에스라7:1

혼돈과 불확실성 가득한 상황에서 공동체를 이끌 지도자의 자격은 무엇인가? 패배 의식과 좌절감, 낙망에서 건져 희망을 일굴 수 있는 교회는 어떤 모습이어야 할까? 불확실성이 지배하는 시대일수록 담대함과 큰 확신을 가진 리더십이 요청된다고 생각합니다. 하나님께서 에스라를 준비시키시자, 아닥사스다 제7년에 왕의 은혜를 입은 에스라가 바벨론에서 예루살렘으로 올라왔습니다. 에스라는 대제사장 아론의16대 손으로서 제사장 가문 출신이었습니다.

What is the qualification of a leader to lead a community in a situation full of chaos and uncertainty? What kind of church should it look like to lift up hope from the sense of defeat, frustration, and despair? I think leadership with boldness and great confidence is required in the era of uncertainty. When God prepared Ezra, in the seventh year of Adaxas, Ezra, who received the grace of the king, came up to Jerusalem from Babylon. Ezra was the 16th son of Aaron, the high priest, from a family of priests.

율법을 통해 말씀하시는 하나님을 참된 왕으로 인정하고 순종한 그를 세상의 왕에게서도 인정받도록 높이신 것입니다. 에스라는 율법을 연구하고 준행하고 또 가르쳤습니다. 연구는 비현실성에서, 준행은 불확실성에서, 가르침(나눔)은 위선과 피상성에서 우리를 건져줄 것입니다. 아, 나는 언제나 공동체의 부름을 받을 것인가? 하나님 저도 불러 주세요. 티칭하고 싶어요.

He recognized God who spoke through the law as the true king and raised him to be recognized by the king of the world as well. Ezra studied, followed, and taught the law. Research will save us from impracticality, quasi law from uncertainty, and teachings (sharing) will save us from hypocrisy and superficiality. Oh, will I always be called by the community? 이스라엘 자손과 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 노래하는 자들과 문지기들과 느디님 사람들 중에 몇 사람이 예루살렘으로 올라올 때에 에스라도 바벨론에서 예루살렘으로 올라 왔습니다(1-5). 대제사장 아론의 십 육대 자손인 에스라는 모세 율법에 익숙한 학자였고 하나님의 도우심을 입어 왕에게 구하는 것마다 다 받았습니다. 이제 때가 차므로 발견된 조서를 통해 하나님이 말씀하십니다.

When some of the Israelites, priests, Levites, singers, gatekeepers, and Nildians came up to Jerusalem from Babylon (1-5). Ezra, a descendant of Aaron the high priest, was a scholar familiar with the laws of Moses and received everything he asked for from the king with the help of God. Now it is time, and God says in his discovered record.

1. 예루살렘으로 올라갈 뜻이 있는 자는 함께 데려갈 것과 2. 왕과 온 바벨론에서 준 은금으로 성전과 하나님 뜻에 따라 쓸 것과 3. 부족한 것은 유브라데강 건너편 궁중창고에서 내다가 성전에 드릴 것과 4. 율법을 아는 자를 세우고 가르쳐 하나님과 왕의 명령에 준행하게 하라고 하자, 에스라는 5. 그 모든 것을 주신 하나님을 송축하고 여호와의 율법을 연구하여 준행하며 율례와 규례를 이스라엘에게 가르치기로 결심하였습니다(10).

이렇게 하나님은 에스라를 통해 2차로 유배지에서 귀환하도록 도우셨습니다. 무슨 이유로든지 첫 귀환자는 즉시 합류하지 못했지만 늦게나마 다시 돌아와 하나님의 약속 실현에 참여하겠다고 결단한 이들을 하나님께서 도우신 것입니다. 에스라를 배출한 믿음의 가문, 율법을 잘 간직한 에스라, 에스라의 귀환대열에 합류한 사람들, 나는 하나님의 말씀대로 준행하며 살고 있는가? 에스라는 왕의 신임을 받았는데 난, 신뢰할 만 한 사람인가? 시대가 요청하는 인물로 살기 위해 무엇이 필요한가?
