應(응)이란 惡(악)은 재앙으로 응징 받고 善(선)은 福(복)으로 보답 받음을 말함이니 6果(과) 39形(형)이 있다.

  Eung(應,응) refers to evil being punished with calamity and goodness being rewarded

  with biessings; it consists of 6 Outcomes(六果,육과) and 39 Forms(三十九形,삼십구형).

應者는 惡受惡報하고 善受福報하나니 有六果三十九形이니라.

(응자는 악수악보하고   선수복보하나니  유육과삼십구형이니라.)

  Retribution(應,응) means that evil receives evil consequences and goodness receives

  blessed rewards; there are six outcomes and thirty-nine forms.
