[동의] Public Transportation

 Public transportation is necessary in everyday life of modern people. Some might say it is okay for people not to pay for public transportation; nevertheless, others might hold their opinion against it. In line with this, I concretely believe that people should pay for public transportation. In fact, there are two justifications to support my idea: management and too many people.

  To begin with, budget is crucial for public transportation management. Consequently, the budget should be assembled by people who use it. It is probable that many people cast doubt to my opinion; however, I believe public transportation cannot keep running if it is free for people to use it. According to a recent news, subway use in one European country had been free for a couple of years(거짓말). As a result, the country became powerless to afford to manage subway any longer and appealed for help to other countries. This case definitely demonstrates that people should be responsible for their use of public transportation in terms of running.

  Furthermore, if it is free for people to ride on public transportation, there will be too many people in it. As a result, most of people will feel uncomfortable to ride on. Though some might say making it free is nothing to do with the number of people, it is not necessarily true to me. To say a personal experience, on July first in 2004, all the bus and subway were free in Seoul. Due to the fact that people did not have to pay for them, too many people used them though they did not need to actually. In a small bus on which I was riding, there were about fifty people that it was unable for me even to breathe. As a result, I felt great disturbance and became unwilling to use bus anymore. I think there would be fewer people if they had to pay for it. This incident clearly shows that it is advised for a country to get paid by people using public transporation.

  To summerize the points made above, it is more considerable make people be responsible for using public transportation to manage it with ease and to keep positive feelings in people using it. Of course, there should not be the fact that the poor are unable to use public transportation because it is too expensive.
