"Effect" and "affect "are often confused! Here's a simple way to explain the difference between them:

Affect (with an "A") is usually a verb. It means "action" or "change".

Example: "The rain affects my mood." (The rain changes how I feel.)

Effect (with an "E") is usually a noun. It means "an end result".

Example: "The rain is making a pretty effect on the window." (The end result of rain on the window, is a pretty pattern of raindrops)
