Last semester, I had a very difficult time preparing for my English test because there were many grammar rules and vocabulary words that I could not understand well. I studied alone every day, but I still made many mistakes when I solved practice questions. As the test day became closer, I felt nervous and lost confidence in myself. One of my close friends noticed that I looked stressed during class, so she kindly asked me what was wrong. After hearing my worries, she offered to help me study after school.
Every afternoon for a week, we stayed together in the library and reviewed the lessons step by step. She explained difficult grammar rules in a simple way and made easy example sentences for me. Whenever I answered incorrectly, she encouraged me instead of criticizing me. Because of her patience and kindness, I slowly began to understand the lessons better and became more confident. On the day of the test, I was still a little nervous, but I remembered what my friend taught me and did my best. In the end, I received a much better score than I expected. I was very thankful for her help, and I realized how important true friendship and support can be.
I also had an experience of helping someone else. One day, one of my classmates was absent from school because he was sick for several days. When he returned to school, he looked worried because he had missed many lessons and homework assignments. I decided to help him by lending him my notebook and explaining the important points from each class. We studied together during lunch break and after school for a few days. At first, he said the lessons were confusing, but little by little he started to understand them. Later, he thanked me sincerely and told me that my help made him feel less stressed and more comfortable at school.
Through these experiences, I learned that helping each other is very meaningful. Sometimes even small acts of kindness can give people confidence, comfort, and happiness. I believe that both receiving help and giving help are important parts of building good relationships with others.
