Bible Reading - Hebrews 11:1~10

11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for 믿음은 우리가 바라는 것을 확신하는 것이며 

and certain of what we do not see. 우리가 보지 못하는 어떤 것

해석 - 믿음은 우리가 바라는 것과 보지 못하는 어떤 것을 확신하는 것이다. 

11:2 This is what the ancients were commended(기리다. 칭찬하다) for.

고대인들이 칭찬을 받은 이유가 바로 이것이다.

11:3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command,

믿음으로 우리는 우주가 하나님의 명령으로 형성된 것을 이해한다.

so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

그러므로 보여지는 것은 볼 수 있는 것으로 이루어진 것이 아니다.

11:4 By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did.

믿음으로 아벨은 가인이 드린 것보다 더 나은 제물을 하나님께 드렸다.

By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings. 

믿음으로 하나님께서 그의 제물에 대하여 좋게 말씀하셨을 때, 그는 의로운 사람으로 칭찬을 받았다.

And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead.

그리고 비록 그는 죽었지만 여전히 믿음으로 말한다. 

11:5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, 믿음으로 에녹은 이 세상(생명)로부터 취하여졌다.

so that he did not experience death; 그래서 그는 죽음을 경험하지 못했다.

he could not be found, 그는 발견되어질 수 없었다.

because God had taken him away. 왜냐하면 하나님께서 그를 데려가셨기 때문이다. 

For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.

그가 (하늘로) 취하여지기 전에 그는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 자로서 칭찬을 받았다.

11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God,

그리고 믿음이 없이 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 것은 불가능하다.

because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

왜냐하면 그에게 오는 자는 그가 존재하시는 것과 그를 열심히 구하는(찾는) 자들에게 상주시는 것을 믿어야 한다.

11:7 By faith Noah, 믿음으로 노아는 

when warned about things not yet seen, 아직 보지 못하는 것들에 대해 경고를 받았을 때

in holy fear built an ark to save his family. 거룩한 두려움으로 그의 가족을 구하려고 방주를 지었다.

By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

믿음으로 그는 세상을 정죄했고 믿음으로 오는 의의 상속자가 되었다.

11:8 By faith Abraham, 믿음으로 아브라함은 

when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, 

그의 유산으로서 후에 받게 될 한 장소로 가도록 부름을 받았을 때 

obeyed and went, 순종하여 갔다.

even though he did not know where he was going. 심지어 그가 가고 있었던 곳을 알지 못했지만

11:9 By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; 

믿음으로 그는 외국에서 낯선 자와 같이 약속된 땅에서 그의 집을 만들었다.

he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.

그는 이삭과 야곱이 했던 것처럼  동일한 약속을 받았던 상속자들로서 장막에서 살았다.

11:10 For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

그는 하나님께서 설계하시고 건축하실 기초가 있는 도시를 바라고 있었다.
