1 Corinthians Commentary Chapter 2 (2)
There are two kinds of wisdom. The wisdom of God and the wisdom of this world.
The Bible is invisible without the wisdom of God.
However, human wisdom is still in circulation today. Talk shows are popular these days, right?
This wisdom is the wisdom of the world, the wisdom of the rulers, the wisdom of Nicodemus.
2 Corinthians 2:6 "But we speak wisdom among them that are perfect, yet not the wisdom of this world,
nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought."
This wisdom is not the wisdom of the world or of its rulers, but wisdom that is perfect.
The wisdom of this world is wisdom that will perish, wisdom that is useless.
It is the wisdom to receive forgiveness of sins through the atonement grace of Christ's cross,
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, become one with Christ in the truth,
and fellowship through storytelling that leads to the Lord's throne, praising the Lord,
giving glory to him, and praising him together.
Verse 7 "But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom ,
which God ordained before the world to our glory."
The wisdom of God is in the mystery of Christ. It was hidden.
It is the wisdom that lets us know Christ, and the wisdom that lets us know his truth,
and the wisdom that lets us realize God's will in him.
In fact, it is a great thing to know Christ.
That is eternal life, which means ‘yada, sleep together’ (John 17:3)
Wisdom like this is a mystery already predestined by God.
It is something that God has given us for our glory.
That is why Paul states, "Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called;
and whom he called, them he also justified; and whom he justified, them he also glorified" (Romans 8:30).
Christians who have the wisdom of God accept this word as a fact that has already been fulfilled for them.
Otherwise, they would say that they will be glorified after death.
The glory of God that has been given to us is our glory.
It is easy to understand if you think of glory as a very heavy and precious value.
Having the wisdom to know Christ is our glory itself.
So, the glory of the only begotten Son in John 1:14 would be called the glory of Jesus
by those who see Jesus in the flesh, but those who have the wisdom of God would say
it is the glory of Christ who is present in us.
Verse 8 "Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it,
they would not have crucified the Lord of glory."
"for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory"
No one knew that Jesus was the Son of God.
The Lord of glory died in the form of a despised sinner.
However, as Caiaphas, the high priest at that time, said,
"that it was expedient that one man should die for the people,
and that the whole nation should not perish" (John 18:14),
Jesus became a sacrifice of atonement for the riots against Rome.
Caiaphas' wrong words eventually became a prophecy about Christ.
He was the Lamb who took away the sins of the world (John 1:29),
but now, as the Lamb of God (John 1:36), he is the King of the kingdom of glory
who receives glory from all things in heaven, on earth, and under.
This One is present in us as the Spirit of truth and will be with us until the end of the world.
He is the King of glory and our Savior, Jesus.
He is a mysterious being who is both a personal savior and the king of a kingdom of glory who has come in us.
Verse 9 "As it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man,
the things which God has prepared for them that love him.'"
The things which God has prepared are the spiritual blessings that God wants to give us.
The words of the Spirit cannot be understood without receiving the blessing of God's love.
Even if you have ears and eyes, you cannot understand with your heart without the Holy Spirit.
It is a mystery that no one can know unless you are born again through the death and life of Christ's cross.
Because it is a hidden blessing that God has kept for a long time to give us,
just as a grandfather hides cookies to give to his grandson.
It is not that He felt sorry for humans who are suffering from sin and death,
so He suddenly called His son one day and sent him to Earth and said, “You must come down to Earth.”
It is a salvation already planned before the foundation of the world and kept in Christ.
In accordance with the dispensation of the fullness of time,
he sent his son at a time more precise than a computer calculation,
and he began his salvation by dying on the cross and living again according to his will,
and he is still accomplishing it today.
Therefore, hearing the word of God is a blessing in itself.
This blessing is a promise of salvation that was already prepared before the creation of the world.
My life’s fate was not predetermined, but my salvation was predetermined in Christ.
Verse 10 "But God has revealed them to us by his Spirit,
for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God."
He shows them to those who love.
Visibility, or revelation, is the opposite of hiding.
He shows them to us by the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of light and revelation.
This Spirit searches all things of God.
Some people study the original language or use English Bibles and talk about predestination as unbiblical.
Those people have eyes and ears because they are unspiritual, but they are actually unbiblical people.
Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot see the depths of God's heart.
Just as God created man from the dust of the earth and breathed life into his nostrils,
the Holy Spirit was breathed into the Bible.
The Lord also tells us to breathe and receive the Holy Spirit. (John 20:21)
Verse 11 "For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?
even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God."
The spirit of man knows the things of a man, and the Spirit of God knows the things of God.
The word 'things' includes will, plan, mind, value, purpose, etc.
Therefore, when we pray in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit teaches us the prayers we should pray,
and the Lord hears and answers those prayers.
Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot have fellowship with the Lord who sits at the right hand of God.
The phenomenon of the descent of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost is that the Holy Spirit appears
as tongues of fire, but the essence is that, as the Lord has already said (Matthew 22:41-46),
David always kept the Lord who sits at the right hand of the throne before him and called upon the name of the Lord,
and so we are saved by calling upon the name of the Lord (Acts 2:21).
If you read Acts 2 and are moved by the words and kneel down, that is the wisdom of God.
