God is the God of the living. In today's passage, as Jesus preached the gospel to the people, the scribes and elders asked by what authority He was doing these things; Jesus then asked them whether John the Baptist's baptism was from heaven or from men, and they could not answer. He also told the parable of the vineyard tenants, declaring that the tenants who killed the owner's son, sent to collect the produce, would be destroyed, and that the vineyard would be given to another. Furthermore, to those sent to find fault with Him, He said, "Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and to God what belongs to God." Amen.
