Dear Eun Bin Nim,
Today, in Malaysia, we have two special celebrations here.
First is what we called Chap Goh Mei (in Hokkien dialect) or 元宵节 in Chinese or the celebration of the 15th day of the Chinese New Year celebration. The last day of Chinese New Year. It is also known as Happy Lantern Festival.
Chap Goh Mei (in Hokkien dialect) or 元宵节
Thaipusam
Secondly, we also celebrate Thaipusam Day which is a celebration by the Indian Tamil community in Malaysia on the full moon of the month of Thai. Other communities will also participate in this occasion if they have made a vow and it is fulfilled. Breaking of coconuts and carrying of kavadi are parts of the rituals on this day. Thousands of people will be at Batu.Caves on this day.
Here's to wish you 元宵节快乐 and Happy Thaipusam......
