⑧제 8강령 應(응)과 坤卦(곤괘).

⑧ Main Tenet 8 Eung(應,응) and the Kun Trigram(坤卦,곤괘).

易經(역경)의 설괘전에 의하면 坤(곤)은 땅이며 어머니이며 順(순)이며 藏(장)이며 인체에서는 腹(복)을 상징한다.

  According to the Shuogua Zhuan(Discussion of the Trigrams) in the / Ching(Book of Changes),

  Kun(坤,곤) repersents the Earth, the Mother, Obedience, and Storage / Concealment, 

  while in the human body, it symbolizes the Abdomen(腹,복).

즉 坤(곤)은 땅으로 어머니와 같이 부드러우며 많은 것을 간직하며 인간의 배(腹,복)를 상징한다.

  In other words, Kun is the Earth, which―like a mother―is gentle,

  holds many things within, and symbolizes the human abdomen.

이를 제 8강령은 간단히  應(응)이라 했으니 그 한글자에 坤(곤)의 수동적인 의미가 모두 설명되어 부족함이 없다.

  THe 8th Tenet simply calls this Eung(應,응), and this single character fully encompasses

   the passive meaning of Kun with nothing lacking.

坤卦(곤괘)가 의미하는 땅은 항상 乾卦(건괘)인 하늘의 변화에 응한다.

  The Earth symbolized by the Kun Trigram always responds / adapts to the changes of heaven,

   represented by the Qian Trigram(乾卦,건괘).

제 8강령 應(응)은 제 1강령 誠(성)의 정도에 따라 제 8강령 應(응)이 이루어 지는 것이다.

  Main TEnet 8, Eung(應,응), is realized according to the degree of Main Tenet 1, Seong(誠,성 - Sincerity).

이같이 8강령과 팔괘는 모두가 같은 개념을 말하고 있다.

  Thus, the Eight Tenets and the Eight Trigrams are all speaking of the same concepts.

다시말하면 본 경전이 출현함으로서 易經(역경)의 설괘전에서 설명되지 못한 진정한 팔괘의 의미가 설명되어진 것이다.

  In other words, with the emergence of this scripture, the true meaning of the Eight Trigrams―which

  remained unexplained in the Shuogua Zhuan of the I Ching ―has now been clarified.

다시말하면 본 경전의 원리가 출현함으로써 易經(역경)의 진정한 의미도 함께 알수있게되는 것이다. 

  That is to say, through the revelation of the principles in this scripture,

  the true meaning of the / Ching itself can now also be understood.
