It’s Time for a Digital Detox
One of my habits is grabbing my phone as soon as I wake up, when the brain is still trying to wake up itself. And I check KakaoTalk and Instagram unintentionally. It has become my daily morning routine, and I've never considered a life without a smartphone. Besides, I can't imagine myself without Netflix, especially during layovers. It seems like being connected and immersed in the digital world is just a normal part of our lives.
We all know that it’s very easy to be consumed by a digital screen. Actually, our electronic devices and social media are designed to keep us hooked for as long as possible. They're intentionally addictive. This is the reality that concerns about digital addiction of people which are drastically growing worldwide. Too much screen time can take a toll on our mental health, disrupting our sleep and our ability to make more productive tasks. Therefore, I would like to tell you taking a break from a digital world, and it will be the most liberating experience of our life.
Have you heard of the term “Digital Detox”? Digital Detox is a newly created combination of ‘digital’ such as smartphones, computers, and laptops and ‘detox’ meaning removal of toxic substances from a living organism. It is a trending concept of removing digital exposure from daily life in order to prevent digital addiction. Also, it could be a way to focus on real-life interactions without distractions. By forgoing digital devices, at least temporarily, it can help you lower stress and physical effects of constant use. I can say that we all need this project to take a break from screen time. Now I recommend you to try these three ways to do a Digital Detox.
1. Keep your phone on silent mode: If you deactivate the notifications of all the insignificant apps, you will check your phone less than before and enjoy your own time more.
2. Delete unnecessary apps: When you don’t have much content and distractions on your phone, you will reduce the time that you spend on it because there’s nothing that could catch your attention.
3. Spend time with real people: If you spend time with your family or friends, you will engage in numerous conversations and eye contact within that space. And this will create memories that are more unforgettable than anything you can experience on your phone. Sometimes we need to have real conversation and spend time together.
What do you think about it? It may be difficult to cut off complete digital devices right away. But wouldn't it be worthy practicing just a few things with these rules? For your healthy living, think about a Digital Detox and keep distance from your digital devices for an hour and talk to your loved one in the eyes. I recommend you to try step by step as you can.

*take a[its] toll : ~에 큰 피해[타격]를 주다
*forgo(forgoing) : (하고싶은 것을) 포기하다
*lower : ~을 내리다[낮추다]

4. 그 문단 첫문장 "Digital Detox?" 이렇게 모든 마치는 부호는 쌍따옴표 안으로 넣어주세요.
5. 마지막 문단 마지막에서 두번재 문장 keep distance from your digital devices 복수가 더 적절할 것 같습니다.
