특수한 상황에서 쓰는 대명사는 암기하라                      출제빈도★★

출제 경향: 일부 대명사는 특수한 상황에서만 쓰는데, 이런 대명사의 용법은 별도로 정리해 둔다.

one: 셀 수 있는 불특정한 명사를 대신하며, 복수는 ones이다. * it는 특정한 것

that: 동일 문장에서 두 개의 대상을 비교할 때 쓰며, 복수는 those이다.

another: ‘또 다른 하나’를 의미하며, 단수 명사를 대신한다.

the other: 여러 개 중 나머지만을 가리킬 때 쓰며, 여러 개의 나머지는 the others이다.

  I keep three dogs, a black one and two white ones. → one(s) = dog(s)

  The climate of Korea is milder than that of Taiwan. → that = The climate

  I don't like this computer. Show me another. → 또 다른 컴퓨터 하나

  He has three sons. One is in Seoul and the others in Paris. → 나머지 둘

(A) a group of workers를 가리킨다. themselves가 되면 주어인 passing shoppers를 가리키므로 재귀대명사는 맞지 않는다. ☞ Unit 02 참조

(B) another는 ‘또 다른 하나’(단수)를, others는 ‘다른 것(사람)들’(복수)을 의미하므로 other가 알맞다. another와 other는 형용사로도 쓸 수 있는 있는데, 「another+단수명사」, 「other+복수명사」형태로 쓴다.

(C) 불특정한 ‘외국 상품들’을 가리키므로 복수형 ones가 올바르다.
