도 있다.  However, a clever person commits evil systematically and grandly all at once,  fully aware that it is wrong, possessing even the cunning ability to disguise it so that  people cannot even call it evil. 그러나 이는 神(신)과 인간을 동시에 능멸하는 행위로서 그 죄가 神(신)과 인간을 함께 분노케 한다.  Yet, this is an act of contempt against both the divine and humanity,   and such a sin incurs the wrath of both God and man alike. 따라서 머지않아 재앙을 받게 된다.   Therefore, before long, calamity shall inevitably befall them.
