산모의 정결례  Uncleanness of Childbirth

1 13 주님께서 모세에게 이르셨다.

  The LORD said to Moses: 

2  "너는 이스라엘 자손들에게 이렇게 일러라. '여자가 아기를 배어 사내아이를 낳았을 경우, 이레 동안 부정하게 된다. 월경할 때와 같이 부정하게 된다.

    Tell the Israelites: When a woman has a child, giving birth to a boy, she shall be unclean for seven days, with the same uncleanness as during her menstrual peroid. 

3  여드레째 되는 날에는 아기의 포피를 잘라 할례를 베풀어야 한다.

    On the eighth day, the flesh of the boy's foreskin shall be circumcised, 

4  그리고 그 여자는 피로 더럽혀진 몸이 정결하게 될 때까지, 삼십삼 일 동안 집 안에 머물러 있어야 한다. 몸이 정결하게 되는 기간이 찰 때까지, 거룩한 것에 몸이 닿거나 성소에 들어가서는 안 된다.

    and then she shall spend thirty-three days more in a state of blood purity; she shall not touch anything sacred nor enter the sanctury till the days of her purification are fulfilled. 

5  계집아이를 낳으면, 월경할 때와 같이 두 주 동안 부정하게 된다. 그리고 피로 더럽혀진 몸이 정결하게 될 때까지, 육십육 일 동안 집 안에 머물러 있어야 한다.

    If she gives birth to a girl, for fourteen days she shall be as unclean as during her menstrual period, after which she shall spend sixty-six days in a state of blood purity.

6  몸이 정결하게 되는 기간이 차면, 아들이나 딸을 위하여 번제물로 바칠 일년 된 어린 양 한 마리와, 속죄 제물로 바칠 집비둘기나 산비둘기 한 마리를 만남의 천막 어귀로 가져와서 사제에게 주어야 한다.

    When the days of her purification for a son or for a daughter are fulfilled, she shall bring to the priest at the entrance of the tent of meeting a yearling lamb for a burnt offering and pigeon or a turtledove for a purification offering. 

7  사제는 그것을 주님 앞에 바쳐, 그 여자를 위하여 속죄 예식을 거행한다. 그러면 피로 더럽혀진 그 여자의 몸이 정결하게 된다. 이것이 사내아이나 계집아이를 낳은 산모에 관한 법이다.

    The priest shall offer them before the LORD to make atonement for her, and thus she will be clean again after her flow of blood.

Such is the ritual for the woman who gives birth to a child, male or female. 

8  그러나 양 한 마리를 바칠 힘이 없으면, 산비둘기 두 마리나 집비둘기 두 마리를 가져다가, 한 마리는 번제물로, 한 마리는 속죄 제물로 올려도 된다. 그리하여 사제가 그 여자를 위하여 속죄 예식을 거행하면, 그 여자는 정결하게 된다.' "

    If, however, she cannot afford a lamb, she may take two turtledoves or two pigeons, the one for a burnt offering and the other for a purification offering. The priest shall make atonement for her, and thus she will again be clean.
