[NOTICE]

Since I'm trying to contain the number of participants within no more than 10

due to the nature of this study group and limited seatings,

current members are fixed as below.

It means that even though you've had an interview a long time ago and joined a few times

doesn't automatically give you the green light to participate.

If you happen to be absent more than a month in a row,

please give me a notice and I won't count you out

otherwise I would assume you're not willing to attend anymore

so unoccupied seat will be passed to a new commer.

Minutes of the meeting on 3/1

    We had 4 English Talkaholics on 3/1, me, Jay, Lucy and Andy. 

    We were supposed to have 8 members last Saturday, but 4 members couldn't be able to come due to personal reasons happened in the morning, so we had some quality time under the cozy, family-like atmosphere in a small group. :)

    We decided to skip the debate topic, and talked about several topics prepared by each members, a bit more deeply than usual since we had a plenty of time. Jay brought the issue of GMF(Genetically Modified Food) to help the poor by providing with cheaper price. But we questioned that how it effectively benefit the poor since there's already enough food to feed everyone in the world, and the hunger is the matter of distribution, not the matter of totall amount of food. We also worried about safety issue as well since those things can be only proven through generations. Andy's topic was the introduced screening system for girl group's extreme exposure and sleazy dances on screen. We all agreed that it is not effective way as there's way too easy access to those stuff on the internet, it is only inciting more curiosity out of children. I asked if anyone would feel happy with Asada Mao's failure in Olympic and expanded to why we would feel happy with the failures of others more than with our own succcess. So we shared honestly the exprerience of gloating over other's failure and it turned out it happened especailly with our best friends that we believe we care the most!! 

    We skipped the vocabulary test as well, so somebody who is eying for winning can study the topic on 2/22, 'Viktor Ahn's gold'.   

   It was so much fun as always thanks to participants and thank you for coming guys, and see you everyone again!

 Itinerary (Every Saturday morning 11:00~14:00)

1. FIRST CLASS - Say hello :)

11:00 ~ 11:30  Introduction / catching up each other and grouping

Each group will consist of no more than 4 talkaholics for the second class.    

2. SECOND CLASS - Speaking chance in a small group

11:30 ~ 12:20   Each English Talkaholic will be given the chance to present their topic

                            and we will have a discussion in a group.

Prepare your own topic that you've found interesting and share with us with one question on it to discuss together.  

12:20 ~ 12:30  Time for a break!

3. THRID CLASS - Bloody debate!!  

12:30 ~ 12:50  Vocabulary test from the article of previous debate.

                           Each participant is subjected to put 1,000 won and collected money is for the winner!

12:50 ~ 13:10  Rephrase paragraph by paragraph and check the vocabularies

                           while reading the debate topic.

13:10 ~ 13:30  Divide into two opposing subgroups.

                           Each subgroup to prepare for battle, i.e. build up their strategy for a debate

13:30 ~ 13:50  Let the fun begin - time for a bloody debate between the subgroups!!

13:50 ~ 14:00  Final comments by each member

Preparing yourself for debate beforehand will display you as a good speaker and debater. :)  

4. AFTER THE STUDY - Optional

14:00 ~             Dealing with the aftermath - time for lunch and/or coffee to unwind and relax

Continue all the chats and talks!!!!

Even for this hour, we'll be still speaking in English hence English Talkaholic~~~ :)

Interveiw is mandatory to participate.

If you're looking for an advanced level group,

If you're keen to study hard and improve your English skill,

If casual chats are no longer enough for you,

you'll be the right candidate.

We will expose you to english-environment as much as possible to meet your strong desire to speak in Engish by using ONLY English EVEN DURING the lunch time~~ :)  

* We're not having a new comer for the time being since seatings are not available *

  ONLY 2 RULES YOU HAVE TO ADHERE TO in the study

SPEAKING ONLY ENGLISH

Why we're defying the strong desire to sleep in

and struggling to come and study

is

to improve our English, isn't it?

Then I want you to have as many chances as possible to practice English!!  

We're speaking in English even during the lunch time, 

so please everybody stick to this policy! 

BE PUNCTUAL

Due to the nature of the study, Punctuality matters.

The late arrival means you're intrupting others 

which will lead us to using our precious time inefficiently. 

Please, be on time. :)
