두루미

- 하늘 소리

오 무 영

긴 목을 곧게 뻗으며

사방 갸웃거리며

세상은 서로 미워하는 소리뿐인걸,

두 날개를 접으며

긴 다리를 움츠리던 너

먼 산기슭을 한 바퀴 휘돌아오는가,

어딘가, 찾을 수 없을까

그 마음 알아듣는 선인은,

먼 나라 숲속에는

하늘 소리에 가슴을 열고

기도하는

한 기인이 산다고 하지만,

Crane - A Heavenly Cry

Though she stretches her long neck,

peering endlessly in every direction,

she hears nothing but the bitter cries of hatred.

Folding her wings,

drawing up her long legs,

she circles over the foothills of a distant mountain.

Where, indeed, might she find the sage

who truly understands the depth of her heart?

There are only whispers of a holy man

dwelling deep within some faraway forest—

one who would offer a prayer, with open soul,

to her celestial cry.
