※ Bible: James 5:7-18
※ Title: Patience in the midst of hope.
I love and respect you in the Lord who worship the Lord with the love of the Lord today and who are busy with the week. And I appreciate it. And I bless you in the name of the Lord that the Lord will respond to you with grace and blessing. Patience in the middle of your wish today. I'll tell you what I'm going to say.
Last Thursday, after the early morning prayer meeting, give it to me in private prayer time! When he prayed, "Give me the message of this week!" God said in my heart, "Patience among your wishes." So persevere in your hope the title of the word. That's what I decided. I hope the Holy Spirit will pour oil and work when I deliver this message again today.
Yes, everyone has a dream. And I believe there must be a dream. If you don't have a dream, it's hard to predict the next. One of the biggest shocks to the Korean people in recent years is the Yoo Young-chul incident. Yoo Young-chul was born on April 18, 1970 and is now 51 years old on death row. He is a serial killer who killed 20 people from September 2003 to July 2004. He even killed a man in prison. Usually, I was nice, but when anyone came close, I bit him, twisted his arm, hit him in the back of the head, and shouted, killing him. I'm the one who's done! You really don't know me? If I kill you, I'll be executed anyway! I said that as if I were eating. Yes, he was a man who would die anyway. He was a non-religious man who had no religion. Therefore, he doesn't have a dream. I didn't have any wish. No matter how kind you are, you can't go out into the world. I spend time in prison waiting for the day I die. What a pathetic person.
But ordinary people have a dream. Unlike people I don't believe in, I have a hope in heaven. I believe that I will live in heaven where the Lord exists after this world is over. Yes, believe in the Lord Jesus through Paul, the apostle. Then you and your house will be saved. He promised that. Therefore, I believe in that promise.
What is heaven like? John the Apostle sees heaven in his fantasy and declares this in Revelation 21:1-7.
(1) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.
(2) I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
(3) And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
(4) He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
(5) He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."
(6) He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.
(7) He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
In Revelation 22:1-5, this is the testimony.
(1) Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
(2) down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.
(3) No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.
(4) They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
(5) There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.
This is my wish. So I envy the rich of faith more than the rich of the world. Therefore, I bless you in the name of the Lord to have the same faith as me. Now I want to share the grace that the Lord gives me while reading God's words today.
● James 5:7-8
(7) Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains.
(8) You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near.
First, the road is to endure until the Lord comes down. There was a test to select missionaries from a missionary group. The date and place of the test were announced, but it was too early. The test starts at 4 a.m. The aspiring students went to the designated place at that time, but somehow the door was closed. It'll open in a little while, right? But the door didn't open even after 30 minutes. A lot of angry people went back. The door opened at 8 a.m., four hours after the designated time, and several people who remained until then took the written test. Once again, aspiring students who took the test had to endure the rising anger.
It's an easy and simple problem that even elementary school students can solve. Then, the test is over, so go back. What kind of test is this? Is it okay to do this for the missionary examination abroad? I went back with a question. A few days later, a letter of acceptance was delivered. There was a message like this written on it.
[Congratulations on your confident acceptance of the missionary test] You passed the time test first. We were watching well that it came at 4 a.m. sharp. And you passed the test of obedience and patience. We were carefully watching that we waited for 4 hours from 4 to 8. And you passed the test of sincerity. You answered a very ordinary question with sincerity. We thank God for working with you.]
Yes, I believe that punctuality, endurance, and sincerity are the three major conditions of missionaries. Therefore, the apostle James says, "For the farmer wants the precious fruit from the earth, and the road waits for the early and late rain, and you must endure the rain and strengthen your heart, for the strongness of the Lord is near." Therefore, I bless you in the name of the Lord that our God will give you the grace of patience.
● James 5:9-10
(9) Don't grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!
(10) Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
There is a term in social psychology called 'cause attribution'. It's a deep term. Every case has a cause. Every event has an invisible cause before and after that as a result. This is called causality. Strangely, people rarely think about the cause of happy things.
Where did this happiness come from when you were so happy. What brings me to a peaceful and blessed life? I don't think much about this kind of problem. On the other hand, when you're unhappy, when you're sick, when you're failing, when you're suffering, when you're too hard, you think about the cause. I try my best to go back to somewhere, not myself. Because there is a reason for the result. There is a clear cause for an incident, whether we know it or not, believe it or not. The problem is not to realize and accept the cause of the incident as it is, but to attribute it to something that has nothing to do with the fact. This is called resentment.
But the Holy Spirit, don't blame us today. Here you go. What should I do? I've been praying. The Holy Spirit said thank you. Yes, the saints should be grateful. To do so, you have to have faith. Because? Then you get it by faith.
For example, I have regrets when I attribute the cause to myself. Therefore, the saints say, "Make the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord an example of suffering and patience." What is Bourne? It's sample in English. Then? Who is our sample? Yes, it's Jesus.
The Lord has set an example for our service. You've become an example of prayer. You've become an example of faith. You've become an example of obedience. One pastor wants to look like Jesus by arranging chapter 463 of our hymn, which is famous for being a black spiritual. Sincerely, sincerely, I want to resemble Jesus. I sincerely, sincerely, sincerely want to resemble Jesus. Sincerely. You lead the revival party. I received a lot of grace.
That's right. Our sample... My example is Jesus. Therefore, I bless you in the name of the Lord that your life will look only at Jesus and resemble him as the days go by, the months go by, and the years go by.
● James 5:11-12
(11) As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.
(12) Above all, my brothers, do not swear--not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. Let your "Yes" be yes, and your "No," no, or you will be condemned.
Yes, saints are those who fear sin. Therefore, the apostle James should not be condemned. He speaks earnestly. What's the crime? According to Daniel 5:22-27.
(22) "But you his son, O Belshazzar, have not humbled yourself, though you knew all this.
(23) Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.
(24) Therefore he sent the hand that wrote the inscription.
(25) "This is the inscription that was written: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, PARSIN
(26) "This is what these words mean: Mene : God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.
(27) Tekel : You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.
That's right. It's a sin not to lower your mind. It is a sin to raise oneself above God. It's a sin not to be able to discern. It is a sin not to give glory to God. It's a sin if it's not enough. I believe that sin makes the guilty a sinner and leads the sinner to hell by tying the sinner to an invisible chain. Therefore, I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will not take sin lightly and be free from sin for fear of it.
● James 5:13
(13) Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.
That's right. From this point on, it's the saint's way of dealing with it. I believe that the hardships that came to the saints are a sign of God who sent them to pray. I believe that's when a new grace is ready.
Did something fun happen? Did you make any unexpected money? Did you pass the exam that everyone else failed? I believe this is God's blessing. Therefore, I hope that you will sing a hymn. May you give glory to God.
● James 5:14-15
(14) Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.
(15) And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.
Yes, I hope it doesn't hurt, but we, the people of God, can be sick as much as we want while we live in the world. What should I do at this time? Ask for the pastor and the pastor should pray with his hands on the name of the Lord. I believe that the Lord is delivering prayers by faith to the sick. He says that even if he committed a crime, he will be forgiven.
● James 5:16-18
(16) Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
(17) Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.
(18) Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.
Yes, Elijah is not a quirky man. He has the same sex as us. You're the same man you are. However, pastors are special people who God uses.
A New York female teacher has decided to award her senior high school students.
The teacher made the students come forward one by one. And how special is the student in his class? I've explained. Then, I attached blue ribbons to each student.
"You are a special person to me in golden letters on the ribbon." After this, the teacher made one more plan. I told each student to give three more blue ribbons, then take them and put them on the people around him. The homework was to write the result a week later. A student visited the vice president of a company near the school. Not long ago, the vice president kindly consulted me about his career problems. The student put a blue ribbon on the vice president's collar and gave him two more ribbons. "This is my teacher's idea, and please put this ribbon on someone special you admire. And let me put the other one on his special person. And make sure you tell me the results in a week." Who will the vice president wear this blue ribbon to that evening? I thought about it and went to the boss.
The boss was well-known to all employees as a terrible person. However, the vice president approached the president and expressed his sincere respect for his genius and creativity. The boss was very surprised. The vice president took out the blue ribbon and said he wanted to give it as a thank you gift. The boss was embarrassed and pleased to say. "Oh! Oh! Thank you so much!" The vice president put a blue ribbon on your chest and took out the other one. And then he said, "Please put this ribbon on the special person you cherish. In fact, a student brought these ribbons and handed them to me and asked me to do this." The boss, who returned home that evening, sat down his 17-year-old son and said. "Sweetheart, something incredible happened to me today. I was sitting in the office and the vice president came in and he said I was a very creative and genius person and put this ribbon on me. Think about it. I mean, I'm creative and I'm a genius. Hahaha! He put this ribbon on my chest saying, "The boss is a special person to me." Then, hand me another ribbon, and put it on someone I especially value! Who should I wear this ribbon to on my way home this evening? I've been thinking, and I've been thinking about you! I want to put this ribbon on you! I'm busy all day doing business. So I couldn't pay much attention to you when I got home! Sometimes I'd yell at you for falling out of grades and oversleeping or messing around the room! But I really want to tell you this tonight! You're more special than anyone else to this father! Like your mother, you are the most precious thing in my life! You're my great son, and I love you so much." And all of a sudden, my son started sobbing. My son shed tears again and again. My whole body was shaking so hard. The son, who finally looked up and looked at his father, cried and said. "Dad! Actually, I decided to commit suicide tomorrow morning. I thought my dad didn't love me. I thought I was a useless person who didn't deserve to live in this world. You don't have to do that anymore."
Dear all. Don't be daunted or discouraged by the lack of wealth or achievement you have accumulated, even if you have failed, made mistakes. I believe that you are so special to God no matter what you are now. Bless you in the name of the Lord to remember that you are the heir of God who will receive the kingdom of God as a dairy in the future. God loves you just the way you are. God loves me. To know the truth is the difference between heaven and hell.
In preparation for this, I sang and sang the hymn 216:4 by Reverend Sylvanus Dryden Phelps (1816-1895) in 1864.
4. All that I am and have Thy gifts so free
In joy, in grief, thro' life, Dear Lord, for Thee!
And when Thy face I see, My ran-somed soul shall be,
Thro' all e-ter-ni-ty, Some-thing for Thee. A-men.
Let's sing it together.
1. Sav-ior! Thy dy-ing love Thou gav-est me,
Nor should I aught with-hold Dear Lord, from Thee:
In love my soul would bow, My heart ful-fill its vow,
Some of-fering bring Thee now, Some-thing for Thee.
2. At the blest mer-cy-seat, Plead-ing for me,
My fee-ble faith looks up, Je-sus, to Thee;
Help me the cross to bear, Thy won-drous love de-clare,
Some song to raise, or prayer, Some-thing for Thee.
3. Give me a faith-ful heart, Guid-ed by Thee,
That each de-part-ing day Hence-forth may see
Some work of love be-gun, Some deed of kind-ness done,
Some wan-derer sought and won, Some-thing for Thee.
4. All that I am and have Thy gifts so free
In joy, in grief, thro' life, Dear Lord, for Thee!
And when Thy face I see, My ran-somed soul shall be,
Thro' all e-ter-ni-ty, Some-thing for Thee. A-men.
● I'll just read you verses James 5:19-20
(19) My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back,
(20) remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins. Amen.
