제 28급......斷連(단련)......끊으려 하면서도 연달아 함......第318事

   Level 28 : Danryeon(斷連,단련)... Continuing repeatedly despite trying to sever it... Article 318. 

斷連(단련)은 惡(악)함을 끊으려고 하면서도 다시금 연달아 惡(악)함을 저지르는 것이다.

  Danryeon(斷連,단련) means attempting to sever wickedness ,

  yet, repeatedly committing evil once again. 

비밀스러운 惡(악)함이 이미 드러남에 두려움을 품어 惡(악)을 끊으려 하나

  Out of fear that one′s secret wickedness has been exposed, one tries to sever evil,

사람들의 말이 조금씩 조금씩 갈아 앉아지는 것을 보고 다시금 惡(악)함을 꾀하는 것은
요사스러운 惡(악)함이니 그 재앙을 받게끔 된다.

 Yet seeing the gossip among people gradually subside, 

  plotting wickedness once more is a treacherous / evil deception― thus,

  one is bound to receive the calamity it brings.

斷連者는 欲斷惡而復連惡也라 (단련자는 욕단악이부련악야라)

  Danryeon(severing and continuing) means desiring to sever evil,

  yet continuing to commit evil once again.

密惡이 旣路에 懷懼欲斷이라가 (밀악이 기로에 회구욕단이라가)

  When secret wickedness is already exposed, one harbours fear and desires to sever it,

人言이 稍定에 復謀其惡은 妖惡也니 可領其禍니라. (인언이 초정에 부모기악은 요악야니 가령기화니라.)

  But as people′s talk gradually subsides, piotting that wickedness once more is

  a treacherous evil(妖惡,요악), so one will inevitably receive the calamity(禍,화) it brings.
