[사랑하는 나의 가족]

[바이블 애플] KJV 흠정역 에스라4장

1. 이제 포로로 사로잡혀 갔던 자들의 자손이 {주} 이스라엘의 [하나님]을 위하여 성전을 건축하였다는 것을 유다와 베냐민의 대적들이 듣고

Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel; 

2. 그때에 스룹바벨과 아버지들의 우두머리들에게 나아와 그들에게 이르되, 우리가 너희와 함께 건축하게 하라. 우리도 너희처럼 너희 [하나님]을 구하나니 우리를 여기로 데려온 앗수르 왕 에살핫돈의 시대로부터 우리가 그분께 희생물을 드리느니라, 하였으나

Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye [do]; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.

3. 스룹바벨과 예수아와 이스라엘의 아버지들의 우두머리들 가운데 남은 자들이 그들에게 이르되, 우리 [하나님]을 위해 집을 건축하는 일에 너희는 우리와 아무 상관이 없느니라. 고레스 왕 곧 페르시아 왕이 우리에게 명령한 대로 우리가 {주} 이스라엘의 [하나님]을 위해 우리 스스로 건축하리라, 하였더니

But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.

4. 그때에 그 땅의 백성이 유다 백성의 손을 약하게 하고 건축하는 일에서 그들을 괴롭게 하며

Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building,

5. 페르시아 왕 고레스의 전 생애 동안과 페르시아 왕 다리오가 통치할 때까지 조언자들을 고용하여 그들을 대적하게 하고 그들의 목적을 좌절시키려 하였으며

And hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.

6. 아하수에로의 통치 때에 곧 그가 통치하기 시작할 때에 그들이 유다와 예루살렘 거주민들을 고소하는 글을 그에게 보내었더라.

And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, wrote they [unto him] an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem. 

7. 또 아닥사스다 시대에 비슬람과 미드르닷과 다브엘과 그들의 동료들 가운데 남은 자들이 페르시아 왕 아닥사스다에게 글을 올렸으니 이 편지의 글은 시리아 말로 기록되고 또 시리아 말로 번역되었더라.

And in the days of Artaxerxes wrote Bishlam, Mithredath, Tabeel, and the rest of their companions, unto Artaxerxes king of Persia; and the writing of the letter [was] written in the Syrian tongue, and interpreted in the Syrian tongue. 

8. 장관 르훔과 서기관 심새가 예루살렘을 치려고 아닥사스다 왕에게 이런 식의 편지를 썼으니

Rehum the chancellor and Shimshai the scribe wrote a letter against Jerusalem to Artaxerxes the king in this sort: 

9. 그때에 장관 르훔과 서기관 심새와 그들의 동료들 가운데 남은 자들 곧 디나 사람과 아바삿 사람과 다블래 사람과 아바새 사람과 아렉 사람과 바빌론 사람과 수산 사람과 데해 사람과 엘람 사람과

Then [wrote] Rehum the chancellor, and Shimshai the scribe, and the rest of their companions; the Dinaites, the Apharsathchites, the Tarpelites, the Apharsites, the Archevites, the Babylonians, the Susanchites, the Dehavites, [and] the Elamites, 

10. 민족들 중에서 남은 자들 즉 위대하고 존귀한 아스납발이 데려다가 사마리아의 도시들에 둔 자들과 강 이편에 남아 있던 자들이 이때에 편지를 썼더라.

And the rest of the nations whom the great and noble Asnappar brought over, and set in the cities of Samaria, and the rest [that are] on this side the river, and at such a time. 

11. 그들이 그에게 곧 아닥사스다 왕에게 보낸 그 편지의 사본은 이러하니라. 강 이편에 있는 자들 즉 왕의 신하들은 이때에

This [is] the copy of the letter that they sent unto him, [even] unto Artaxerxes the king; Thy servants the men on this side the river, and at such a time.

12. 왕께 이것을 알리나이다. 곧 왕으로부터 우리에게로 올라온 유대인들이 예루살렘에 이르러 반역을 일삼는 나쁜 도시를 건축하여 이미 그것의 성벽을 세우고 기초들을 연결하였사오니

Be it known unto the king, that the Jews which came up from thee to us are come unto Jerusalem, building the rebellious and the bad city, and have set up the walls [thereof], and joined the foundations. 

13. 이제 왕께서는 이것을 아시옵소서. 곧 이 도시가 건축되고 성벽이 다시 세워지면 그들이 세금과 조공과 관세를 바치지 아니하리니 이로써 왕께서는 왕들의 세입에서 손해를 보리이다.

Be it known now unto the king, that, if this city be builded, and the walls set up [again, then] will they not pay toll, tribute, and custom, and [so] thou shalt endamage the revenue of the kings. 

14. 이제 우리가 왕의 궁궐에서 양식을 받아 생계를 유지하므로 왕의 수치를 보는 것이 우리에게 합당하지 아니하오며 따라서 사람을 보내어 왕께 확실히 알리오니

Now because we have maintenance from [the kings] palace, and it was not meet for us to see the kings dishonour, therefore have we sent and certified the king; 

15. 왕의 조상들에 관한 기록 책을 찾아보게 하소서. 그리하시면 그 기록 책에서 이 도시가 반역하는 도시로서 왕들과 여러 지방에 해를 끼친 것과 또 옛날에 그들이 바로 그 안에서 반란을 일으킨 것을 왕께서 찾아내고 아시리이다. 그런 까닭에 이 도시가 멸망하였나이다.

That search may be made in the book of the records of thy fathers: so shalt thou find in the book of the records, and know that this city [is] a rebellious city, and hurtful unto kings and provinces, and that they have moved sedition within the same of old time: for which cause was this city destroyed. 

16. 우리가 왕께 알리오니 이 도시가 다시 건축되고 그것의 성벽이 세워지면 이것으로 말미암아 왕께서는 강 이편에서 아무 몫도 소유하지 못하시리이다, 하였더라.

We certify the king that, if this city be builded [again], and the walls thereof set up, by this means thou shalt have no portion on this side the river.

17. 그때에 왕이 장관 르훔과 서기관 심새와 사마리아에 거하는 그들의 동료들 가운데 남은 자들과 강 건너에 남아 있는 사람들에게 답장을 보내니 일렀으되, 평강이 이때에 있을지어다.

[Then] sent the king an answer unto Rehum the chancellor, and [to] Shimshai the scribe, and [to] the rest of their companions that dwell in Samaria, and [unto] the rest beyond the river, Peace, and at such a time. 

18. 너희가 우리에게 보낸 편지를 내 앞에서 분명하게 낭독시키고

The letter which ye sent unto us hath been plainly read before me.

19. 내가 명령하고 찾아보게 하니 옛날에 이 도시가 왕들을 거역하여 폭동을 일으켰고 그 안에서 반역과 반란이 있었으며

And I commanded, and search hath been made, and it is found that this city of old time hath made insurrection against kings, and [that] rebellion and sedition have been made therein. 

20. 또 전에는 예루살렘을 다스리는 강한 왕들이 있어서 그들이 강 건너의 모든 지역을 다스리매 사람들이 세금과 조공과 관세를 그들에게 바친 것이 발견되었도다.

There have been mighty kings also over Jerusalem, which have ruled over all [countries] beyond the river; and toll, tribute, and custom, was paid unto them.

21. 이제 너희는 명령을 전달하여 이 사람들이 공사를 중단하게 하고 내가 다른 명령을 내릴 때까지 이 도시를 건축하지 못하게 하라.

Give ye now commandment to cause these men to cease, and that this city be not builded, until [another] commandment shall be given from me. 

22. 이제 주의를 기울여 이 일 행하는 것을 그르치지 말라. 어찌 손해가 자라서 왕들에게 해를 끼치게 하랴? 하였더라.

Take heed now that ye fail not to do this: why should damage grow to the hurt of the kings?

23. 이제 아닥사스다 왕의 편지 사본을 르훔과 서기관 심새와 그들의 동료들 앞에서 낭독하매 그들이 예루살렘으로 급히 가서 유대인들에게 이르러 힘과 권세를 이용하여 그들로 하여금 공사를 중단하게 하니

Now when the copy of king Artaxerxes letter [was] read before Rehum, and Shimshai the scribe, and their companions, they went up in haste to Jerusalem unto the Jews, and made them to cease by force and power. 

24. 그때에 예루살렘에 있는 [하나님]의 집에 관한 공사가 중단되고 이처럼 그 일이 페르시아 왕 다리오의 통치 제이년까지 중단되니라.

Then ceased the work of the house of God which [is] at Jerusalem. So it ceased unto the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.
