제1장.上經(상경) 21訓(훈) 157事(사).

Chapter 1. Upper Scripture(Sang-gyeong) : 21 Lessons, 157 Deeds.

제1 강령 성(誠).....정성.....第一事(제일사)

The 1st Principle : Sincerity(誠 성- Seong).....Devotion(Jeong-seong)...

...The First Deed.

성(誠)은 인간의 가장 중심이 되는 곳에서부터 싹트는 것이며,
하늘이 부여한 깨끗한 본 바탕을 지키고 져 하는 것이다.
성(誠)에는 6체(體)47용(用)이 있다.

 {Sincerity(Seong) sprouts from the very center of a human being.

  It is the will to protect the pure,

  orignal foundation bestowed by Heaven.

  Within Sincerity(Seong), there are 6 Bodies(Che) and 47 Applications (Yong).}

● 誠者는 忠心之所發이오(성자는 충심지소발이오)

   (Sincerity is that which emanates from the center of the heart.)

● 血性之所守니 有六體四十七用이니라.(혈성지소수니 육육체사십칠용이니라.)

  (It is what the fundamental nature of one′s lifeblood protects,

   it possesses 6 Bodies and 47 Applications.)

[ Interpretation( Explanation),풀이]

정성은 마음의 한가운데에서 꽃이 피어나듯 일어난다.
인간 누구나의 마음 한가운데는 천하에서 가장 큰 근본이 있다.

{Devotion(Jeong-seong) rises like a flower blooming from

the absolute center of heart.

Within the center of every human heart lies the greatest foundation in the world.}

삼일신고에서 인간의 중앙에
하나님이내려와 계시다(一神降衷,일신강충)라고 한 것이 곧 그것이다.

{ In the Samil- singo( a sacred Korean text), it is said that

"God descends and resides in the center of the human heart"

(一神降衷 일신강충, - II - sin - gang - chung) : this refers to that very foundation.}

인간의 가장 큰근본은 누구나의 마음속에 항상 계시니 정성은 그 큰 근본을
반드시 지키고 자하는 것이다.

{"The greatest root of humannity always resides within everyone′s heart,

   so sincerity is the earnest desire to surely protect and maintain that great root."}

※ 忠心(충심, Chung-sim): 단순히 '충성'이 아니라, 

     글자 그대로 마음(心,심)의 中(중)을 의미 합니다.

     영어로는 "The center of the heart" Ehsms "Core of the mind"로 번역됨.

    一神降衷(일신강충, II - sin - gang - chung) : 

    "하나님이 우리 마음의 중심에 내려와 계신다"는 뜻으로,

      인간 내면의 신성(Divinity)를 강조하는 표현입니다.

     血性(혈성,Hyeol -seong) : 타고난 본성, 혹은 생명력의 근간을 뜻합니다.
