In one of the oldest restaurants in Dubai an exciting new menu is pulling in the crowds.
두바이에서 오랜 전통을 자랑하는 식당 한 곳이 흥미로운 새 메뉴를 선보여 고객들을 끌어모으고 있다.

Camel meat is widely eaten in some Arab countries, but is not typically sold in supermarkets or served in restaurants.
몇몇 아랍국에선 낙타 고기를 즐겨먹지만, 보통 대형 소매점이나 식당에선 판매하지 않는다.

The Local House restaurant's manager, Ramish Elaweeti explained the idea came from the owner of the restaurant, an Emirati himself.
식당 '로컬 하우스' 지배인인 라미쉬 엘라위티 씨는 아랍에미리트인인 식당 주인이 이 아이디어를 냈다고 설명했다.

"He is himself a local so he knows more about the camel milk, from childhood, he is drinking the camel milk, he is eating the camel meat, he knows more about the camel, so he wanted people to know about it as well."

The ships of the desert are so popular that even the locals have to queue.
지역 주민들이 줄을 서서 기다려야 할 정도로 낙타 고기로 만든 음식의 인기는 대단하다.

The menu has everything from curry, kebab, steaks and burgers.
커리와 케밥, 스테이크, 버거 등 모든 메뉴를 낙타 고기를 사용해 만든다.

There is even camel chocolate, camel milk-shake and camel milk ice-cream.
낙타 초콜릿, 낙타 밀크 쉐이크, 낙타 젖 아이스크림도 있다.

Camel meat is a distinctive raspberry pink colour when raw and more expensive than other meats.
낙타 고기는 날 것일때 특유의 라즈베리 핑크색이 돌며, 다른 육류에 비해 비싼 편이다.

But according to local punter Abdurahman Elmi, it is well worth it.
하지만 이 지역에 사는 식당 고객 압두라흐만 엘미 씨는 비싼 값을 한다고 말한다.

"Camel meat, especially, is the best in the world, in terms of health, it doesn't have any cholesterol, and some doctors here say it has some type of antibiotics, and provides some immunisation for the body."

"낙타 고기는 특히 건강 면에서 세계 최고의 음식이다. 콜레스테롤도 함유돼 있지 않다. 이곳의 의사들은 낙타 고기가 일종의 항생제로, 인체에 면역력을 길러준다고 말하기도 한다."

Who'd have thought that the slow moving camel would become a type of fast food?
움직임이 둔한 낙타가 패스트 푸드(즉석 요리)의 재료가 되리라고 누가 생각이나 했을까?
