I hope everyone will have a fun-filled and cozy holiday. Eat good food, be in a good mood, keep warm and stay healthy. Let's all cheers to a happy christmas and look forward to the best 2023 we could all have! I love you all and thank you for making my 2022 memorable!
My frst experience of Solo Travel
My first time alone.
The feeling of being nervous, stomach getting twisted in knots, puking just before I left the house, eating so much medicated candies to make me feel at ease haha plus having a sleepless night before the trip.
My first time.
Going through the 2nd interview of immigration haha because I was alone. Filipinos know why. Good thing my husband and I had good travel history.
Not my first time.
Doing a red eye flight. I still could not sleep properly during a red eye. I sleep soundly during a day flight. Maybe because it's so bright my eyes would rather be shut.
Not my first time.
Bringing work during travel. Might purchase something lighter and easier to take next time lol.
My first time.
An uncomfortable experience?
Being hit on by a creepy & persistent guy at the airport arrival. Because I was alone? I won't be so kind next time haha! Or better to say, there won't be a next time. Sure it's okay to be friendly but not too friendly. I was not rude but one "no, thank you" will always be a NO. Good thing an implied action made him leave haha. Ruining my first day or first hour haha. Report it if you feel harassed. #empowerwomen #safespace
Would I do it again?
Maybe, if I were to go back to a familiar country or if my husband goes home first and I will be staying for additional days haha.
The needed ME time.
It was an experience that I would repeat again, maybe next year? 😉 And hoping for better and safer travels for solo female travelers. Let all spaces be a safe space. Let all creeps stay away for good 😉.
It was a well-deserved impromptu trip.
Taking time just thinking about myself, what I wanted to do, where I wanted to go and what I wanted to eat. Not thinking about time as well.
Plus
not understanding the language made me think less about what other people are saying haha.
Just me, my thoughts, my s10e (upgrading to s23), Maps, X3 and Facebook Messenger lol!
The worst part of my first solo trip?
Getting hit on by a creepy and persistent guy during my first hour at the airport arrival while waiting for MRTs to open in the morning. (Friendly turned uncomfortable.) A "No, thank you" will always be a NO.
The best part of my solo trip?
Hearing people say...
YOU ARE SO BRAVE.
When they learned that I was alone.
That gave me more strength and determination.
Thank you
Thank you Ahna for the words of wisdom. It made me less scared and less anxious of the days that came next.
Thank you Carla for the constant chat about food and shopping tips haha!
Thank you Ely for letting me go even if you didn't want me to. But I still would have gone so you have no choice... LOL!
Thank you to the creepy guy, as well, for reminding me not to talk to strangers, not to be too friendly, and not to disclose any personal/important info that he shouldn't have. Thank you for getting my implied irritation and leaving!
🔅@cebupacific for the ticket promo I was able to get
🔅EasyCard and Taipei MRT system for being oh so convenient and easy.🔅 ASTRO's music, while walking, on the train ride, plane, bus and wherever. Thank you for the music.
... and my feet, thank you for keeping up during all my walks!
