J&C is a clothing company specializing in woman’s apparel - to design, manufacture and sell career character casual wear, designed by Jae-young Choi, a rising designer preparing for his master’s thesis after completing a fashion design course at Hongick University Graduate School of Industrial Arts, along with his wife who studied in Japan.
Jae-young Choi, representative and designer of J&C, was selected as one of 20 leading Korean fashion designers for the future as issued by “Fashion Culture”, which is a special review magazine, and has been entering into the mainstream through the “rising designer collection” supervised by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, some time ago.
Along with the company philosophy of J&C and president Choi’s motto, “Do not forget your original intention and always try with positive thinking”, he has received training at factories from the entry level, had previous employment experience in Dongdaemun market, and started his own business through these experiences. However, in the real world, success is not so easy, and he managed to obtain many useful know-hows through trial and error. With this new knowledge, he established a local office in New York and launched a brand called "Nit-Shey" to advance into the mid-range and high-priced apparel market. This is why J&C was able to make mass supply to 80 stores, including Norstrom Department Stores, across the US, with sales contract through the New York Fashion Design Show which enabled us to grasp a full understanding of the fashion needs of New York from our experiences in various exports. In addition, we have accumulated much information on Paris from our great interest in Europe before planning exhibition. Based on the results from local researchers, J&C has been preparing to independently manufacture a quality product line.
Also, J&C president Jae-young Choi’s relatives have all been engaged in the fashion circle, including the management of an apparel-manufacturing factory. In particular, his mother-in-law, J&C’s advisor, has devised a perfect prevention system against risk factors ensuing on several environmental variables, such as a property matters or material quantity, using her fashion expertise accumulated for more than 30 years.
J&C uses New York’s fashion code forming modern, luxurious, classic, chic lines, pursuing high value as a quality brand with environmentally friendly materials, together with Korean traditional patterns.
To explain in more detail, based on the sentiments of New York, in order to philosophically express the identity of a Korean designer, J&C will make flexible and appropriate harmony in the use of materials with Korean traditional sources (Korean indigenous pattern ‘Dancheong’) to realize the designer’s philosophy for a very special Dancheong party dress.
Based on all of the above, J&C is to reveal all its designs, steadily and carefully prepared and invested with its pride, with positive thinking for active marketing through the brand name of "JAEYOUNG CHOI".
