The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. ~ Job 1:21
Job understood a profound truth: everything in this life is temporary, but God is eternal.
That is why he could worship even in loss.
His faith was not built on possessions, status, or circumstances. It was built on the unchanging character of God.
Humility remembers that what God gives can also be taken away, and therefore every blessing should be held with gratitude, not entitlement.
So be careful not to worship the blessing more than the One who gave it.
Be grateful in seasons of abundance. Be faithful in seasons of loss. Be humble in seasons of success.
Because if your joy depends only on what God gives, your faith will falter when things change.
But if your joy is rooted in God Himself, you can say with confidence: “Whether I have much or little, whether I gain or lose, I will still bless His name.”
Because the greatest treasure is not the gift. It is the Giver.
Always be humble. The blessings you enjoy today are gifts of God’s grace, not trophies of your self-sufficiency. The strength you have, the opportunities you’ve received, the doors that opened, and the favor you’ve experienced all came from His hand.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:19
May PEACE settle into your soul before your answer comes. May JOY rise up within you at a moment you least expect it. May PROVISION come out of nowhere and remind you that God has your back and HE goes before you.
May you defy the odds and come back from the trials you’ve endured. May you thrive right here, in the place God has you until He moves you. And may your life be a living-breathing testimony of God’s grace and goodness, His kindness and His love. You matter so very much to Him. Have a blessed day. Peace be with you.
