27분여 짧은 시간 안에 서명원 신부님과 도전돌밭공동체의 과거-현재-미래를 압축적으로 보여주고 있습니다.

실험적이고 도전적인 온 삶의 여정이 압축되어 있습니다.

열흘간의 촬영을 27분 안에 담아내느라 잘라야 했을 많은 영상들,

특히 편집본에 담기지 못한 인터뷰 내용들도 생각나지만.... 지나온 물에 발을 다시 담글 수는 없는 법입니다.

Director Carine’s The Field of Heaven: A Jesuit in South Korea (Le champ du Ciel, un jésuite en Corée du Sud) is such a beautifully crafted documentary that it hardly needs any explanation.

In just 27 minutes, it captures, with remarkable clarity and economy, the past, present, and future of Father Bernard Senécal and the Dodjeondolbat Community. It condenses an entire life journey—experimental, challenging, and deeply committed—into a remarkably short span of time.

I cannot help thinking of all the footage that must have been left on the cutting-room floor in order to compress ten days of filming into just 27 minutes, especially the many parts of the interviews that did not make it into the final edit. But one can never step into the same river twice.

My deepest respect goes to Producer Carine Poidatz, Director Emmanuel, Director Sylvain, and the entire production team.
