제 30급......權隣(권린)......이웃에게 권함......第320事

 Level 30 : Gwonrin(勸隣,권린)... Encouraging or urging neighbors... Article 320.  

權隣(권린)은 자신의 惡(악)함이 고립되는 것을 두려워하여 양순한 사람에게  자신을 따르도록 권유함이다.

  Gwonrin(勸隣,권린) means urging gentle and good-natured people to follow oneself

   out of fear that one′s own wickedness will become isolated.

양순한 사람이 따르지 않으면 오히려 양순한 사람을 모함하여

  If a gentle person does not follow, one goes so far as to frame and slander them,

자신이 악함이 넘쳐 날 정도로 성대해짐은 惡(악)함에 굶주린 것이니 가히 그 재앙을 받게 될 것이다.

  So that one′s wickedness grows to overflowing bounds―this is a starvation for evil,

  and one will surely suffer the disaster it incurs.

權隣者는 恐己惡孤立하여 (권린자는 공기악고립하여)

  Gwonrin(encouraging one′s neighbors) means fear the one′s own wickedness will become isolated, 

權良順從己니 良順이 不從이면 反謀良順하나니 (권양순종기니 양순이 부종이면 반모양순하나니)

  So one urges good and gentle people to follow oneself;

  if those good and gentle people do not follow, one turns around and plots against them.

己惡이 乃漲은 餓惡也라 可領其禍니라. (기악이 내창은 아악야라 가령기화니라.)

  The overflowing expansion of one′s own evil is a state of being starved for wickedness(餓惡,아악),

   so one will inevitably receive the calamity(禍,화) it brings.

 [Explanation, 풀이]

惡(악)함이 외로워지는 것은 당연하다.

  It is natural for evil(wickedness) to become isolated.

그러나 惡(악)함의 정도가 심하면 심할수록 오히려 순박하고 양순한 사람들을 끌여들여
거대한 집단을 이룸을 쉽게 볼 수 있다.

  However, the more severe the degree of evil bocomes,

  the more easily we observe it drawing in innocent and gentle people to form a massive group.
