(렘46:1-18)
1 This is the word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations:  2 Concerning Egypt: This is the message against the army of Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt, which was defeated at Carchemish on the Euphrates River by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:  3 "Prepare your shields, both large and small, and march out for battle!  4 Harness the horses, mount the steeds! Take your positions with helmets on! Polish your spears, put on your armor!  5 What do I see? They are terrified, they are retreating, their warriors are defeated. They flee in haste without looking back, and there is terror on every side," declares the LORD.  6 "The swift cannot flee nor the strong escape. In the north by the River Euphrates they stumble and fall.  7 "Who is this that rises like the Nile, like rivers of surging waters?  8 Egypt rises like the Nile, like rivers of surging waters. She says, 'I will rise and cover the earth; I will destroy cities and their people.'  9 Charge, O horses! Drive furiously, O charioteers! March on, O warriors--men of Cush and Put who carry shields, men of Lydia who draw the bow.  10 But that day belongs to the Lord, the LORD Almighty--a day of vengeance, for vengeance on his foes. The sword will devour till it is satisfied, till it has quenched its thirst with blood. For the Lord, the LORD Almighty, will offer sacrifice in the land of the north by the River Euphrates.  11 "Go up to Gilead and get balm, O Virgin Daughter of Egypt. But you multiply remedies in vain; there is no healing for you.  12 The nations will hear of your shame; your cries will fill the earth. One warrior will stumble over another; both will fall down together."  13 This is the message the LORD spoke to Jeremiah the prophet about the coming of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to attack Egypt:  14 "Announce this in Egypt, and proclaim it in Migdol; proclaim it also in Memphis and Tahpanhes: 'Take your positions and get ready, for the sword devours those around you.'  15 Why will your warriors be laid low? They cannot stand, for the LORD will push them down.  16 They will stumble repeatedly; they will fall over each other. They will say, 'Get up, let us go back to our own people and our native lands, away from the sword of the oppressor.'  17 There they will exclaim, 'Pharaoh king of Egypt is only a loud noise; he has missed his opportunity.'  18 "As surely as I live," declares the King, whose name is the LORD Almighty, "one will come who is like Tabor among the mountains, like Carmel by the sea.  


갈그미스에서의 전투는 2차례나 된다
BC608년 남유다의 요시야 왕 때
그때 애굽은 앗수르를 대패(大敗)시켜
앗수르를 크게 약화 시키는 결과를 낳았다

BC605년
그러니까 1차 갈그미스 전투가 마쳐진 지 3년 정도 지났을 때
허약해진 앗수르를 바벨론의 느브갓네살2세가 접수하려는 시도를 하게 되는데...
이때 애굽의 바로느고는 바벨론의 팽창을 막기 위하여  2차 갈그미스 전쟁을 시작한 것

아마도 첫 번째 대승으로 말미암아
애굽군대는 기고만장(氣高萬丈)
교만(驕慢)이 극(極)에 달한 것으로 보인다
잠16:18 잠18:12 그렇게 됨의 결국은 패망(敗亡)임을 몰랐음은 애굽의 엄청난 실책(失策)이었던 것

하여 갈그미스 전투의 대패(大敗)로 말미암아
애굽은 크게 약화 되었으며
이로 말미암아 1년후인 BC604 
느브갓네살의 침공을 받은 애굽은 3년동안 본토에서 전쟁을 해야만 했다

하여 애굽은 지중해 동편의 영향권을 잃었고
본토 곧 나일강 주변을 벗어나지 못하는
옛 광영 모두를 잃어버린
상태가 되고 만다

오늘의 말씀을 통해서  하나님은 내게
이이제이(以夷制夷) 라는 단어를 생각나게 한다
북이스라엘을 멸망시킨 앗수르 남유다의 선한 왕 요시야를 죽인 애굽의 바로느고
뜨거운 감자를 먹을 바로 그들 양국을 바벨론의 느브갓네살을 통하여 아주 혹독한 결말을 거두게 하셨으니...

오늘날 역시
하나님은 공의심판주(公義審判主)
그 원리를 따라 내 목회사(牧會史)를 주도(主導)하신 하나님께서
이번에는 영적으로 내 목양지의 원수 사단을 처리해 주셨으면...하는 간절함을 올려 드린다
