How To Throw A Large Cast Net
right so this is how i load a large cast net
first you take the loop that's formed at the end of the line
already put the line right through it flip that right on your wrist nice and tight
do nice loops probably about a foot foot foot and a half loop
all right i've got all the lead line looped up
i'm gonna grab the horn
stretch my net out come up under the horn right here probably about six inches or so from the horn
then i'm gonna come down and loop it two times
so one loop it around two right here
just short of your belt line just a little bit short of your belt line right here on the second loop
and put everything into that one hand i throw it in my right hand
so now from here you want to take a little bit that's close to you
throw it right over your shoulder
just a little bit it doesn't have to be a whole lot then we're going to split the rest of the net into two sections those are the two that are going to go out like that
this one's going to stay back there we go i like a little bit more on this first bunch than i do the second bunch
so now from what's coming off your shoulder you're gonna grab that with your pinky
and your ring finger right here
you're gonna hold that this is what you're gonna let go of very last
you're gonna let go of everything except for this
so now i have my two sections right here
i have my lead right over my shoulder
what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna come up come back boom and i'm going to release i'm going to release everything except for what's in
my in between my pinky and my ring finger on my left hand
so here we go we're going to give it a throw
there you go that's how you throw a large cast net 3:49 get tons of bait nice open net easy easy as that you don't have to use a lot of muscle
it gains a lot of momentum when you come up come back
and shoot it out it just basically opens on its own
a large net in my opinion it's actually easier to throw than a small net all right this Storage is just a quick tip
on how to store your net in a bucket
if you store it in a bucket i have a cast net storage built into my boat but this is a quick way to store it that way
your your rope's not flying all in the wind or and it's a lot easier to dump your net out and get it loaded up the next time you're ready to throw the net so here we go basically want to put everything in backwards put everything in except for the lead lines these are going to go in last boom right on top just like that
now when you're ready to get the net out and throw it
all you have to do dump it out ready to go just like that now you can grab your grab your rope you're ready to load it up just a quick tip all right thank you for tuning in to watch this video we went over how to throw a large cast net anything that's 10 feet and above
this was an 11 foot humpback cast net in the video we went over how to load the net up how to actually use a pendulum motion
up back down and shoot and that way it shoots out hopefully you get it nice and spread out and get plenty of bait every time you throw so again thank you for tuning in captain andrew crabtree st petersburg florida
