극단적전부신앙(極端的全部信仰)

(단3:8-18)
8 At this time some astrologers came forward and denounced the Jews.  9 They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, "O king, live forever!  10 You have issued a decree, O king, that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music must fall down and worship the image of gold,  11 and that whoever does not fall down and worship will be thrown into a blazing furnace.  12 But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon--Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego--who pay no attention to you, O king. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up."  13 Furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king,  14 and Nebuchadnezzar said to them, "Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up?  15 Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?"  16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter.  17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king.  18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up."

그 제막식(除幕式)에 초대 된 모든 사람들은 일제히
왕의 명령에 따라 각양 악기가 연주 되자 일제히 절을 한다

그러나 사드락 메삭 아벧느고는 항명(抗命)을 지나 반역(反逆)으로 여겨져서
느브갓네살이 말한 그대로 풀무불에 던져지는 신세가 될 줄 알면서도
우상(偶像)앞에 무릎을 꿇지 않는다

이런 사실을 알게 된 소수의 점성가(astrologers)
왕에게 그 사실을 알렸고
대노(大怒)

하지만 왕은 그들을 아끼는 마음이 있기에
다시한 번 회유(懷柔)를 하지만
그들은 거절(拒絶)

‘ 왕이여 
우리가 섬기는 하나님이 계시다면 우리를 맹렬히 타는 풀무불 가운데에서 능히 건져내시겠고 왕의 손에서도 건져내시리이다   
그렇게 하지 아니하실지라도 왕이여 우리가 왕의 신들을 섬기지도 아니하고 왕이 세우신 금 신상에게 절하지도 아니할 줄을 아옵소서’

오늘의 본문을 보면서
하나님을 향한 신앙은 
이들 정도가 되어야 한다는 믿음이 선다

(롬12:2) 
너희는 이 세대를 본받지 말고 
오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 
하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 
분별하도록 하라

초대교회 시대로부터 지금까지
어떤 통계에 의하면 
기독인앙 때문에 순교한 사람들의 숫자가 약 70만명 정도 된다 한다

그들의 죽음은
대부분
외골수 일편단심(一片丹心)의 신앙때문 이었던 것

하지만 작금의 기독교인들에게 있어
과연 하나님을 향한 
극단적전부신앙(極端的全部信仰)을 소유(所有)한 사람이 있을까...?

대부분 비겁
고난(苦難) 죽음을 뛰어넘지 못하는 모습
나 역시...

하지만 오늘도 기도한다
사드락 메삭 아벧느고 같을 수 있도록
그 70만명의 선택을 할 수 있도록 성령께서 도와 달라는 마음으로 오늘의 하루를 또 시작한다
