『Belfast』는 1976년 데뷔 앨범 〈Take the Heat off Me〉을

통해 "Daddy Cool"과 "Sunny"를 내놓으면서 자신들의

존재를 세상에 널리 알렸으며 1970년대 말 전 세계적으로

불어 닥친 디스코 열풍의 대표적인 4인조 혼성 그룹

「Boney M」!!

이들은 그 이듬해인 1977년 두 번째 앨범 〈Love for Sale〉을

내놓습니다. 그 앨범에서는 "Ma Baker"와 『Belfast』두 곡이

특히 많은 관심을 끌었는데, 『Belfast』는 당시 독일 차트 1위,

영국 차트 8위에 올랐습니다.

참고로 '벨파스트(Belfast)'는 북 아일랜드의 수도(首都)로

영국과의 끝없는 분쟁(紛爭)으로 인해 상처가 많았던 도시죠.

이 노래는 우리나라에서도 크게 히트하였습니다.
